If you’re waiting until the theaters are unpacked to see “Why Did I Get Married?”, then you might opt for a nice Blockbuster night at home. Weekend movie picks will feature a throwback film from the past and why it’s so worth it to watch it once again.
As you can see, this weekend feature is the classic film “New Jack City” starring Ice T and Wesley Snipes. After seeing the New Jack Swing dedication on VH1′s Hip Hop Honors and meeting r&b singer Christoper Williams this week, I had a sudden urge to watch one of my personal favorite movies of all time. The movie follows cocaine lord Nino Brown with his “Cash Money Brothers” as they take over an entire apartment complex. Ice T and Judd Nelson play undercover cops who go in to stop them.
I mean who can forget this film and some of its memorable scenes and characters? Pookie, Duh Duh Man…and did I mention the soundtrack to the film? (don’t front on Color Me Badd!) The most classic line however, comes from the scene after the cut…
ALL TIME FAV PART OF THE MOVIE!!! Yo remember when Martin did this on his show and had that fake dog slamming it on the table like it was barking! lol. Great pick Tianna!

This is my favorite movie of all time. Wesley is superb in this movie. I think he pkayed a gangsta much better than Denzel in “Training Day.” Snipes was so believable in this role that I still call him Nino Brown to this day.

Denzel’s new movie, American Gangster, is based on the same guy New Jack City was based on: Leroy Nicky Barnes. BET has a show called American Gangster, and there was an episode on Barnes. That BET show is excellent and chilling at the same time.
