Various news sources have confirmed that Dr. Donda West mother and manager of rapper and producer Kanye West, passed away unexpectedly Saturday night in Los Angeles. She was 58 years old. Her family has asked for privacy at this time.
We here at Concrete Loop would like to extend our prayers and condolences to Kanye and his family at this difficult time.

Wow this is just totally crazy. I don’t know about yall but it just feel God is trying to tell us something. Death has been all around me. My auntie just died saturday, my boyfriend aunt died friday my uncle’s wife sister died they just had her funeral friday earlier this year two young kids that grew up in my neighborhood died 24 year old girl had an asthma attack, 21 year old drop dead at work, my next door neighbor died a month ago from breast cancer the same way my aunt just died now this is the madness ever gonna end?

Sorry about you losing your Aunt and the other losses you’ve experienced. Life is totally unpredictable. People are here today and gone today. It’s so important to keep God in your life and show love to the people you love.

This story absolutely ate me up. I’ve always appreciated Kanye and his love for her mother and her love and pride for her son. She was just here in my city a Virginia Union doing a speech and to hear that she is now gone, it just makes me feel so sad.

I was really hurt when I found this out, I wish the world for Kanye and his family. As a TRUE FAN OF KANYE, I am stunned that this happen and I know this is going to be the turning point of Kanye’s life and career…I just hope he’ll be able to dwell and overcome like Nas…RIP Dr. Donda West…”Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, turn one page and there’s Kanye’s mommy”….she is truly missed!
Thank You 381 …………… I’ve been checking the news but I haven’t heard much but that the family wanted it’s privacy and that Kanye was in London on music business when it happened and all I could say was damn.
You know, I hate to say this, but vanity is what most likely killed Dr. West (RIP), it had been a known medical fact that Dr. West had heart problems, thus,this is why it makes since why most of the 90210 doctors would not perform the surgery on her, thus, she went to a back street shady azz doctor who decided that we would most likely do it for the dough, and not for the ethics that he should had advised her on other options and or decided not to risk it himself. I SHMDH…This did not need to happen. All the smarts and being a professor, did not heed the ignorance that preceded her unwarranted death, she should had researched this more, before risking her life. This is the same cat who has a show on the Discovery Health Channel, and showed Lisa Raye’s/the Brat’s mother getting the same and or similar procedure last year on the channel. SHDH.
My deepest condolences to you Kanye..but what is even sadder on top of this.. is what caused the death..may you find peace in knowing she is in a better place..

OMG TO ME SHE WAS LYK ONE OF THE SWEETEST HIPHOP MOTHERS EVER. EVERY KANYE SHOW SHE WAS THERE TO SUPPORT HIM. WOW I WONDER HOW KANYE MUST BE TAKING THIS, I KNOW ITS PROBABLY HARD FOR HOMEBOY CUZ THAT WAS UNEXPECTED AND IT DEFINITELY DID SOME DAMAGE TO ME AND IM A STRANGER I DIDNT KNOW HER LYK THAT SO I KNO HE MUST BE TAKING IT REALLY HARD. This really hurts *me* and I didn’t even know the lady…I just knew how close she was to Kanye. I’m really sorry to hear this and I truly hope that the family will be able to get through this time. This is very, very sad.
I just heard the service will be here in OKC. The culd not have picked a better funeral home. The one they picked did my brother’s service and I knoe the lady persona;;y that runs it and she’s very professional and I know it will be a very nice service.

Oh my heart goes out to Kanye West and his family. I know how it feels to lose a parent, or someone who is so close to you you can’t see yourself living without them. Its a pain that seriously hurts, its a pain words can’t heal, but only God, and time can heal.
