Various news sources have confirmed that Dr. Donda West mother and manager of rapper and producer Kanye West, passed away unexpectedly Saturday night in Los Angeles. She was 58 years old. Her family has asked for privacy at this time.
We here at Concrete Loop would like to extend our prayers and condolences to Kanye and his family at this difficult time.

Very sad. May GOD be with Kanye and the rest of her loved ones. Losing a loved one is always hard, but when it’s UNEXPECTED, its even worse. I pray for they’re strenght during this difficult time.

I am shocked, stunned, and saddened by this…It’s just amazing how fleeting life can be that when a person pass, it’s so hard to believe cause they seemed to have been so full of life.
Every picture I’ve seen of Ye’s mother has been where she’s always smiling. I think that tells alot about her personality.
It appeared Ye and his mom were very close…My prayers go out to the West family, and i sincrely hope Ye takes the time to grieve properly, even though i know he has tons of things scheduled associated with the new cd, i hope his vendors and contractees are understanding of this horrible tragedy and not press him about formerly committed obligations.

Man, when I first heard about it on MSNBC earlier today, I caught the end of the segment. They were saying Dr. West WAS head of the English Dept. I said to myself why were they saying WAS, what happened!!! Then I read it on the internet that she had passed away. All I can say is WOW what a shocker. My sincere prayers go out to Kanye and his family. She is in a much better place now.

I know exactly what he’s going through, as I lost my mother last year and it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to endure. I respect Kanye so much and am a huge fan of his music. When I heard this news my heart felt like i dropped.This is so sad.Espically since Kanye has been ruling the musc scene and was on top of the world.I can’t even imagine what he’s going though and its so sad esoically since the holidays are right around the corner.I wish the best for him, and my heart goes out to him and his loved ones at the terrible time.

This is a terrible tragedy for Kanye – there is little that can prepare you for the death of your mother, but when it’s so sudden and unexpected, it rocks you to your soul.

Wow, i cant believe it. I just read an article about them in jet (but it was an old article, May 2007) and I was really impressed by her strength and intelligence. Its such a shame. My thoughts and prayers go out to the West family.

Seems like death makes so may appearances during the holidays. Every year around this time, a lot of people pass away. Only God can give the comfort that we need.
That’s really sad. I’ve lost both my parents and there’s nothing explainable of the feeling to loose a parent especially a mother.
