Everyone and anyone who knows and is a fan of Kanye, knows and is a fan of his mother as well because they were always together and just as he shined, he made sure his mother did too. I just can’t imagine the pain he’s going thru right now and I pray that he’s able to come out of it alright. Kanye if you’re reading this, we love you and wish you and your family the best.

I find Kanye to be an inspiration….

90% of his work is stolen and you guys don’t think that’s wrong? From his lyrics and definitely production (ask the top producer in Chi-Town who everyone says is better than Kanye), if he’s not sampling, he’s stealing someone’s production and lyrics. If you pay attention, you can see/hear it clear as day without deeply investigating.

I think he’s gotten his due and then some. Kanye has the biggest ego going since 50 and is going to catch the biggest “L” like 50. I’m sick of him being considered a “rapper” - like KRS-1 said, “Kanye’s not hip hop.” He’s not. He’s an artist - it’s a difference. Jay knows that too and that’s why he said “50 didn’t have a chance because 50 didn’t realize that Kanye is an artist.” Jay was saying how seriously he took his music, but I’m saying he’s not rap, he’s “pap”. “Pap” is “Pop Rap”. Rappers will never have a chance in a category against people like him, BEP and now Common (who’s more hip hop than the others). 50’s the one that’s not getting his due. He did all what Kanye did (early 50), but from a gutter street perspective. The problem is that “rap” will never sell, but water it down to music like Kanye and you’re the biggest thing since sliced bread. I’m not investing my time in “Pap”. I’m investing my time in “Rap”.

He’s not the only blunt person that speaks his mind - 50 and Jay are notorious for being blunt - they’re only generic when it comes to their personal lives. He comes off as a passionate person - whatever - but the passion stems from his ego. He can’t stand to lose and he thinks he’s better than every rapper out. He doesn’t even respect rap or rappers. He said himself he can only be compared to Justin Timberlake (another overrated asshole) and ya’ll are commending this dude? Whites are working overtime making sure albums and singles get “leaked” to cut sales because they’re trying to rid the world of our style of music because it’s the hottest music.

Keep upholding Kanye and he will be the KOHH and can you picture “rap” then?

@47 you got issues, not that serious. Who cares! He’s a great artist, sampling and all and you still have to have talent to bring old school up to date and create a following like he has. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and he appreciates other artist that came before him. He don’t sample every thing and who hasn’t these days, Jay Z, Beyonce, Sean Combs, etc. There’s no need to be hateful and Kanye seems far more approachable than some on the “angry rappers” despite whatever ego he may have. Never be happy when something bad happens to someone because it could happen to you, no one is immune to tragedy.

I can see how my comments on post #35 seem insensitive! I would never disrespect anyone who just lost their parent! That’s just not me! I was trying to say that Kanye needs strong support that only a spouse or close relative can usually give! Girlfriends and homies are okay, but the bond and trust is much more soothing when there is blood or vows!

I think that single black men need to find wives! Many people think that the verse saying “leave your parents to “cleave” to your wife”, means the bond with his mother would be broken! That’s not what it means! I think their lives together would have been more blessed if his mother could have witnessed his marriage!

I love the photos; they are like great works of art. The black and white is both minimalist and clean. I love the choice of footwear as it offers contrast to the suite, much like black does to white and visa versa. All in all I think it shows a man that is both simply straight forward and at the same time inwardly complex. Beautiful. By the way black men always look good in black and white. Only thing I would have done differently was leave the shadows off of the pictures.
