♫ Erkyah Badu – Honey
New music from one of the few artists who I own every album from. Erykah Badu, to me, as remained consistent throughout the years. From Baduizm, to Mama’s Gun, to Worldwide Underground, there hasn’t been an Erykah album that I haven’t been able to listen to from top to bottom. “Honey” is supposedly a new track from Erykah’s new album, The Kabah, which is set for release February 26th, 2008. “Honey” is to be officially released to radio on the 20th of November.

I like Erykah, but this song is just okay to me…its not all of that.

I feel that she’s lost it, but I’m sure she can get it back. I saw her in concert once and I walked out maybe 1/4 in, it was the worst thing ever. I was hoping for the energy she gave during her live album but she was entirely too much into herself, too much ab-libbing, hyping the crowd and ooohs and ahhhs and screaming, much like this song (ohhhh ahhhhh yeeeaaahhh eeeeeh iiiiiiii). I was extremely disappointed. I think something happen in her journey of stardom that drained her. Her vibe is different, more stand offish, not deep enough, something, I don’t know. Maybe I’m being too critical. But knowing how she did in the first two albums, she ain’t gone nowhere, it’ll take some time. I still love her tho.

I think, she really try to experience different things or ” to reinvent herself” and every body is not ready. But she got the soul power my girl but once again, every body cannot understand!! I wonder why she is not with common no more, they were the most talented ( maybe the richest but thak god every body is not only about money) hip hop couple!!

I havent heard much of Eryah’s albums in their entitrety but as it already been said her music is smooth and you can groove to it. Its a grown & sexy. You have to be that kind of person who really love that kind of mood of music or you can put yourself there. Instead of always feeling we need hype edgy music, who knows what the rest of album might take us somewhere else but this is nice vibe to part out for right now. Until the album drops.
