She was not this skinny when she was first eliminated prior to winning ANTM. Maybe she;’s trying to fight some type of industry sterotype that latina women got big bones just like black women. But being deathly skinny is a high price to pay for a few fashion spreads.

Jaslene has always been skinny that’s just her body makeup she can’t help that. She is doing what no other top model winner has which is actually working as a couture model not even miss eva diva has done that.
Yes she is skinny but if you see most models they are realllllll skinny. Like Selita Ebanks (I saw her in person) she is really skinny as well as Alek Wek,Jessica White etc. Its something about the modeling industry wanting these girls to be real thin and with these european sizes and crap they expect for you to wear a size 0, what the hell is a size zero? But girls like Naomi and Heidi Klum, they been in the game for a long time and they are not that skinny (don’t understand) but I guess designers let them slide because they been in the game so long.
I thought Jaslene was the best one in cycle 9, but her weight made me nervous as hell. I agree that Tyra should have checked on that.
There is absolutely nothing spectacular about this girl. Sure, she looks like today’s model- extremely bony and plain, but that’s about it.

I stood right next to the girl in union square this past summer and there is NO WAY IN THE HELL you can tell me this girl is NATURALLY skinny! The clothes are pretty. She’s a pretty girl but she looks painfully thin. You can actually see her skeletal frame. I don’t think being that thin is completely natural. It looks as though she headed down the same path as that Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston who died from anarexia.

I really don’t like Jaslene. It’s crazy how Tyra came down on Danielle (Cycle 6) about her accent & how she sounded “ghetto” yet Jaslene is a typically loud ghetto Spanish chick. In her CoverGirl commercials, she sounds unnatural & loud.

Hell, I’m one of ‘em and it really IS natural *shit I eat like a cow and absolutely nuthin’ happens lol— i’ll count my blessings while I can..*. A couple weeks ago Jaslene was on here with her mom and her mom wasn’t skinny as shit but that’s just because she’s older and her metabolism has OBVIOUSLY slowed long time ago plus she has kids… But who’s not to say that Jaslene’s mom wasn’t as skinny as Jaslene when she was younger???

Jaslene really does look a lot smaller than she was on ANTM. She had breasts then. The industry prefers models to look like wire hangers because that’s all that they’re supposed to be.

the reality is that with such a wideset jawline (American Dad-esque, if you will) there is no way she’s going to look even a tad bit like a model unless she’s very thin. I think it’s natural, really… She doesn’t have an emaciated frame, she has the body of someone who is naturally spectral. I don’t think she has a beautiful face, though…I don’t think it and I don’t see how anyone else does (the American Dad-esque jawline). I didn’t get this choice, I think Tyra and her crew knew that her size might make it so that she could work more than the America’s Next Chopped Models in the past.
