I grew up on Janet (starting from her first album to her last), New Edition, Mary J., Earth Wind and Fire, MC Hammer, Father MC, Slick Rick, Doug E Fresh. All of them dance while singing. I have been around performers all of my life from styling them to marketing them and I have yet to see one that can dance and sing at the same time without being winded! This girl was BORN to perform and trained well by her father. Whose father makes them run 2 miles while singing (other than the military). This girl has trained like this since 9 years old. I do however, think she needs to take a hiatus of at least a year. She needs to slow down after this tour and regroup. Sometimes you oversaturate the marketplace and it becomes OVERDRIVE! I will buy the DVD for my 9 year old as a memory to her first concert. We are from Baltimore and we missed the show here. However, we drove five hours to see the show in Cleveland. I tell you it was worth every bit of penny that I spent from the hotel, meals, and gas. We enjoyed it best concert ever!!!! Second to Jay Z at Madison Garden when R kelly backed out and all of his friends came threw.

You said that her tour overseas flopped? Ya kidding me, right? I read in the paper that she had 70,000 come out to see her in Thailand or the Philippines. And she had 50,000 attendants at her concert in Ethiopia. She was treated like true royalty by the government of every country she went to. There were pictures of her with Kings, Presidents and Patriarchs. I’m still trying to figure out why blogs like this one didn’t mention ANY of the news items I just mentioned. It’s not like there weren’t any articles or VIDEO PROOF of all of this happening. I am actually really disheartened that NONE of the world tour action got any mention. Beyonce was going into nations that hardly like our government yet were treating a black sista like Beyonce like royalty. I don’t care if you’re a hater or whateva but you HAVE to give the girl props. She was representing our race to the rest of the world with class and grace. Take some time off from the hating to replenish all of the oxygen lost and appreciate what Beyonce has been able to do the last 6 months of her world tour. Then you’ll wonder why anyone wastes so much time and energy to talk about how the girl looks from head to toe.

BEYONCE is the ISH! HATERS ABORT ABORT! I went to this concert and it was worth EVERY bit of the $125 ticket! She definitely puts on a show and gives the crowd what they expect and MORE! There has not been an artist of her callaber in our generation. Even if you are a Beyonce hater you must give her the respect she SO deserves! I must admit, she is a little overexposed at the moment, but you got to get it while you’re hot…and she is GETTING IT!

I know this issue has NOTHING to do with Beyonce but I was wondering if CL has been keeping up with the story about unequal rights and injustice towards African Americans within the US Department of Justice.

Rev Al Sharpton and the National Action Network have put together a rally that is taking place in DC (as I type) so that their voices will be heard. People from all over are showing up to take a stand and fight for their rights. I think its very important that we get the word out about this issue. Hate crimes are being committed all over the US and are being thrown right under the rug. A lot of people especially young folks have no idea that once again history is taking place in DC because there is no coverage about this rally on CNN, MSNBC, or FOX. No one seems to be discussing this important issue besides a few radio stations (Michael Basiden, Steve Harvey and Tom Joyner) and through word of mouth through the internet. I know it may be too late for anyone to consider going to DC if they are just finding out about it but PLEASE read up on this story that I have linked at Black America Web.

Though I initially thought BDAY was a crap album. I took it for what it was & enjoyed it for the corny-ness & fun campy-ness of it.

BUT I will say. I went to her concert (for free with the WNBA team I work for…and initially said I wouldn’t ever pay to see her) BUT her concert was one of the best I’ve been to. I have a whole new respect for her & what she does. I didn’t sit down, not once. I would cop this DVD to jam to while cleaning my crib…and I would definitely PAY to see her in concert again.

BUT judging from her candids the last few weeks…homegirl needs some REST. As I said in another post..she needs to pop some Benadryl pills…drink a gallon of Nyquil & sleep non stop for a good 2 weeks.

I am tired of Beyonce too, but I will always be a huge Beyonce fan. After seeing this girl in concert you can’t help but to be a fan. She is actually talented and I don’t know why people are comparing her to Janet Jackson when they are two completely different artists. The only person than I can think of to compare to Janet Jackson is Ciara (her style, her singing, and the dancing). Beyonce is not a hardcore dancer like Janet or Ciara anyway so I don’t see how people could even compare the three.

I respect that she works hard, but that is all. I never said I hated the girl. I just don’t worship her like some of you and I’m just not into that type of music. I will give credit where it is due.

That is your opinion. I do think she is a very good singer, but her dancing leaves a lot to be desired. As I said before, she just doesn’t look natural. She did improve since she hooked-up with Shakira (sp) though. She has loosened up a little.
