NEWS: Redskins safety Sean Taylor dies
Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Washington Redskins defensive back Sean Taylor died Tuesday morning, a day after he was shot by an intruder at his home in Palmetto Bay, Florida. He was 24.
The one-time standout with the Miami Hurricanes died at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he was airlifted after the shooting Monday morning.
He never regained consciousness after the shooting, Sharpstein (his ex-lawyer) said. “It’s a senseless, tragic death that was so unnecessary, another example of the incessant violence in — not only our community — but the country now.”

He died a Hero - protecting his child and the mother of his child.
These young athletes are targets - they work hard at their craft, only to be faced with do nothing folks, who have no ambition, goals or morals, and live only to take away what somebody else has worked for. There have been an increase of home invasions on young black athletes - Antoine Walker, Eddy Curry, DeShawn Stevenson.

I’ve followed this guy’s football career since high school. He beat us in the state championship my senior year. He was a phenomenal athlete. I’ll never forget thinking, “Wow! This dude is unstoppable.!” We graduated the same year from high school and went to rival colleges. He was a force on the field, and I remember sitting in the stadium, watching him run all over my college team. As much as I couldn’t stand us losing, it was better watching him win, because he was a beast. He left college earlier and continued his success in the NFL. We are the same age, and now he’s gone. When I heard it on the news this morning, my mouth dropped, and I shed a few tears. May his soul rest eternally in heaven.

Palmetto Bay is just across the dang highway from my house. Not even 5 minutes away. That is a very nice neighborhood. My mom called me at work and told me had been shot it wasn’t until I woke up this morning I found out he died. This was no robbery. I guarantee you this was retaliation for when he and his friends went and beat up/ I think shot that dude that he THOUGHT stole his ATV. The police dropped the felony charges and made them misdemeanor and put him on probation. The dude was also suing him. You see your past always comes back to haunt you. It seems he was beginning to change his life around ever since his daughter was born. I feel bad for his parents and daughter. She has no father. His parents have to bury their child. You are not suppose to bury your kids. He was a superb athlete and great person. Know you are loved by many. My thought and prayers to your loved ones. R.I.P. Mr. Taylor

It’s funny how a lot of you say “we need to stop the violence” but y’all still support rappers who say “bang, bang”..”shoot, shoot, made you look” . Y’all still buy that crap…50 cent, Lil Wayne. Put your rmoney where your mouth is and stop buying their music. RIP I lost a brother at 17 after a school fist fight…so I understand the pain…
I am not going to say that it is music…Dudes is in the street trying to get it..in anyway form or fashion…I think people are misguided by what is important in this life…we live in a society and advocate wealth as means to be in a power position..and it is so untrue…and before people blame music…Check what kind of dudes turn ya heads lady’s …a hardworker with walmart clothes…an old honda…living at his moms trying to get his credit strait…aint turning heads like rimmed up whips, bling, and name brand feet and clothes…this is what we are putting into our daughters heads…this is what we are putting into our mens heads…with proper PARENTAL guidance….you can subject a person to anything and they way the odds before acting…people who don’t have a person to rear them is raised by the streets and probably do listen to music like it is gospel…I blame their parents….not the storytellers…we watch just as much tv as we listen to music..and there have been far worst things to look at…Stop blaming it on people that ain’t neva stepped foot inside your home. And start getting with ya neices, nephews, and cousins…and see where you can help make more of an impact than that dude on the radio

A few weeks ago, this boy who attends my school snatched an ipod right out of this lady’s hand and ran off the bus with it. I remember saying, “Damn, your mama couldn’t buy you one?? and although that incident isn’t close to being as serious as this one is, it just goes to say that people oughta get off their asses to work for whatever it was they want. I live in South Florida and I last night on our local news, Seans father stated that he was responding to the doctors and I along with everybody else who were watching, had great hopes that he would pull through. So to wake up this morning and see the headline that he passed, really hurts my heart. Just recently i lost a friend to gun violence and its so sad when it has to come to that. No amount of money, or whatever it was the intruder was trying to steal, is worth taking someones life. As cliche as it sounds, when will all of this senseless violence end?! Hip Hop and music has become a convenient scapegoat and a poor one at that.
The dude who shot up Va. Tech was not influenced to do that because of rap.
And as far as the violence in the streets it is more about drugs and $$$ than a hot beat or a hot rhyme. These rappers of more imitators than innovators.
I admit that some rappers are glorifying the dope game and quick $$$, — they are typically speaking on what they see in the streets, they are not speaking it into existence. It was there before rap, it was there before hip-hop.
The highest grossing movie this month, American Gangster, was about the drugs and the money, over 30 years ago, and Frank Lucas and his co-horts didn’t have a record deal, and wasn’t trying to get one.

This is absolutely sad. It’s so sad that the good die and the good die young. There are too many people out here dying innocently, and for what, someone who’s too lazy to get a job, and wants a free handout. I guess it ain’t so free after all if you’re taking someone else’s life. Well this proves to show that the person or persons involved in this child’s innocent and senseless death will have to pay, not by man, but by our Heavenly Father. Only God gives life, and he alone takes life, no human being should take the life of another. Things like this makes me sick to my stomach. For the past few weeks, there are too many senseless deaths going on here. Dr. Donda West - died for no reason. She was beautiful the way God made her, she didn’t need to do that to herself. And now we have this young man Sean Taylor, who died innocently as well. All I can say is may God’s wrath be on those person(s) who killed this young man and left his child fatherless. May God be with his family and Kanye and his family during this difficult time. May we all (viewers and readers) continue to uplift those families in need through our encouraging words, support and prayers. God Bless. RIP.

His daughter brought peace and calm to him and facilitated that maturity. Now she has to grow up without him. I grieve for Redskins Nation. But most of all, I grieve for little Jackie and the rest of the Taylor family. R.I.P #36, #21, Best FS in the NFL…

This is so sad. I remember reading about him getting shot and I honestly thought that he was gonna be okay. I’m so shocked. I didn’t know him because I’m not a football fan but it’s still the same. This is crazy. He was so young. RIP and I hope whatever happens comes into light. My prayers go out to him and his family.

I agree with no. 65; Sean Taylor was a dude with a track record. I’m not saying that the brother deserved death but I’m not the Most High so neither I, nor anyone else is fit to say that death or what type of death is appropriate for any man or woman. Nor is anyone fit to say that death is not deserved. Maybe he was a good brother and the Lord killed him to take him away from the evil to come (Isa 57:1). Many people are saying that they hope that the killer is found so that justice can be served. What if Sean Taylor was wicked as hell and his death was the justice (Job 4:7)? It’s all speculation. Black people confuse me. They’ll be the first ones to exclaim that “we can’t judge anybody”, but then a negro that they don’t know from Adam will get killed and just because he/she is famous, the black community puts that person in Heaven on the right hand of Christ. The Lord is no respecter of persons when it’s time to die (II Sam 14:14, Ecc 8:8, Job 7:1). Sean Taylor is is heaven based on what? Because he was rich? Because he was a professional athlete? Please.
Then black people will claim to pray for someone who’s died when we should be praying for the blacks that are still here in Satan’s world (Matt 8:21,22, Mark 12:26,27). We have no understanding whatsoever (Hos 4:6) and as long as our people disrespect the Most High, he will not hear our prayers (Psa 80:4-7, Prov 28:9, Isa 59:1-4, Jer 11:14, Mic 3:4, Zech 7:9-13) . The fact of the matter is that his death is extremely suspicious and everyone is a suspect, including that girlfriend of his. This situation makes no sense and yet at the same time it makes alot of sense. It’s obviously a hit and the murderer wanted to make a point because he left the girlfriend alive. What that point is is something that we’ll have to wait to be exposed, as all things are (Luke 12:2). Honestly; Sean Taylor’s murder at first glance, seems to be on some personal vendetta type shit. It’s a high profile case and I expect the white man to have Taylor’s killers bagged and tagged for their perp-walk photo-op within 2 weeks.

I SMELL A RAT! SOMETHING IS SO WRONG WITH THIS STORY…..TOO MANY QUESTIONS?
FIRST, HE WAS SHOT IN HIS BEDROOM WHILE IN BED…..WASN’T HIS DOOR LOCKED, DID HE HAVE AN ALARM? HE SHOULD HAVE HEARD SOMETHING AMIST WAYY BEFORE THE PERPETRATOR GOT TO THE BEDROOM, UNLESS SOMEONE LEFT THE DOOR UNLOCKED AND DIDN’T SET THE ALARM….
SORRY, I’M A NATURAL SKEPTIC, OF COURSE, I COULD BE WRONG, BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY LOOSE ENDS TO THIS STORY. THIS SOUNDS SO SENSELESS, AND I’M TRYING TO UNDERSTAND SOME OF IT.
THE STORY IS THAT SOMEONE BROKE INTO THE HOUSE AND WENT DIRECTLY TO THE BEDROOM AND ONLY SHOT SEAN. FIRST, HOW DID THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE BEDROOM WAS? ( I BELIEVE THEY BEEN THERE BEFORE) WHY DIDN’T SEAN OR GIRLFRIEND HEAR SOMEONE COMING IN…THE HOUSE IS NOT SMALL, THEY WOULD HAVE HAD A LITTLE TIME TO PREPARE…PLUS, WHY WAS HE ONLY SHOT IN THE LEG?
MY HYPOTHESIS:
SOMEONE BROKE INTO SEAN’S HOUSE A WEEK BEFORE HE WAS SHOT….
HE PROBABLY KNEW WHO BROKE INTO HIS HOUSE (SOME OF HIS BROKE ASS CHILDHOOD FRIENDS HE STILL HANGS AROUND) AND WENT AND BEAT SOMEONE UP OR EITHER THREATENED SOMEONE…(THIS IS NOT FAR FETCHED IF YOU READ HIS BACKGROUND AND SEE THAT HE WAS SORT OF OUT THERE BEFORE AND WENT AND TWO YEARS PRIOR WENT AND THREATENED SOMEONE WITH A GUN WHO HE THOUGHT STOLE HIS TRUCK).
THE PERPS BROKE INTO THE HOUSE TO RETALIATE AND ONLY SHOT IHIM IN THE LEGS, I THINK THEY WERE TRYING TO END HIS FOOTBALL CAREER CAUSE HE’S A RUNNER, AND NOT KILL HIM (DUMMIES FORGOT PEOPLE CAN DIE FROM GUNSHOT WOUND TO LEG IF IT HITS THAT MAIN ARTERY).
I DON’T THINK THEY WANTED TO KILL HIM, AND THAT’S WHY THEY DIDN’T HURT HIS GIRLFRIEND OR BABY, CAUSE LET’S FACE IT, THESE DAYS PERPS GET IN, AND THEY KILLIN EVERYBODY.
SORRY ABOUT THE LONG HYPOTHESIS, BUT SOMETHINGS ARE SO SENSELESS THAT SOMETIMES IT HELPS ME TO TRY TO MAKE SOME SENSE OF OUT IT…..CAUSE OTHER THAN THAT, I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS AT ALL AND IT JUST MAKES ME ANGRY….
WHATEVER THE STORY, SEAN DIDN’T DESERVE THIS….VIOLENCE IS NEVER A SOLUTION….
RIP SEAN, MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FAMILY.

I’m not even going to get into all this speculation about what happened because I don’t know. There may have been some dirt done on both parts, but GOD knows what happened and HE is and always will be the true judge in the end. I heard that Sean turned his life around after he had his daughter, which for the most part, is the only thing that matters. ThinkAboutIt said: “These young athletes are targets - they work hard at their craft, only to be faced with do nothing folks, who have no ambition, goals or morals, and live only to take away what somebody else has worked for. There have been an increase of home invasions on young black athletes - Antoine Walker, Eddy Curry, DeShawn Stevenson.”
This murder sounded more like a “gang-wars” than “home invasions” or robbery! All of these people are acquainted with each other and usually fighting over chicken-heads, drug or money! Maybe the term “home invasion” can apply, but not in the random sense. I hardly believe DeShawn was fast asleep during his ordeal!!
These types of incidents should make parents feel relieved that their son or daughter didn’t make it into the big leagues! Young athletes become targets when they flash the cash and try to run with the Big Dawgs. The strip clubs, night-life and bars belong to the thugs! A young man with million$ need to avoid the underground! You don’t see this $#!T happening to young women athletes, because they have common sense to avoid trouble or they only get into cat fights!!
Don’t label them as victims or targets until you know all the facts! And, the majority of cases like Sean’s and DeShawn’s are not random, but attitudes and disrespect among acquaintences! Most of them don’t have to work hard at their craft to make into the Pros! The athleticism for black men is a gift from God and all we do is use what He gave us! Competing and winning comes easy for most of us! Much easier than going to College to get some knowledge!
So, we fall further behind!!!

#96 I am fortunately a female. What i’m saying is just because I listen to rap does not make me a violent criminal. I am far from that. As a matter of fact I have a high position in the corporate world. The excuse lies on us, not the rap music. I am a mother of 3 teenage boys, 19, 17 and 15 who also listen to rap and yes I allow them to listen to it. Why shield them from it when they are going to hear it out in the street or from family and friends anyway. But not once have i been to school for my child/children being disruptive or have any on them being suspended from school or accused of disrespecting authority or anyone for that matter. My son is a freshman at an HBCU and doing quite well I might add. My other son is a senior and participates in various activities at shcool and the other is a freshman in high shcool and plays various sports.I give all the Glory to GOD for the way that they are. but it is also because every since they were little i taught them Morals and Values of respecting themselves and more importantly others and the Value you of life. I always to them the are not the giver of life so they have no right to take it away except in the case of self defense. So yes, at the end of the day it all comes down to home training. You can never say what your child will or want do but it starts from the home.

You’re right, they may not be random, because people know who they are, what they have and where and how they live. The DeShawn Stevenson case suggest that he invited some woman from the club over, so no he wasn’t asleep. But the point is, if they didn’t have the $$$, they wouldn’t be getting robbed, and because they are high profile and because they are still hanging out and dealing with some folk that mean no good they do make themselves more vunerable.
They could protect themselves by making better choices, no doubt, but that doesn’t change the fact that somebody is taking from them what is their’s - their money, their jewels - Their Life.

What are ya’ll, two of those women in the church that want to usurp the authority of a man, lmao. The topic is Sean Taylor but you’re talking about a curse word that I used at the end of two paragraphs. Instead of worrying about that, you should be more concerned with your woeful reading comprehension skills. I didn’t say to not judge, I said that black people say to not judge. Read it again and let it marinate, lol. In regards to cursing, it’s a bad habit but many men of the Lord used foul language, but most of you church people are stuck on the frosting instead of the cake (Isa 6:5, II Cor 11:6)

“Sean was awakened with his girlfriend and 18-month old baby,” Sharpstein said. There were “noises, thumps in the living room.” Taylor “got up and locked the bedroom door. Before he could do anything, the door was kicked in and two shots were fired — one hit him in the leg, one went into the wall.”
Taylor “was on the floor, non-responsive, bleeding out and chest heaving, eyes rolled back and he was pretty much gone from that point on,” Sharpstein said.
Taylor’s girlfriend “tried to call 911 and it’s unclear whether the phone lines were cut or the phone was broken or off or unplugged or turned off,” said Sharpstein. “She had to use her cell phone to eventually call 911.”
“Whether this was a purposeful action in taking Sean’s life or in shooting him or whether it was a burglary gone awry, the police are still investigating those circumstances,” Sharpstein said.
The attorney said Taylor was home unexpectedly due to an injury, and “no one expected him there.”
“I think he was surprised or they were surprised to find him there,” Sharpstein said.
Lt. Nancy Perez with the Miami-Dade Police Department said investigators were looking for an “unknown suspect.”
Taylor’s home also was reported broken into eight days earlier on November 18, according to Miami-Dade police.
During that incident, someone forced open a window and left a kitchen knife on a bed, according to the police report. Several drawers and a bedroom safe had been searched during the break-in, the report said.
No one knows whether the first invasion is related to Monday’s attack, Sharpstein said. “It is a high probability that it was the same people or some related people that returned.”
According to the police report, Taylor’s mother reported the break-in, saying it occurred while the house was empty. Police found a window pried open, but could not confirm if anything was missing.
Observers searching for a motive for his killing put Taylor’s police record under renewed scrutiny. In 2005, he was arrested after he was accused of waving a gun at people he believed were stealing his all-terrain vehicles, according to Sharpstein.
“He got into fisticuffs, but no gun,” Sharpstein said.
After originally being charged with aggravated assault, Taylor pleaded to a misdemeanor battery in the case, Sharpstein said. A civil suit stemming from the case remains open. “There’s still a lot of open ends to that,” he said.

They don’t get robbed because they have the money…! I believe they get robbed because they flash it and they enter into bad relationships with leaches and thugs! Most of these “Pro” night-lifers hit the strip clubs and hire prostitutes as soon as the game is over. Only Kobe tried to take his from the hotel staff!
How do you take money from someone who has their money in the bank? How can you take jewels from someone who can afford a home safe? I think these men are vunerable by choice! They get robbed and disrespected when the flash and use people!
The “enemy” comes to kill and destroy like a theif in the night! That’s his job! There are men and women who get to be rich by taking wealth from the simple-minded and weak! Selena was killed by her assistant, Yolanda Saldivar who thought Selena owed her something! Too many crazy people out there!
Nothing is sadder than a young person’s life getting cut short, but power and fame ain’t nothing to play with!! DeShawn was raised by a single mom! His story is a one in a million! His father has watched everyone of his games from a cell! He started his career with a rape charge on a minor! He just don’t get it!!!
Again, young athletes have the wealth of an old man, but the mind and understanding of youngsters! Money and immaturity don’t mix! It took Michael Jordan a lifetime to learn his lessons and he still lost his father, gambled off millions and now divorced! I consider him a wise man with his wealth, but I don’t wish his troubles on anyone!
There’s more to these stories than we’ll ever know!

On November 26, 2007, at 1:45 AM., Taylor was shot in the upper leg by an armed intruder at his Palmetto Bay home, critically wounding him by severing his femoral artery. His girlfriend tried to call police from the house line, only to discover the line had been cut, and proceeded to call 911 from her cell phone, which delayed response time.

Its really sad and unexpected because last night his father held a press conference at jackson and he was saying that taylor was responsive so everyone was optimistic about a speedy recovery, i know i was. its the fact that the bullet hit a major femoral artery so his blood wasnt receiving enough oxygen so thats when organs begin to fail.

Once again sis, the topic is Sean Taylor, not me. Do you have anything pertinent to say on his murder? I’m not going to go back and forth with you because honestly, you obviously don’t have anything to say and you gravitated to my comment because you’re perplexed that there are still black people that can analyze a serious situation without saying, “That’s so sad…”, or “Wow!”, lol. Let’s keep it real though, you’ve been reading my comments for awhile, getting vexed more and more, and you couldn’t hold it in any longer. Lol. You’re going to continue to only agitate yourself because I’m a man and I speak how a man is supposed to speak, not like those effeminate negroes in your church (if you’re even black). The scriptures speak on the tongue and it also speaks on how a woman should dress and conduct herself. Do you follow those precepts or was that for “back then”, lol?
You want my identity? Why? If you want a picture just ask, lol. If you want to be taught, give me your email and stop being rebellious. That “the devil quotes scripture” nonsense is getting so tired and it’s something that bible-thumpers say when they run into someone who really knows what they’re talking about (Matt 12:24-27). One of the main reasons why these black men continue to kill each other is because there are so few real black men that stand for anything and so many sisters that try to strongarm black men because the white man has their back. It’s sad.

———————————————————————————————————————-
It depresses all of us to know that Sean’s life has been cut short, but the circumstances surrounding his murder suggest that is was “blah blah” and not a home invasion! Rarely do these things happen randomly! Sean’s legs were his bread and butter and someone tried to end his career, but what they didn’t intend to do was commit murder! And, the motive for such a crime is never about robbery! Thevies want to take your stuff and make clean get aways! They never want to use violence or force. Only someone with a evil vendeta or ulterior motive would stoop so low!
It doesn’t tarnish is image for those who knew and loved him! It only serves as a warning to other pro athletes that it’s time to live up to the blessings they receive! To those who much is given…much is required! If you are blessed to make millions, you can’t keep hanging out in the hood and kickin it with “DoRay” nem! Stay on a different level!
It’s no secret that a majority of the pro athletes, get high, get drunk, use steriods, gamble heavy, strip club experts, and they squeeze on as many shorties as they can! That lifestyle is very common for black and white pros!
Sometimes they get in too deep!
Now, we can close our eyes and pretend that this was a random invasion, but the clearer message can be used to help someone like Labron James or Dwight Howard or Randy Moss! Even though Kobe was aquitted, his rape case sent a clear message to all Pros that they are not above the law!

phone lines cut…killer kicks the door in and fires two shots…it doesnt sound like a home invasion or robbery to me.
I dont follow fb but I was shocked when I heard that he didnt make it. Such a horrible waste of life.
You can chase money all your life, get it and die the next day. He earned his but there’s millions of folks out there hustlin’ in unrighteous ways for paper, forsaking family and their own souls-you think this will make them think twice?

I was having a friendly exchange with #33 Thinkaboutit! She said that: “There have been an increase of home invasions on young black athletes - Antoine Walker, Eddy Curry, DeShawn Stevenson.”
I just told her that a home invasion or robbery has the implication of a “burglary gone awry!” And, in both incidents nothing was stolen! Only a life! So, in response to her comment above, I was talking about Deshawn, Sean and Diddy too, if he says someone came into his home to take his jewelry!
Sorry, if we strayed to far from your center!

why does his girlfriend have to be a “bitch that set him up?” maybe she is, maybe she isn’t, but the only thing we know for a fact is that the mother of his baby girl is without her partner, and is mother to fatherless child.
another thought, and it’s quite simple: it’s not a robbery if nothing was stolen, LOL. it was a hit, plain and simple — especially if the phone lines were cut, my God. the fact that someone broke into his house and left a knife on his bed a week prior is indication enough that there was nothing random about this crime at all.

OKAY THIS IS HORRIBLE GUNS ARE DANGEROUS!. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THIS FAMILY.
With that being said…I have read some of the posts and I have to say that I am in disagreement with those that say negative images, connotations etc. in the media don’t contribute to the activity of various people. GARBAGE in GARBAGE out. Violence and killing folk is glorified everyday. Please know that some fools can’t separate fact from fiction. And frankly why would anyone that has ever been exposed (or not ) to violence, death , poverty and pain even want to have it reintroduced with bullshit imagery. Really people its not enough to feel sorry for folks after the fact.
I have heard a lot of people defending TI’s dumb ass for buying illegal guns for whatever you wanna believe the reason is. But just food for thought…I am so sure that the gun used to kill Mr. Taylor was illegally gotten. When do we stop the insanity? After a death or before. This ish is so real I just saw someone who was shot..susequently went blind as a result of there injuries and has been hospitalized for the last YEAR with various problems. The individual is less the 30 years old. Can you imagine that???? Really can you? Death for some may have been easier. Now really why in the hell would anyone want to hear an idiot rap about guns and butter after hearing and seeing that!?

This is another tragic loss of a young life.
I live here in Miami and the initial reports I heard seem to indicate a home invasion(”he and his wife were awakened by noises and he went downstais to confront the intruder”) I do not know the facts and from reading the comments here it seems that most people don’t either - everyone has his/ her own information.
I would suggest that some of us refrain from trying to justify the taking of this man’s life based on innuendos and rumors.
I am also amazed how some supposedly religious people can spew so much hatred in God’s name. I thought that all of us are supposed to the God’s children and as such that he/she would have unconditional love for us.

I am very, very saddened about our loss of Sean Taylor. I am extremely angry about the violent mind set of a lot of our people. I’m tired of everyone blaming “the white man” for our oppression and poverty, BUT WE ARE OUR OWN ENEMIES. Black people are killing each other; not white people mostly killing blacks. We are killing each other and, believe me, they are laughing about it. My heart breaks every time a young life is stolen.

My heart goes out to the Taylor Family. I do believe that we’re living in the book of Revelations and it’s only a matter of time before Jesus comes back to claim his own. In the meantime, some of us can state “the community can pull together to make a difference”, but when it all comes down to it, it starts at home. People need to stop blaming music and blame the parent’s for raising crazy, heartless criminals. When parents don’t show love or interest during the tender years of a child’s life, they grow up to be resentful and don’t value life. We don’t need the Klan or Al Quaida, we’re doing the job for them. Sorry to preach. Love You Guys!

R. I. P. Sean Taylor and may the angel’s be encamped around your family.
As for you Judah you are not aware of who is reading and writing comments. Yes the subject was about the death of someone who made a change in their life. They found a profound peace within. If you have bible knowledge and then you have the knowledge of what is being said well here is my history…My ancestor’s are Micheal, Job, Mose’s, Abraham, Ruth, Naomi, etc. I don’t want to know your identity because you are not sure of who you are. I’m secure in my identity and it is not givin to the negro’s nor the whites. It does disturb me that you a man of GOD who is negative in which most of your comments are. Yes I am talking too you…
Sean Taylor has left us or should I say this world and is resting. But he leaves behind a child who will never know her father. But with much prayer in which I’m sure you do little of… this child can live out her father’s legacy….So the wall of Jericho that you are putting up needs to come down. Let the trumphet’s sound 7 times around your city….

Are you saying that God could be he/she? Interesting! No…strange!
And where did you get that quote: (”he and his wife were awakened by noises and he went downstais to confront the intruder”)? She wasn’t his wife!!! She was his babies mamma! His hoe!
And, does unconditional love mean that it is an injustice to speculate the taking of this man’s life based on innuendos and rumors? Listen…Sean was our brother! A part of us died when he died! So, don’t start making up quotes and trying to deny people their opinions and right to discern the issues!

His death was a setup big time. I wouldn’t be surprise if it was his baby mama (Jackie Garcia) who set him up. I mean Sean doesn’ even have “a will” that means Jackie and their daughter ain’t getting shit. Jackie ain’t getting the house or the cars or the money and she was probably pissed off about that and wanted his ass dead.

HIS GIRLFRIEND IS THE KILLER…JACKIE GARCIA. It is sooo obvious she set him up. It could be for sooo many reasons. Jealousy, money, cheating…anything. And if ya’ll heard Sean Taylor didn’t have a will. Sooo his baby mama knew about that shit before he died and she was probably ticked off about that shit. Her side of the story doesn’t sound right. Somethng ain’t right ………She most def set him up. How is someone going to break in his house and only shoot him but not her? If i break into someone’s house i’m killing everyone (besides the baby) because I don’t want any witnesses. Soooo whhhyyyy wouldn’t the murder kill her? She witnessed everything. Sooo she should have gotten shot also. I mean having the covers over your head doesn’t mean shit. And if I was his girfriend I would have taken the baby hid in the bathroom with a gun jumped out shot him three times sooo fast and then got help….hiding under the covers my ass…I’m going to fight to save my family.

Toddler, slain in home invasion, is buried; suspect is still sought
By JANETTE RODRIGUES, The Virginian-Pilot

Ny-Asia Imani Tillmon was her family’s joy – a 1-year-old child with chubby cheeks who was just learning to walk.
She was mourned and buried Friday, after being shot to death last week in her grandmother’s South Norfolk apartment.
Chesapeake Police are still looking for three men wanted in connection with the home invasion in the 3600 block of Bainbridge Blvd.
Wanted fliers for a suspect identified as Shawn Sir Charles Ward were sent to state and other local law enforcement authorities, said Christi Golden, police spokeswoman. Witnesses described the other men as two black males, ages 18 to 21, wearing masks over their faces and dressed in hoodies.
Police have no new leads.
“We received a lot of calls at the beginning of the week as to where he may be, and we are still receiving a couple of calls on a daily basis, but nothing that has led to his arrest,” Golden said of Ward.
The last reported sighting of Ward was in the Campostella Square neighborhood around Parkside Drive in South Norfolk.
Ny-Asia’s family laid her to rest in a Campostella Road cemetery.

Escheat: Heir: person, who inherits property from the estate of a deceased person who died without a will.
As a RE in Texas the estate would be passed by the intestate.
in fla..Intestate: Refers to dying without a will or other designation of how one’s property should pass. So…..Intestate property will pass to the decedents heirs. ( his daughter)…
Plain and simple… the child will be Very well taken care of if he has saved ANY MONEY.. and his girlfriend/fiance will be in charge of Her daughters finances to a certain extent.

It was very saddening hearing about this Miami natives home invasion and shooting on Monday evening but hope was that he was holding on to life. Everyone was praying for him to make it. I thought he would but when I got a text message around 7 am that he had passed Tuesday morning I was really disheartened. I saw footage of Sean Taylors father on the news Monday night and he looked choked up about it. The violence has to end. People just dont birth children into this world, raise them up to be the best that God has for them and then let someone rob them out of precious life.

I just finished reading the NFL version of the story and it sounds like he had his run ins with a few people and could have been leaving behind some enemies who were stupid enough to have done this. Its apparent that this was there 2nd time coming to his home and the first time leaving behind a knife on the bed was an obvious threat he shouldnt have taken lightly.
The girlfriend seems to be the first person who comes to everyones mind because she wasnt killed, but I seriously doubt that she had anything to do with it. Other than being cowardly enough to hide under the sheets instead of trying to look at the faces of the murders who killed her daughters father. If she would have identified them she may have been able to put together suspects that could arrest the people behind his murder. Im sure its possible that she may have seen them b4.

All we can do is pray……the world is and will come to an end…no one knows the time or day of their death but everything happens for a reason. It may be inconvenient to some but only God knows the real reason. We cant sit here and blame the music industry or morals and values….I listen to the most hardcore rap and have never had any thoughts or intentions of wantin to hurt anybody. We cant sit here and say I blame the parents because when its all said and done, people are going to do what they want to do in the end. Ok Ok, everybody has their own theories about what happened but lets face it, none of us were there. Half of you people got ya’ll stories twisted and the other half are basically talking out of your asses. What kills me is how people and even journalist down here in florida, has so much to say about his run ins with the law. PEOPLE!!!! a man lost his life. Period. His child is now without a father. His father is not without a child. Who cares abour his past. Let us all have some class. What upsets me even more is people who didnt even know this man, says he was flashy and and immature. Some of you even went as far as to say he was a drug dealer. Have ya’ll seen his damn house?? I’m not trying to be negative but Sean Taylor was not innocent. He done alot of ish and had enemies. He has been in alot of trouble. The media is trying to play alot of stuff down. He may have calm down but even after his daughter was born he was getting into trouble. There was nothing random about this situation. You’re house is broken into, nothing is stolen, a knife is left on your bed….the next week someone breaks into your home, cuts the phone lines, again, nothing is stolen….wtf? That killing was planned.
I agree with those that said the girlfriend needs to be questioned. Because judging from the stories that has been released, she looks suspicious. Your girlfriend is in the same room but she doesn’t get shot? Nope. Something isn’t right.

Hearing about the DEATH of Sean Michael Maurice Taylor HURT me DEEPLY. I don’t even know the guy…..I didn’t even know that he existed until it was all over the news that a FOOTBALL STAR died. I don’t even watch football. But I was drawn to know more about him. I don’t know what it is that jus draws me to him. I cried for the past two days. Last night before I laid my head on my pillow I cried even more just thinking about his DAUGHTER Everytime I think about his DAUGHTER my eyes starts swelling and the tears come like a flood and I just can’t stop crying. While I’m sitting here behind the computer I’m started to cry again. People die everyday and I’m trying to figure out what it is about him that got me so choked up. No matter how much I don’t want to cry…I cry…and I will cry alot. I don’t even know this guy…never ever watched him played…no ever really much of a football fan. But Tuesday when I heard about Sean Taylor’s tragic death I was sad at first and then I did some research on him. Learning a little bit of things about him hear and ther. And then I went on youtube.com watching videos of him being on the field..just KICKING EVERYBODY’S ASS. And I’m thiking to myself this is one bad man who really loved in what he did. Then it really started to hit me and the next thing I just started crying. What really got me all chocked up is when they showed a clip o him holding his daughter. His babygirl. DAMN now she is going to grow up without her farther. She isn’t going to have the chance to go to any of her father’s games to cheer him on. Her father isn’t going to be around to get up in the morning to take his baby girl Jackie to school on her first day . His daughter is going to have to understand that her farther isn’t goin to be around when she goes off to middle school and off to hgh school and attending her first HOMECOMING she isn’t going to see her daddy smiling at her when she will look sooo beautiful on her way to PROM with her date. Her farther isn’t going to be around when she starts dating. She isn’t going to have her farther walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. This killer this selfish ignorant killer needs to be brought in. And I’v been praying everyday tha God will help these people find this killer. No I have faith God will bring everything into light and his killer will be found and everyone will be able to let Sean rest in peace. I pray that when Jackie waits until her daughter is old enough to understand in what happen that day when her father was shot and I pray that her daughter will understand in why her daddy is no longer around. I pray that will not resent God for her father’s death but forgive ther person who took her daddy away. Its hard……………
