Trey Songz says he is contemplating legal action against the Springfield, Massachusetts, police department after he and two members of his entourage were arrested early Sunday morning following a performance at Springfield’s Hippodrome.
Trey spoke exclusively to MTV News and told them what really went down. Read on:
“My homie goes to get one of the police officers to escort us out of there and [someone in the parking lot] started bussin’ [firing a gun],” Songz recalled. “So we started ducking in the car. So my homie runs back to the car and gets in like, ‘They bussin’!’ By the time we look up, we see the police [had] apprehended somebody, so we said, ‘We ain’t finnin’ to wait.’ We got out the car and proceeded to walk, ’cause the hotel is only a block away. The police stopped us and were like, ‘Hold up, hold up.’
Songz said that one officer tried to take down his tall, 300-pound bodyguard but did not succeed, so more officers got involved and took him down.
“It was seven on him, beating his a–,” Songz said bitterly. “He caught it in the back of the head with a nightstick. His face was swollen. His arm was out of place.”
Trey’s MugshotSongz said he too got roughed up after yelling at one of the officers. He said he was angry because he saw a group of white officers laughing about what had just happened, and verbalized his disdain.
“The officers were joking about hitting [us],” Trey fumed. “I was like, ‘Man, y’all stomped my n—a’s face in.’ That’s when they tackled me. It was like four officers on me. One officer had his knee in my throat. They was kicking me in the ribs. Talking to people in that community, they say that thing happens all the time. [ READ MORE ]
T.I. DROPS THANKSGIVING REQUEST
Looks like T.I. won’t get to party with his family and friends this Thanksgiving. The rapper submitted a request to allow others into his home to celebrate the holidays while on house arrest but has since canceled it. Strong opposition from the prosecution played a big role in T.I.’s decision, they’ve taken the stance that the rapper is receiving special treatment. Although each visitor in his home is required to be approved by the courts, his list of 95 people has made it difficult.
T.I. is potentially looking over 30 years in prison if he is convicted of the federal weapons charges he faces.

Why didnt the bodyguard comply with the police? I know there are some shady police out there, but this situation could have been lessened if they just told the police what they wanted to know. I mean seriously why would try to leave when the police are telling you to stay unless you are looking for trouble? Yes the police are human and therefore extremely flawed, but we have got to use better judgement and learn to play the game. I for one think that young black men and women (or anyone) should be taught the proper behavior when confronted by the police. Too many kids are getting hurt for no reason.
I was going to the concert that Trey’s incident happened. I live in New England and racial profiling and other racial issues often do occur here. I’m glad I was not at the concert becuase I might have got arrested too in helping out Trey.

I live in Springfield and yes racial profiling does occur and some of the cops are really jerks but i find Trey’s story hard to believe. If your bodyguard got beat down like that why did i see him smile on my local news when some took his pic and he was cuffed in custody? He looked perfectly fine to me with his hoody and jacket on standing there. He didn’t look traumatized. I also work in an field where i hear alot about incidents involving the police and them being sued and i have to say i can’t wait to see Trey suit IF he sues. If Trey would’ve been tackled to the ground and beat down im sure some of the people at the concert would’ve made a huge fuss and so far i haven’t heard anything about that. The fact is a man was shooting in a crowd and someone got hurt if the cops try to tell you to hold up then you hold up. I heard somewhere else that Trey used the old “don’t you know who I am” line with the cops. Cops can be assholes yes but you need to have enough common sense not to try and act bad after something serious like that happened.
