I am very excited to hear what resuts from a Brandy/Timbaland collabo!! All of Brandy’s albums have been FYA to me and I don’t feel she gets the recognition she deserves as an artist. And of course everything Timbaland breathes on will be a hit!

Her voice does NOT work on Timbaland beats…her last album flopped, did she not get it? Now that we’ve got people singing these ill-fitting, old school r&b songs, why doesn’t she just fall into that niche? She should do the Keyshia Cole kind of thing, but obviously not so abjectly ghetto… because Brandy will NOT work in the current pop scene…she sounds crazy, I can just see her mouth open like the Grudge baby’s when she doing those first adlibs “Oooooooooohhhhhhhh”

I love Brandy…vocally, she can do no wrong in my book. However, I don’t know how “new” this is because it sounds like it could have bee plopped down right in the middle of the Afrodiasiac CD (which I have been bumping religiously since Angel posted the last update about Brandy).

Brandy is known from coming with a new (and improved IMO) sound every time she puts out new material. It’s a good song, but it sounds like recycled material to me.

Not feeling it at all. Some of you need to jump off of Brandy’s jock strap, because y’all know damn well if some other singer sang this song, you would think it was whack.

I always liked Brandy. I really dug her Afrodisiac album. It was very mature very well produced. The single “How I Feel” is probably Brandy’s very best slow jam.

I like this song, but sometimes with Timbaland you get a sense of familiarity with the beats. And with this song I swear I hear Missy Elliot’s “Hot Boyz” in the underlying beat. And as the song goes on I can hear “Why You All In My Grill” as well, and then synthesizer from Ryan Leslie’s “Long Way 2 Go” is thrown in there too.

With all of these similarities, I still like the song. Brandy may not be Ms. Vocal Gymnastics, but I always dug her voice. Too bad she didn’t get a more big named rapper to give this song more of a boost. Riff Raff’s rapping is OK I guess.

Love Brandy’s voice and her music, always been a big fan. Really glad she is coming back. This song sounds a lot like music from her past. I want to hear some real energy from Brandy. Not crazy about the song but it will grow on me I’m sure.

I checked her myspace and her website. She’s left her label and is now signed to Ray-J’s “indie” label, so I’m probably figuring why she has an this unknown rapper on her CD.

Sounds like Riffraff plunked 16 bars onto an already recorded track and is calling it “new.” Might be new for him, but it’s not new for Brandy - the lyrical content is definitely recorded during the Afrodisiac sessions. And I don’t care who gets the production credit, that’s a Timbaland beat - he produced all of Afrodisiac with the exception of maybe two or three songs at the most.

Still like the song, but you best believe whatever she comes with is going to be hard. Whatever Brandy puts out, she’s always ahead of what’s current, so mainstream radio doesn’t know what to do with her.

since when was “never say never” hailed as an r&b classic? i don’t ever recall any credible media sources (rolling stones, vibe, EW) citing such praise. i’m 29 years old and i remember the only people who copped that record were the young teeny boppers. even listening to the record now, there’s nothing “great” about it. there was nothing deep or ground breaking to it. it didn’t show brandy growing as an artist. was it her biggest selling record? yes. was it a critical success? no.

You know what i think, thing song was recorded last year sometime and got left and the chopping board so to speak. Whoever produced it (B.E Productions (?)) was prolly working with Riff Raff and let him hear it, he was feelin it and decided to spit a quick 16, resulting in the song we hear today. Yo I like everything I wanted to say and feel number 21 got right on point with it. Brandy is a beast when it comes to her harmonies and background vocals for real. And if you listen to Keyshia Cole’s first interview when she came out she said that Brandy is one of her biggest influences. Brandy does not follow anyone else style she makes trends and always has. She is a big inspiration for me when I record my music in the studio as well. The sound from Afrodisiac was a sound that Timbaland created for her unlike anything he ever created for anybody not even his regular artists. I do agree that I don’t think this should be a first single though but Brandy always changes at the last minute anyway. Thanks for the reminder to number 21 cause I got tickets to the show in DC for the Ultima Show and forgot it was the 11th of Nov (LOL). I am so glad to hear some new music from Brandy! Her voice is truly a breath of fresh air. ( There is no synthesizing, her harmonies sound that damn good). She can do things with her voice that some of these other females would kill to be able to do (her lower register is not to be messed with).

I have no earthly idea who the song was produced by, but they did a great job. If it is Timbaland, I am happy that she is working with him again. Afrodisiac was a R&B masterpiece in my opinion and it is like nothing that Tim has ever done. Most of his other productions are centered around his beats but, with Afrodisiac the songs are clearly centered around Brandy’s voice, harmonies and lyrics. Listen to Justin’s FutureSexLoveSounds and you will hear the differences. Also if you dont believe me listen to Brandy’s song “Should I Go” and you will see exactly what I mean. That song shouldn’t work but, because of Brandy’s voice it does. No one else could have sung that song and made it as hauntingly beautiful and I mean NO ONE. Afrodisiac was truly slept on.

For the one who said that Brandy can’t keep up with the new ladies, you are wrong. Who is there to keep up with when she is so far ahead of them? First off let me say that Keyshia does not have her own style, she copies Mary J’s. I may be mistaken but is’nt Ciara in a sophomore album slump? And now the beloved Beyonce is following in Brandy’s footsteps by working with who else but Timbaland for her next album. Just like how she had every female in the industry lined up to work with Rodney Jerkins after Never Say Never. Now how about that.

Brandy is back! Just to let yall know, this track is old, i had a snippet of it back in the fall of 06, but the rap is new, and he saids 2008 on the track, so this could possibly be on the new album, I dont think its first single potential, more like 3rd or 4th, and I think she should have put a bridge on the song (after the rap maybe) cause the song doesnt have enough Brandy on it for me.

I absolutely love Brandy’s voice. I loved Afrodisiac, don’t know why it didn’t do good in sales, obviously pple don’t listen to real music anymore.

I love BRocka. Im glad the track has gained exposure.Riff Raff is an artist from my area (Washington, DC) I really wish she brings it home by making an Album soon. She doesnt get the credit she deserves because she’s not taking off all her clothes or dating someone with power in the limelight like Puffy or JayZ. Her voice is what real music used to be. Brandy, Monica, MaryJ, SWV, Aaliyah and many more have paved the way for performers now like Beyonce, Keyshia, Alicia Keys, Ashanti, fantasia and many others. Brandys” songs have meaning and depth to them. She sings about true life situations and you can feel it from her voice what she’s going through at the time. Im sure many artist have recorded songs many DEMOS /years/ Albums ago and put it on a new album that we may buy today, but you wouldnt know it.Megan Rochelle is also another artist that hasn’t gained national exposure to the fullest. She also gives you a sense of Brandy when you hear her voice as well.

Some of ya’ll our just to much,especially GEM!!!!!! Im am a fan of Beyonce & Brandy, but we all know Beyonce is a bit overrated n that Brandy is a bit underrated. They are both excellent artists who will continue to shine, and Beyonce is simply a better dancer/uptempo singer, but Brandy’s Midtempos/Ballads are more than a match for B’s work. Brandy’s has a rich, raspy voice w/great runs, harmonies, and adlibs. Give folks a break, and Never Say Never, Ms.Full Moon/Brandy/B-Rocka will make her comeback, even if it’s just with sales from die hard fans.
