I heard about this on the radio this morning, so sad. He was only 24 years old and too young to die. I hope they catch his killer. R.I. P. Sean Taylor.

Another senseless death, but all things happen for a reason and are a part of God’s overall plan of life. We can’t plan our death, stay close to the ones you love. Tell them that you love them now before its too late. And try to put life into perspective.

This is just so sad, another young brotha trying to do to the right thing, I understand he had gotten in some trouble but was really following the rules of his punishment and that he also had a daughter that he adored and that he also had a fiance. I hope they find the murderer(s) and lock them up for good…good ridance.

This is so sad. My husband was shot in the leg 5 years ago when someone attmepted to rob him. This morning, I told him to count his blessings. I woke up to this news this morning. Our men are dying.

These young athletes are targets - they work hard at their craft, only to be faced with do nothing folks, who have no ambition, goals or morals, and live only to take away what somebody else has worked for. I’ve followed this guy’s football career since high school. He beat us in the state championship my senior year. He was a phenomenal athlete. I’ll never forget thinking, “Wow! This dude is unstoppable.!” We graduated the same year from high school and went to rival colleges. He was a force on the field, and I remember sitting in the stadium, watching him run all over my college team. As much as I couldn’t stand us losing, it was better watching him win, because he was a beast. He left college earlier and continued his success in the NFL. We are the same age, and now he’s gone. When I heard it on the news this morning, my mouth dropped, and I shed a few tears. May his soul rest eternally in heaven.

Palmetto Bay is just across the dang highway from my house. Not even 5 minutes away. That is a very nice neighborhood. My mom called me at work and told me had been shot it wasn’t until I woke up this morning I found out he died. This was no robbery. I guarantee you this was retaliation for when he and his friends went and beat up/ I think shot that dude that he THOUGHT stole his ATV. The police dropped the felony charges and made them misdemeanor and put him on probation. The dude was also suing him. You see your past always comes back to haunt you. It seems he was beginning to change his life around ever since his daughter was born. I feel bad for his parents and daughter. She has no father. His parents have to bury their child. You are not suppose to bury your kids. He was a superb athlete and great person. Know you are loved by many. My thought and prayers to your loved ones. R.I.P. Mr. Taylor

He was a drug driver and a drug dealer. No surprise that he got sniped out. This was a personal hit not a random act of violence; it’s obvious because of the details surrounding the break in several days earlier with the knife left on the bed.

@62 I believe hip hop is always used as a scapegoat when violence occurs. Me personally I am a Jay stan and I love T.I. but I have never had the urge to sell or buy drugs and purchase guns. A few weeks ago, this boy who attends my school snatched an ipod right out of this lady’s hand and ran off the bus with it. I remember saying, “Damn, your mama couldn’t buy you one?? and although that incident isn’t close to being as serious as this one is, it just goes to say that people oughta get off their asses to work for whatever it was they want. I live in South Florida and I last night on our local news, Seans father stated that he was responding to the doctors and I along with everybody else who were watching, had great hopes that he would pull through. So to wake up this morning and see the headline that he passed, really hurts my heart. Just recently i lost a friend to gun violence and its so sad when it has to come to that. No amount of money, or whatever it was the intruder was trying to steal, is worth taking someones life. As cliche as it sounds, when will all of this senseless violence end?! This is truly sad…and may God bless us all in this crazy world.

The dude who shot up Va. Tech was not influenced to do that because of rap.
And as far as the violence in the streets it is more about drugs and $$$ than a hot beat or a hot rhyme. These rappers of more imitators than innovators.

I admit that some rappers are glorifying the dope game and quick $$$, — they are typically speaking on what they see in the streets, they are not speaking it into existence. It was there before rap, it was there before hip-hop.

The highest grossing movie this month, American Gangster, was about the drugs and the money, over 30 years ago, and Frank Lucas and his co-horts didn’t have a record deal, and wasn’t trying to get one.

This is absolutely sad. It’s so sad that the good die and the good die young. There are too many people out here dying innocently, and for what, someone who’s too lazy to get a job, and wants a free handout. I agree with no. 65; Sean Taylor was a dude with a track record. I’m not saying that the brother deserved death but I’m not the Most High so neither I, nor anyone else is fit to say that death or what type of death is appropriate for any man or woman. Nor is anyone fit to say that death is not deserved. Maybe he was a good brother and the Lord killed him to take him away from the evil to come (Isa 57:1). Many people are saying that they hope that the killer is found so that justice can be served. What if Sean Taylor was wicked as hell and his death was the justice (Job 4:7)? It’s all speculation. Black people confuse me. They’ll be the first ones to exclaim that “we can’t judge anybody”, but then a negro that they don’t know from Adam will get killed and just because he/she is famous, the black community puts that person in Heaven on the right hand of Christ. The Lord is no respecter of persons when it’s time to die (II Sam 14:14, Ecc 8:8, Job 7:1). Sean Taylor is is heaven based on what? Because he was rich? Because he was a professional athlete? Then black people will claim to pray for someone who’s died when we should be praying for the blacks that are still here in Satan’s world (Matt 8:21,22, Mark 12:26,27). The fact of the matter is that his death is extremely suspicious and everyone is a suspect, including that girlfriend of his. This situation makes no sense and yet at the same time it makes alot of sense. It’s obviously a hit and the murderer wanted to make a point because he left the girlfriend alive. What that point is is something that we’ll have to wait to be exposed, as all things are (Luke 12:2). Honestly; Sean Taylor’s murder at first glance, seems to be on some personal vendetta type shit. It’s a high profile case and I expect the white man to have Taylor’s killers bagged and tagged for their perp-walk photo-op within 2 weeks.

My heart and prayers goes out to the Taylor family, his girlfriend and especially his daughter. I mprayer that as she gets older she will know how much hwe daddy loved her and what a good man it wa before his untimely death. Sean Taylor will be missed dearly. You can never say what your child will or want do but it starts from the home.

The DeShawn Stevenson case suggest that he invited some woman from the club over, so no he wasn’t asleep. Taylor’s home also was reported broken into eight days earlier on November 18, according to Miami-Dade police.

During that incident, someone forced open a window and left a kitchen knife on a bed, according to the police report. Several drawers and a bedroom safe had been searched during the break-in, the report said.

No one knows whether the first invasion is related to Monday’s attack, Sharpstein said. “It is a high probability that it was the same people or some related people that returned.”

According to the police report, Taylor’s mother reported the break-in, saying it occurred while the house was empty. Police found a window pried open, but could not confirm if anything was missing.

Observers searching for a motive for his killing put Taylor’s police record under renewed scrutiny. In 2005, he was arrested after he was accused of waving a gun at people he believed were stealing his all-terrain vehicles, according to Sharpstein.

“He got into fisticuffs, but no gun,” Sharpstein said.

After originally being charged with aggravated assault, Taylor pleaded to a misdemeanor battery in the case, Sharpstein said. A civil suit stemming from the case remains open. “There’s still a lot of open ends to that,” he said.

Rest In Peace Mr. Sean Taylor…He is from my hometown, Miami and the local news stations are really focusing on his death however supposedly detectives don’t have the intruder in custody. Its really sad and unexpected because last night his father held a press conference at jackson and he was saying that taylor was responsive so everyone was optimistic about a speedy recovery, i know i was. its the fact that the bullet hit a major femoral artery so his blood wasnt receiving enough oxygen so thats when organs begin to fail.

and it is reported that someone had burglarized his home either 8 days ago or on nov.17 so this act may very well be correlated.

But just food for thought…I am so sure that the gun used to kill Mr. Taylor was illegally gotten. When do we stop the insanity? After a death or before. This ish is so real I just saw someone who was shot..susequently went blind as a result of there injuries and has been hospitalized for the last YEAR with various problems. The individual is less the 30 years old. Can you imagine that???? Really can you? Death for some may have been easier. Now really why in the hell would anyone want to hear an idiot rap about guns and butter after hearing and seeing that!?

I live here in Miami and the initial reports I heard seem to indicate a home invasion(”he and his wife were awakened by noises and he went downstais to confront the intruder”) I do not know the facts and from reading the comments here it seems that most people don’t either - everyone has his/ her own information.
I would suggest that some of us refrain from trying to justify the taking of this man’s life based on innuendos and rumors.
I am also amazed how some supposedly religious people can spew so much hatred in God’s name. I thought that all of us are supposed to the God’s children and as such that he/she would have unconditional love for us.

Ny-Asia Imani Tillmon was her family’s joy – a 1-year-old child with chubby cheeks who was just learning to walk.

She was mourned and buried Friday, after being shot to death last week in her grandmother’s South Norfolk apartment.

Chesapeake Police are still looking for three men wanted in connection with the home invasion in the 3600 block of Bainbridge Blvd.

Wanted fliers for a suspect identified as Shawn Sir Charles Ward were sent to state and other local law enforcement authorities, said Christi Golden, police spokeswoman. Witnesses described the other men as two black males, ages 18 to 21, wearing masks over their faces and dressed in hoodies.

Police have no new leads.

“We received a lot of calls at the beginning of the week as to where he may be, and we are still receiving a couple of calls on a daily basis, but nothing that has led to his arrest,” Golden said of Ward.

The last reported sighting of Ward was in the Campostella Square neighborhood around Parkside Drive in South Norfolk.

Ny-Asia’s family laid her to rest in a Campostella Road cemetery.

It was very saddening hearing about this Miami natives home invasion and shooting on Monday evening but hope was that he was holding on to life. Everyone was praying for him to make it. I thought he would but when I got a text message around 7 am that he had passed Tuesday morning I was really disheartened. I saw footage of Sean Taylors father on the news Monday night and he looked choked up about it. The violence has to end. People just dont birth children into this world, raise them up to be the best that God has for them and then let someone rob them out of precious life.

I just finished reading the NFL version of the story and it sounds like he had his run ins with a few people and could have been leaving behind some enemies who were stupid enough to have done this. Its apparent that this was there 2nd time coming to his home and the first time leaving behind a knife on the bed was an obvious threat he shouldnt have taken lightly.

The girlfriend seems to be the first person who comes to everyones mind because she wasnt killed, but I seriously doubt that she had anything to do with it. Other than being cowardly enough to hide under the sheets instead of trying to look at the faces of the murders who killed her daughters father. If she would have identified them she may have been able to put together suspects that could arrest the people behind his murder. Im sure its possible that she may have seen them b4.

All we can do is pray……the world is and will come to an end…no one knows the time or day of their death but everything happens for a reason. It may be inconvenient to some but only God knows the real reason. We cant sit here and blame the music industry or morals and values….I listen to the most hardcore rap and have never had any thoughts or intentions of wantin to hurt anybody. Hearing about the DEATH of Sean Michael Maurice Taylor HURT me DEEPLY. I don’t even know the guy…..I didn’t even know that he existed until it was all over the news that a FOOTBALL STAR died. I don’t even watch football. But I was drawn to know more about him. I don’t know what it is that jus draws me to him. I cried for the past two days. Last night before I laid my head on my pillow I cried even more just thinking about his DAUGHTER Everytime I think about his DAUGHTER my eyes starts swelling and the tears come like a flood and I just can’t stop crying. While I’m sitting here behind the computer I’m started to cry again. People die everyday and I’m trying to figure out what it is about him that got me so choked up. No matter how much I don’t want to cry…I cry…and I will cry alot. I don’t even know this guy…never ever watched him played…no ever really much of a football fan. But Tuesday when I heard about Sean Taylor’s tragic death I was sad at first and then I did some research on him. Learning a little bit of things about him hear and ther. And then I went on youtube.com watching videos of him being on the field..just KICKING EVERYBODY’S ASS. And I’m thiking to myself this is one bad man who really loved in what he did. Then it really started to hit me and the next thing I just started crying. What really got me all chocked up is when they showed a clip o him holding his daughter. His babygirl.
