Usher feat. Pharrell – Only One (snippet) – listen
This song could have been good, but then when I heard the chorus I just cringed. I mean, maybe it’s because it’s not mastered or mixed. It’s like, I don’t know, the song had the potential to be really good, but it just doesn’t sound finished. From past experiences, The Neptunes and Usher usually collaborate well together (“U Don’t Have to Call,” “Sweet Lies,” and “I Don’t Know”) but there have been some mishaps, for instance, the unreleased tracks, “I Heard A Rumor” and “Wifey,” which both had holes in them to me. I see the direction this one’s going in, I hope they can get it there.
Cheri Dennis – Dropping Out of Love (full) – listen
As some of you may or may not know, Cheri Dennis released her debut album, In & Out of Love via iTunes earlier this month. It’s been said that the album will be released in stores next year, February 26th. In any event, I’m glad that Bad Boy finally let her put out some product. I’ve listened to the album a few times, and I think that it’s a pretty consistent effort. It’s very much so 90′s – it sounds like old classic Faith on Bad Boy to me. “Dropping Out of Love” is one of my favorite cuts from the album.
Drake – Brand New (full) – listen
Did you know that Drake could sing too? CL has been following Drake for the past couple of years now, but I bet this is like you’ve never heard him before! He actually has a little voice on him, but then again, it doesn’t surprise me that the actor-to-rapper can accomplish getting on an R&B track and doing a good job. Drake is still working on his debut album, which I hope will be out sometime early next year.
Nicole Scherzinger feat. Timbaland – Physical (snippet) – listen
Although Nicole’s album has been pushed back to ’08, her team is still trying to figure out what they should as far as her next single. They’ve added snippets on her official site to choose Nicole’s new single. I remember back when the Pussycat Dolls were putting out their first album, “Physical” was supposedly a track that was recorded, but here it is, supposedly on Nicole’s Her Name Is Nicole debut. The track is produced by Timbaland. I always thought that it was going to appear on the second PCD album.
I love Nicole she’s able to do so much with her voice.
All except of them sucked except Drake and Cheri! Doesn’t Cheri look like Dawn from Danity Kane in that picture?!?
Don’t too much like the Nicole song, she’s needs to stick to things like ‘Stickwitchu’, ‘Lie about us’ stuff like that.

Usher’s Only One has definitely not been mixed down and mastered….but this is great for people who don’t much about the recording process—it shows how vocals REALLLY sound in the studio….hahahahahah. The reason why songs sound so good on the radio is because of engineers..not the actual talent…lol.
I like the lyrics to Usher’s song… and the beat is nice. But Pharrell’s falsetto is really outdated, antiquated, and getting on my damn nerves…Does P use his own falsetto b/c he does not want to actually hire a REAL FEMALE singer? I know he has the money to use a REAL FEMALE vocalist. Being cheap is not working for this song.

I’m loving Drake’s song. He sings a little bit on his new mixtape on a track called “BI#ch is Crazy”…a song females will probably love to hate (I know I do) but you can’t ignore the fact that the song is HOT (and very funny). The boy is talented. Love Love Love.
And because I’m nostalgic for 90′s R&B, I like Ms. Dennis’ song overall…but the song could’ve been just as fine, and even better, with another beat.
