It’s so silly of you to assume that someone’s unfavorable opinion of that ridiculous vest Keyshia’s wearing comes from their knowing nothing about fashion. I, for one, know TONS about fashion, and yet I STILL believe that outfit is HORRIBLE. Aside from the fact that she’s wearing fur (I do NOT believe in wearing fur, but I also don’t believe in wearing leather or consuming dairy…) the outfit is garrish and unoriginal. As I’ve stated, one of the Olsen twins has already worn the vest…but I’m not one to believe a piece is dead because another woman wears it, so I’ll let that ride… Moving on to the boots…they are far too garrish and whimsical to wear with a vest that’s already so busy…a simple black platform boot with a spike heel would have worked and been just as “off kilter” if that’s what she was going for, without being so gawdy. But, that I know is subjective… I can see a woman pulling it off without being loud or tacky (see how I can appreciate another’s viewpoint????)
Also, the bangles…TOO MUCH…the vest and boots are loud enough, why introduce those loud things? It makes the outfit disjointed too…the vest and tights, seem to be an irreverent statement…collapsing the paradigm: hip hop opulence. But, what’s with introducing all these very classically ostentatious bangles? That’s too much…what does it do to that irreverent statement? It obsoletes it… that’s what… Now, the woman looks like one of the myopic nouveau riche, with a credit card and nobody to stop her.

I agree with you about Neffe and Frankie having their own show because they are the only reason BET signed on for another season.

I understand keeping it real, but some stuff just shouldn’t be done on television. I mean Neffe’s husband cheated with her cousin, is having a baby with her and lives with her. He made it very clear on Tuesday’s episode he didn’t not want her ! If someone gives you divorce papers and say sign them, they don’t want you.

When I’m watching it, i feel as if I shouldn’t be, there is just way too much going on in that family, for all their dirty laundry to be aired on national television. Another thing, I’ve never grown up in the type of environment Neffi And Keyshia has, but it seems, to me, that the main characters of the show - Neffi and Frankie - seem to feed off of the negativity and the despair and sadness that negativity brings.

1. When will Neffi say, when I came of age, I knew right from wrong, and I made the choices that affected my future and the rest of my life, not my mother.

2. when will Frankie quit acting like Keyshia owes her something and try to become something her darn self.

3. when will Keyshia just let these people go, you cannot move forward when you are constantly looking back, and associating yourself with people who are stuck in the past and wallow in their grief.

Again, I’ve never grown up in this type of environment so maybe i’m the one who’s convoluted

Thankfully, I’ve not grown up in that environment either, but I understand enough about it to know that just because you get older, you don’t necessarily get wiser. Too often we equate chronological age with maturity - and that’s simply not the case.

Neffi can live to be 100, but she may still have the same irresponsible and chaotic understanding that she has grown up in until she LEARNS something different. Frankie can’t teach her because she doesn’t know herself. Consider that Frankie has spent her entire adult life on drugs — not just drugs, but Crack. Her learning and understanding ceased when she became hooked - and it doesn’t sound like she was too bright up to that point. The drugs have definitely impacted what judgement and understanding she did have, and she has to live with the awful things she did to herself and her children.

She doesn’t know how to be a mother, let alone a “good” mother, that’s why the only advice she could offer to Neffi when she was upset about her marriage was some song lyrics from the 80s - ‘if it don’t fit, don’t force it”.

As far as Keyshia letting them go… they are her biological family, it’s only natural for any child [regardless of age] to want their mother, that is innate. She is doing what she should do, BUT - there will come a point, when you have to determine, are you pulling the people up, or are you allowing them to pull you down.

Both Neffi and Frankie need desparately to be doing something productive for their personal growth and development. They need some help and some healing - and though she probably loves them to death - Keyshia can’t fix that. But she can provide the resources to get them the help.

I think the issue with exposing this all on TV is complicated - Keyshia is saying, it’s a reality show, and it is what it is. Unfortunately, this is real life for a LOT of people. These aren’t the people who provide comments on a blog, so most of the comments and attitudes you see and have are the comments that say, “they are so ghetto”, “they are so ignorant” - they shouldn’t be exposing all of this on TV - But unfortunately, for a whole lot of people - what they see on that show is a pure reflection of what they live and see EVERYDAY. Some are thinking “finally, a TV show about a family like ours” and hopefully others are saying - damn, that’s what we look like, that’s how we act - We need to do better.
