I have also listened to the entire album and the only tracks that are really of any quality in my opinion are Take U Down, You, Kiss Kiss, and Lottery…I think that if chris brown was gonna go for a mature album, he should have went the whole way…not just one song…I liked his first album a lot more…but we’ll see how the sales go!

Oh yeah and vocal-wise i see very little change in Chris’s range or delivery…he still sounds very pre-puberty to me…

I’ve always liked Take u Down since the first clip i heard of it. I like all the other songs as well (except Gimme What Chu Got, its kindof annoying). But yea i do agree with some of u with his voice. It is real pushed-scratchy sounding and it can get annoying. I hope he’s takin voice lessons to improve.

I bought his first CD and was very impressed . I listened to the tracks in this post & IMO they aren’t( as good) as the first CD. However ,only time will tell how well the CD will do. I’m sure the young ladies will appreciate him. It’s truly sad all the hate that this post has created.

The song held my attention for longer than any other Chris Brown song. Ok, he doesn’t have the best voice, but i hear potential. When he gets sum bass in there and starts working with a vocal coach he will be pretty good.

I listened to the whole thing on The Leak at mtv.com.

He hit the sophomore slump hard. This CD contains some very skippable tracks, unlike the debut, which was in heavy rotation in my iPod for many months. I listened to his album on wednsday and I was dissapointed to say the least. I love love LOVED his first LP, but this one falls short. It only has 4 solid songs, the rest are skipped thru constantly. Also his voice sounds really bad. Now I know he’s still a “child” (this nucca is 18 an folks actin like he a baby…get real) and his voice isnt matured, but it still sounds undeveloped for his age.

Now chris brown is extra fine, and this 20 yr old would definetly give him the bizness, but I cant say that I support him as an artist. To me he is a Rihanna with dancing abilities…and without the megga hit songs.

This is a bit OT, but some of you have mentioned Trey Songz and others… Is it just me are or these people straight up stealing Neyo’s style? I mean, the Mario song “How do I breathe” and Trey’s “can’t help but wait” are straight up Neyo sounding…and while I don’t know if Neyo’s team had anything to do with Trey’s song, I know that Mario and another set of producers did “How do I breathe”… It’s crazy to me that they’d straight up take the man’s style… even though it is easy enough to take, all you need is a simple beat and clean vocals and you’ve got it, exactly…

As for Chris, I am in the majority here…I think he’s overrated…very much so… His dancing is all over the place…it is not smooth or technical…there is nothing phenomenal about it… when someone can dance, even the most subtle movements evoke a sort of…well, I don’t know the term, I’m not a dancer…but when you see Usher tipping his baseball cap in “Yeah” or when Beyonce touches her hair in “Check on it” their movements have a certain something to them… Chris Brown doesn’t have that, at all… And his voice is so effeminate…his vocals are grasping and ugly and most of all, so 1992 girl group…he’s like Mokenstef incarnate or something…

Because you can’t play this album from start to finish! The album is garbage. I had trouble making it past “Kiss Kiss” which is an awful song.

TLC’s “Crazysexycool” is an album I can play from start to finish, Usher’s “Confessions” is an album I can play from start to finish, Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt” is an album I can play from start to finish…….NOT CHRIS’ ALBUM!

And another thing, this album has been getting terrible reviews from critics they have been criticizing this album for it’s lack of lyrical dexterity, the overproduced beats, Chris’ lack of vocal talent, and the fact that the rappers have zero chemistry with Chris when they jump on the many tracks they’re featured on.

One more thing…..STOP SAYING PEOPLE ARE “HATING” because they’re speaking the truth! For every 5 critics out there saying something negative, their are 5 more who have something positive to say. Different strokes for different folks, and that goes for those people, men, boys( who are willing to be truthful) girls or women who like his music.
Yes I agree that they are some amazing singers out there who are not getting their props, but blame their record labels, managers and FANS for that. (I mention fans, because these artists are nothing without GOD and them).

I cannot believe I just read through a full page of comments about how cute this boy is. What does that have to do with his music? I’m hoping that the majority of these comments are coming from middle school aged girls, because if you are over the age of 16 and spending your hard earned retail job paycheck on music for someone’s looks than you need to rethink your life.
And please do the world a favor and remove the term “hater” from your vocabulary. What ever happen to having an opinion? Are you going to call everyone a hater that disagrees with you in life. How can someone hate someone that they do not know?
I haven’t gave all the songs much listen but from what I heard it sounds like garbage.
I never purchase anything from this guy but I have found a few of his songs catchy. It’s apparent however, that this kid equates guest appearences with a hot track. This only proves to the fact that he can’t stand on his own. And that’s including his latest #1 single, which would be nothing without T-Pain (who is equally annoying but atleast manages to give the song some kind of melodic feel).
His dancing is good, but he doesn’t market himself like an artist that is all about the dancing. Look at Britney for an example. She has made an excellent dance album, this girl knows her boundaries. She’s not on the track trying to belt high notes that she knows she isn’t capable of.
So no one is jealous of this boy or hating on him. Fame isn’t everything and I can bet that no one posting here will achieve it through the entertainment industry. What you little girls need to do is get your education. Especially “ShortieCake” and “Mixed Ma”. Because while you sit here claiming everyone is hating we will be advancing our selves through other routes and you will be sitting at your computer masterbating to shirtless “bird-chested” Chris Brown.

Ok…first I would like to state that I do not like Chris Brown that much. I think he is corny, goofy, and tries too hard to be someone that he’s not…which in my opinion puts him on par with most boys his age. However, I don’t see anything wrong with him singing about sex. I’m a teenager myself and I can definitely say that I have not met too many eighteen year old virgins. And yeah, little girls and boys listen to his music, but like I always say if we leave it up to celebrities to worry about the morals and values of our children then we’re going to have a huge problem. If you’re a mother or father and you have a problem with your child listening to songs about people having sex then it’s YOUR job to monitor that. It’s not Chris Brown’s job to screen his music for other people’s children. Yeah, he may suffer loss of record sales because his target audience is too young for what he’s talking about or whatever but I don’t understand why people always act like it’s the artist’s fault that their children are listening to inappropriate things. Oh please. People in America shield their children from sex like it’s the evilest of acts. There is nothing wrong with “Take you Down” and if Disney Channel can accept Vanessa Hudgeons to do High School Musical 3 when she has naked pictures all over the internet they can certainly accept Chris Brown on their channel when he admits he’s not a virgin. Okay.What’s with all this talk about Chris Brown being untalented?Of course he’s talented.The problem is he is not singing the songs that would compliment his voice.There is a track called “Missin You” with Johnta Austin that should have made the album.I don’t think it is right to be too hard on him.He is a young guy and for the fact that he is talking about sex,he doesn’t get into detail like other artists do.Take You Down was the only song I know that was about that really.He’s 18.Why can’t he talk about that in his songs?You should be glad he doesn’t cuss in them.When his first album dropped,people were talking about how he needed to mature,now that he has matured his music a little y’all complain.The fact is he is a great entertainer and singer , I think he should sing better songs with better lyrics.Other than that I am buying the album,cuz i am a huge fan!Don’t blame the music industy for crappy music to become successful.Blame yourselves for liking it.XXX

Chris Brown isnt completely to blame. Every artist pretty much has throw away tracks that should never see the light of day but in Chris Brown’s case, alot of these tracks made the final cut. His label must be on that shit because ALOT of his unreleased track for the album are fire! Where is a classic B Cox ballad? He did produce at least 2 or 3 but they decide to put “throwed” on the album instead. “Miss You” with Jontah Austin is definitley single material and it boggles my mind that it didnt make the cut, despite the positive reception once it was leaked, and I defintiely feel he should be putting out that record instead of “with you”(which shouldnt have even made the cut for the album in the first place).

No Offense…I love CL!!! However, the majority of your album reviews are fluff, brief and basically a waste of space. You seem to only review hip-pop and R&B. there’s more to Black Music than the lousy crap they sell us nowdays.
