The Miami-Dade Police Department arrested four people Friday in connection with the shooting death of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor.
Police spokeswoman Linda O’Brien identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. O’Brien said the charges for each had not yet been determined.
Taylor died Tuesday, one day after being shot at his home in an affluent Miami suburb during what officials said appeared to be an attempted burglary. The suspects weren’t expecting Taylor to be home, police director Robert Parker said, but Taylor was recuperating from a knee injury and had returned to Miami from Washington.

Rodney King, famous for a videotaped beating from Los Angeles police back in 1991, was shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday. King called Rialto police just before midnight to report the shooting. According to Sgt. Don Lewis, King was struck in the face and arm by a shotgun. When police arrived at King’s home, they reported that King and others inside appeared drunk. King was taken to a local hospital, and his wounds were not believed to be life-threatening. [SOURCE]

Mannie Fresh’s sister, Angela Bryant, was shot and killed Wednesday night in her New Orleans home, according to local TV affiliate WWLTV. Police reportedly said the 42-year-old mother’s two young children were present but not physically harmed.
Authorities said Bryant, whose body was discovered early Thursday morning, was murdered between 10 p.m. and midnight, according to WWLTV. Her black 1998 Lexus LS 400 reportedly went missing after the murder. [ READ MORE @ MTV ]

The ex-boyfriend of a JSU student missing since Nov. 13 has been charged with killing her, officials say.
Stanley Cole, 24, is suspected in the slaying of Latasha Norman.
A body found this afternoon off Brown Street in north Jackson is that of Norman, Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott confirmed late today.
The remains were found around 2 p.m. in a wooded area on Brown Street near County Line Road.
Cole, a criminal justice major at JSU, was in a Pearl court early Thursday for a hearing into charges he struck Norman Oct. 9 at a restaurant in Pearl. He was later taken into custody for further questioning in Norman’s disappearance.
Cole, whom Scott had termed “a person of Interest” a few hours earlier, was formally charged with murder after Norman’s body was found.
Cole apparently led police to the body.
The university, which spearheaded vigils and other events to keep Norman’s disappearance in the news, has cancelled classes Friday in her honor. [ READ MORE ]
