The premiere for the anticipated film “American Gangster” took place over the weekend, and while many stars at the premiere did what they could in the wardrobe department – rappers Common and Jay-Z stood out among the fellas. Both were there for their contributions to the movie – Common starring in the film and Jay doing his music thing based off of it.
Jay-Z opted for a classic black three piece suit while Common added more of variety to his look topped with a black velvet blazer. So I ask you, which is more GQ?

A toss up, if you ask me…I like both suits but since we have to put them up against each other, Common’s pants are too long and Jay’s jacket sleeves are too long (not a trace of shirt cuff in sight). ::shrug::

I’m telling ya’ll old homie jay is killin’ em..i’m sure (jay-z’s boyfriend/roomate) Larry johnson approved of that suit..that’s tailored baby!! hand made..common’s smoky velvet looks off the gap rack..even though common makes gap clothes look nice…Jay is just on another level plus the gear is black so its not too good to the camera..i’m sure in person..Jay had that one hands down..that fabric looks expensive as hell..

Why do you feel the need to give the public a chance to compare them? Why can’t it be pictures with a posting that says “they both look good”?

I love the way Jay wears his clothes – whether it’s a pair of jeans or a three piece suit. He’s the flyest in the game.

I say Jay he always looks good in a suit. Although most of you may disagree I actually think Jay is Handsome. I get a lot of flack from my sisters and my girlfriends but I have always though he was cute, because I have have always liked his swagger and that goes along way with me.

Jays suit fits better and actually looks tailored. Common’s pants don’t hang right and that velvet blazer is a mess that he bought off the rack.
But i still voted for Common b/c Common is handsome. I think Puff and Common would have been a better comparison. Diddy was very sharp in his grey suit.

Common! He has more of a body than Jay-Z. I care for neither cats, but Common clothes just fit better because he’s fit. When you are fit, you can wear anything! Jay-Z might think about hittin’ the gym

Jay-Z (although i love his BK swagger) looks like a deacon. Putting on his #1 Deacon special required no effort at all. His suit looked like something he kept in his closet for an unexpected funeral.

common is more GQ in this comparison, and period because he has a more versatile look than jay-z. jay is limited to either hip-hop street or formal attire wear, everything else in between jay CAN NOT PULL OFF.
