I would just like to send up my prayers to Kanye and his family. While I can not imagine what he must be feeling right now, I would like to offer this advice–God does not and will not put more on us than we can bear. Just stay prayed up Mr. West. God loves you.

I am shocked, stunned, and saddened by this…It’s just amazing how fleeting life can be that when a person pass, it’s so hard to believe cause they seemed to have been so full of life.

Every picture I’ve seen of Ye’s mother has been where she’s always smiling. I think that tells alot about her personality.

Man, when I first heard about it on MSNBC earlier today, I caught the end of the segment. They were saying Dr. West WAS head of the English Dept. I said to myself why were they saying WAS, what happened!!! Then I read it on the internet that she had passed away. All I can say is WOW what a shocker. When I heard this news my heart felt like i dropped.This is so sad.Espically since Kanye has been ruling the musc scene and was on top of the world.I can’t even imagine what he’s going though and its so sad esoically since the holidays are right around the corner.I wish the best for him, and my heart goes out to him and his loved ones at the terrible time.

Seems like death makes so may appearances during the holidays. Every year around this time, a lot of people pass away. Only God can give the comfort that we need.

This very sad…but i do send my love and Prayers to Kanye and his family. I dont know how it feels to lose a parent so i wont say i know how he feels, but i do know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Kanye West’s mother has died at the age of 58 after complications resulting from surgery.

Dr Donda West died in Los Angeles as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure, according to the BBC, which cited her publicist, Patricia Green.

The 30-year-old hip hop star’s spokesman said: “The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief.”

West is believed to have been in London filming a video for his new song Homecoming when his mother died.

He has made no secret of his admiration for his mother, often bringing her to parties and awards shows and made reference to her on all of his albums.

On his 2005 Late Registration album he raps: “Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I’m so proud of you / Let me tell you what I’m about to do, Hey Mama / I know I act a fool, but, I promise you I’m goin’ back to school / I appreciate what you allowed for me / I just want you to be proud of me Hey Mama.”

Although widely known as the mother of Kanye, Dr West had a 31-year career as an English professor, eventually chairing Chicago State University’s English department before leaving academia in 2004 to help manage her son’s career.

In May she published the book Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star.

I offer My deepest condolences to Kanye and his family. I too lost my grandmother on saturday. It hurts alot to loose someone you love. I can only imagine how you feel kenye and the rest of the family. The way I see my mother right now, I just can’t imagine how I would feel if I lost my mother. It is very sad, she was taken so prematurely over such a silly thing. She didnt need it for a deformity, she wanted it for vanity, and now she is gone. Then I saw the headline and listened to Rhymefest’s comment on the radio. DAMN. We just couldn’t believe it. I talked to Dr. West when you two were in Chicago on Aug. 24th promoting the KWF’s Loop Dreams program. I’ll never forget when I interviewed her, how inspiring her words were, and I thanked her for helping make you the man you are. My prayers go out to Kanye. I lost my mother unexpectedly when I was just 24. I am continuing to heal. It is by far a long process and even more difficult when your mother is young and seemingly healthy as mine, at only 54 years old. His relationship seemed to be very good with her as she was his life, his heart, and his motivation. His relationship seems to be just like mine was with my mother. He may lash out in anger, he may withdrawl from things, but at some point he will realize God called her home, because it was her time. Not only is she in a better place but she is happy and will be watching out for him in heaven, just like she did on Earth. He will see that God makes no mistakes and eventually he will be grateful for the beautiful years he was able to learn from her, talk to her, and hug her. God bless you Kanye, it is a long road. No one can understand the pain we feel when we lose our mother unless they have lost their mother. Surround yourself with people you love and that love you, people close to your mother, because it helps you to feel closer to her. My heart aches for you brother cause I have been there only three years ago almost four and I know exactly what your going through. Don’t try to be strong express your feelings let it all out it helps.

Watching MSNBC around 10:50am when I woke up I saw this and I was partly awoke and I think I heard them say they think the surgery she was having was a breast reduction….I said damn. I didn’t like Kanye but damn I’d never wish the pain he’s feeling right now on him…..never. Life can be so harsh at times… It is often said that time heals most wounds… Death is not one of them… A Mother & Father are the MOST prized possessions in life… I can not bare to even think of my mother being taken away form me… But I have always been in tune with death… so I have asked God to give me understanding and patience when the time comes… It was such a shock when I found out that Ms.West’s time had come… I am not sure if Kanye will ever read this but it may not be meant for him but for some one else… God is a merciful God and he will NEVER put more on you than you can handle… As Tupac said (and I believe him because he knew pain and strife…) If you can make it throught the night… There will be a brighter day…

Kanye, I know what you are going through. I lost my mother almost a year ago and she was only 56 years old. She died suddenly in her sleep. It was a shock. All I can say is this…your mother was very strong and she loved you so much continue to carry her life through you. You are gonna go through every single emotion to the fullest. There will be times you are gonna cry so hard you won’t be able to see then there are times you will laugh…everything is going to remind you of her even your actions so cherish them. You are a rapper so that means you write….create a journal of every memory you have even the very moment you found out she was gone believe it or not it helps. I am still going through the pain…Thanksgiving was the last holiday we spent with our mom she died early December but we didn’t find her till the day after my brother’s birthday December 12th.

I can’t tell you it’s gonna get better but rely upon God’s strength, your strength and the love that you shared with her and you will survive. I am so sorry and even though I don’t know you, I do know your pain…just hold on.

Wow this is just totally crazy. I don’t know about yall but it just feel God is trying to tell us something. Death has been all around me. My auntie just died saturday, my boyfriend aunt died friday my uncle’s wife sister died they just had her funeral friday earlier this year two young kids that grew up in my neighborhood died 24 year old girl had an asthma attack, 21 year old drop dead at work, my next door neighbor died a month ago from breast cancer the same way my aunt just died now this is the madness ever gonna end?

You know, I hate to say this, but vanity is what most likely killed Dr. West (RIP), it had been a known medical fact that Dr. West had heart problems, thus,this is why it makes since why most of the 90210 doctors would not perform the surgery on her, thus, she went to a back street shady azz doctor who decided that we would most likely do it for the dough, and not for the ethics that he should had advised her on other options and or decided not to risk it himself. I SHMDH…This did not need to happen. All the smarts and being a professor, did not heed the ignorance that preceded her unwarranted death, she should had researched this more, before risking her life. This is the same cat who has a show on the Discovery Health Channel, and showed Lisa Raye’s/the Brat’s mother getting the same and or similar procedure last year on the channel. SHDH.
