Love it and it does take you back to another time. It reminds me of the more appreciable music from back in the old days. I remember when I was a little girl, my mother use to play the oldies and I though it sucked. I never wanted to listen to the songs, because of the music playing behind the lyrics. I thought that I needed to hear a more upbeat sound. However, as I got older I ended up falling in love with the oldies. This song reminds me of the oldies. It puts me in relax mode.

Love this song! Love the album! I think her previous albums are classic to me, because I could put them on and just zone OUT! I can do that with this album too, but it’s more straightforward and really showcases where she is in life. I heard in a couple of interview she’s stronger and isn’t afraid to be herself, instead of this always-perfect-answer celeb. It shows in her vocal style and arrangements. It’s about power and overcoming personal issues and demons. Some say she’s straining, but I’d rather listen to her voice than a clear perfectly pitched boring ass voice. She really knows how to channel her emotion through her voice. And for those who say it is boring… Newsflash, it’s Alicia Keys. She’s known for making ballads and a lot of times you have to be in a certain mood to listen to her. Anyway, this album is wonderful! I don’t have Alicia’s albums on repeat anymore, because sometimes I can get stuck in that mood and get way too carried away. But whenever I listen to the album once in a while to zone out… It’s wonderful. Her lyrics may sometimes be lacking, but i think it’s all in her delivery more than ever. This is a remake, and maybe it did not make the album because she did not receive permission to use it. I agree with Punky n the NewYorker..some things should be left to the original. I always thought of Alicia Keys as the opposite project of Whitney for Clive Davis. Whitney was too “ethic” as he put it, so he commercialized her. Alicia who is mixed, grew up in hells kitchen playing Mozart was not ethnic enough, so he added braids in his attempt to “urbanize her”..basically what they tried to do with pink. That clause for her to rock braids must be over, because she rocking the lace fronts now too. She is overrated, too. To those who know music, she is a blatant copier/recycler.

The ONLY thing that makes her unique in R&B is playing the piano. Thank God she retained that… well at least she starts off at the piano. She gets up these days now, to shake her thang for record sales.

Alicia is just trying to reppin by doin somethin different instead of the regular two steps my ass but even if she does not achieve that, no one can blame her since we know she has her own identity. I don’t think alicia is better than lauryn hill but they are both artist with a profound attachment to what they do and a profound love for love !! but alicia kills it and her album is really not what i was expecting, i mean, it is amazingly different even if she still plays the piano but it sounds less RnB and more i stilll don’t know!

Wow..someone like me to get emotional over a song like this is amazing. There are only two women in the world that get me emotional and that is Alicia and Diana Ross. I love Mary too! Im sad this song is not on the album, this woman is so talented I am glad that her talent shined and not over sex up marketing.
