Keyshia Cole Kirk Franklin and Lyfe Jennings made appearances at 106 & Park this week.
Kirk Franklin is releasing his tenth album The Fight Of My Life on December 18th and his new video for “Declaration” premiered last week. Meanwile, Lyfe is currently working on his third studio album Change that is due out next year.
Keyshia jus looks rediculous now, everything from her hair, to her outfit to that stupid look on her face.

Thankfully, I’ve not grown up in that environment either, but I understand enough about it to know that just because you get older, you don’t necessarily get wiser. Too often we equate chronological age with maturity – and that’s simply not the case.
Neffi can live to be 100, but she may still have the same irresponsible and chaotic understanding that she has grown up in until she LEARNS something different. Frankie can’t teach her because she doesn’t know herself. Consider that Frankie has spent her entire adult life on drugs — not just drugs, but Crack. Her learning and understanding ceased when she became hooked – and it doesn’t sound like she was too bright up to that point. The drugs have definitely impacted what judgement and understanding she did have, and she has to live with the awful things she did to herself and her children.
She doesn’t know how to be a mother, let alone a “good” mother, that’s why the only advice she could offer to Neffi when she was upset about her marriage was some song lyrics from the 80s – ‘if it don’t fit, don’t force it”.
As far as Keyshia letting them go… they are her biological family, it’s only natural for any child [regardless of age] to want their mother, that is innate. She is doing what she should do, BUT – there will come a point, when you have to determine, are you pulling the people up, or are you allowing them to pull you down.
Both Neffi and Frankie need desparately to be doing something productive for their personal growth and development. They need some help and some healing – and though she probably loves them to death – Keyshia can’t fix that. But she can provide the resources to get them the help.
I think the issue with exposing this all on TV is complicated – Keyshia is saying, it’s a reality show, and it is what it is. Unfortunately, this is real life for a LOT of people. These aren’t the people who provide comments on a blog, so most of the comments and attitudes you see and have are the comments that say, “they are so ghetto”, “they are so ignorant” – they shouldn’t be exposing all of this on TV – But unfortunately, for a whole lot of people – what they see on that show is a pure reflection of what they live and see EVERYDAY. Some are thinking “finally, a TV show about a family like ours” and hopefully others are saying – damn, that’s what we look like, that’s how we act – We need to do better.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT THOUGHT FRANKIE WAS LOOKING LIKE A DANCING CRACKHEAD ON THAT SHOW. I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD THEN HAD MY HUSBAND LAUGHING WHILE WE WATCHED IT ON BLAST. THAT GATOR COMMENT WAS TOO FUNNY!!! IT’S TOO EARLY TO BE LAUGHING LIKE HARD!!!
I ALSO THINK FRANKIE MAY BE DABBLING IN SOME DRUGS AGAIN…MY UNCLE GOT OUT OF JAIL LAST YEAR AND OUT OF REHAB AND HE DOESN’T LOOK LIKE A CRACKHEAD ANYMORE BUT FRANKIE DEFINITELY LOOKS LIKE CANE’S MOMMA FROM MENACE TO SOCIETY.
@ Dame, thanks alot. I had to go on his myspace page to find out yesterday. I am in looooooooooove with Lyfe. His voice is so soulful and I like the topics he choosed to sing about on each album. To me, he’s one of a kind.

You are talking about nothing. Now and again, some fanatic loser pops up and tries to equate something petty like dissing Beyonce with genocide… And, guess what? It’s lame. All of you are blowing hot air…you could not, if you wanted to, elaborate…make the lame argument you’re blathering on about…
So, what? We think Keyshia is ghetto… Are you telling me whites don’t do as much (and by the way, it’s not hating, it’s called having an opinion…Keyshia is capitalizing off the notion, don’t ya know? cause the show is ONLY sensational if some people think it’s “going too far” or “inappropriate tv” and the like)? Anyway, as I said…whites, they thought Anna Nicole Smith was trash. Her antics amount to Keyshia’s family’s antics… Ummmm, what about latinos…they aren’t fond of the many gay men who sashay across these fashion design shows…the men have said as much. And, the list goes on and on and on…I’m drinking my tea now….

Just because some people would rather not air all their dirty laundry on national tv dose not man they are not real, it means thay have some level of class and know that what gose on at home or in their family is not for everyones entertainment.
