Usher is too established to be taking records from up and coming artists! I think he needs to focus on his family and regroup when he can create some hot original material. The last thing Usher needs is the career diminishing “album push-back”. R&B music has been suffering from this a lot lately.

The drum programming is on point, the elastic synth sound is different and hot. (The engineer could have turned it down a tad bit) The bridge is awesome, the strings and chord changes are awesome in the bridge. Usher sounds on point. The Autotune/ Time stretching effect at the end of the bridge is cool. AND of course Luda is on point.

No amount of defending the producer or beatmaker will change that. Usher has lost his swagger by putting all his business in the street. There is a word called discretion. Most people in the public eye these days haven’t heard of it. I do not care how much the paparazzi hounds you, there is a way to keep it low key even if you sell millions.
Back to the point, the song itself is mediocre in an enviornment where he was once the trendsetter, this sounds behind the times. I don’t dig it. And apparently, not many others do. He’s welcome to make whatever kind of songs he likes (and I’m sure his Stan’s will support). It just doesn’t move me.

I am making sense. When I say MOTHER it means being solely a mother. Not a “Momager” that is thinking with both caps (the mother cap) and (the manager cap) which could lead her to make business decisions instead of motherly decisions. One of the things reported that was “said” by her was that Tameka was going to ruin his career. That’s not a normal “motherly” reaction. That’s a “manager’s” reaction. Do you see how easily the line could be crossed and their could be a conflict of interest by doing both? What if, in fact, that’s the main reason she doesn’t like Tameka? That’s not fair to Usher (her son) while it may be fair to Usher (her artist).

Maybe Usher did/didn’t have a problem with her being his Momager before. Maybe this was just the breaking point. This is the same thing that happens with other stars. It may be cool when you’re younger because you really have no choice. But once you reach a certain point, it probably starts getting old. Thus the reason so many artists move in another direction.

Anyway - here’s what i notice. People (especially black females, which i am) are having a bad reaction to Tameka not because she’s black, not because she’s brown/dark skinned or from the hood. It’s because it APPEARS that she has a caused a rift between a black man and his mama which is an ultimate no no. Like I said, APPEARS. When it all comes down to it, we don’t know shit about what really happened. Personally, I think Tameka is pretty and she loves her man. That’s all that matters. And that he loves her back. Not that I want to bring up Kanye right now considering his situation, but there is not a whole lot of negativity surrounding his fiance. She’s a cute black girl that he chose, but there was no APPARENT rift between Kanye and his mom because of her, matter of fact I thought I read a report where Dr. West said she really enjoyed the young woman. Had it been any other way, you might havet the same reaction from the sistas on here. It would probably help if Usher’s mother was interviewed and she indicated that she was happy with her “retirement” and liked Tameka. Maybe it wouldn’t, but I’m just sayin…

Anyway, I think the opinions about this song (male and female) are pretty consistent about this song. It’s substandard and those synths are leaving a ringing in my ear. So when is Maxwell’s album coming out again?

I didn’t like it at first, but it has grown on me. I think people have an issue, because it is so different from what they’re used to, but I like that. As far as Chris Brown goes, please there is no way he can even compare to Usher. But anyway I just think it will take a little time to grow on people, but I think it can definitely be a club banger.

ANYHOO… I actually kinda liked the song… Remember when “What About Us?” by Brandy came out and it was all busy sounding like cars stuck in traffic and railroad work? lol Well, I didn’t like it but she is like my fave singer.. my ears got used to it, however I still skip that song most of the time on the cd. That being said, if this sound starts popping off on future productions will will get adjusted to it and it will sound like a normal beat.

Oh, and I also like that bridge towards the end as someone else said.. It’s the best part. They need to push that UP earlier in the song and make the song shorter..

Hmm, I was too distracted by the beat to even concentrate on Usher’s voice. And no, im not implying that the beat was good, its very annoying.

Actually, Usher sings this really well, his delivery on the song is hot! but the beat does distract from that just a little. I think he can take it futuristic (a la SexyBack) but you dont want the beat to be too overwhelming. I think the beat should be stripped down a little bit more. Rich Harrison seemed like he was really trying to prove something with this beat being so complicated.

Annoying beat and an annoying young man whose career and personal life has become irritating. This is a great time for other young talent to step in and take Usher’s place. Just my opinion- but Usher has lost his appeal.

I used to like Usher’s music and all, but since he got with that beast it seems things have went downhill for him. Hope he has the smarts to invest in alot of other ventures, because his music career may be going down the drain. I agree with you, except for one piece of possible misinformation: Usher didn’t find Tameka at the proverbial “bottom.” From what I understand, she was something of a high-profile, high-demand stylist in her heyday. That’s from what I understand though; Tianna probably knows more.

I think this is a hot song, but it’s not “radio-ready.” Usher still had the voice and Luda’s verse definitely made this song worth listening to. The only part i have trouble with is the chorus.
