I like the new video and I couldn’t take my eyes away when they first showed it yesterday on trl and then on bet…jessica alba look like crap stand next to alicia keys. I have her album and “Looks good to me” is one of my favorites already. She’s the hottest female artist out there period…She classy doesn’t have to run around with those sleazy ass rappers to create press (Common is a classy rapper) I don’t know what else to say she’s my favorite for a reason…She loves herself and looks better than most women (Adriana Lima is the only female who has got her in the looks department and they look alike) and she doesn’t have to slut herself out and I’m sure all the hoodrats hate on her and guys who don’t stand a chance… but my word.

@Lina I agree the songs you listed they stood out to me as well but “superwoman” make me think too much I have to listen again…I love John Mayer also “lesson learned” lyrics really stood out before the rest of the song came together for me but I don’t know why “Looks good to me” just does something for me it has another song from the old school in it also but I love it.

Yes, this is a great heart-wrenching video. Man, I can’t even watch it again because it’s so sad. Nonetheless, she did her thing, and she was so right to put Common in the video.

As for her album, I have to admit that, initially, when I heard “No One”, I wasn’t expecting anything good from this album. I mean, while a good amount of people love the song, I really don’t think that it sounds good, and it’s too simple for my taste. However, there are so many other songs on this album that are absolutely beautiful.

To me, the best tracks are:

* Wreckless Love (should definitely be the next single)

*Tell You Something (if Like You’ll Never See Me Again made you cry, this song will definitely make you bawl. It is really gorgeous and touching)

* I Need You (also needs to be a single)

*Teenage Love Affair (the cutest song I’ve heard in a while. I really like it.)

* Sure Looks Good To Me (when I heard the beginning of it, I didn’t like it because I didn’t like the vocals, but after really listening to the whole thing, I really, really love this song. It is so empowering, and the breakdown in the middle of the song is very good. Powerful, intense, poignant lyrics)

* Like You’ll Never See Me Again (I instantly fell in love with this song. It’s sexy, sensual, sincere and touching)

* Where Do We Go From Here (Again, in the beginning, the vocals, I didn’t care for, but the song itself is really good and catchy. I love the production of this song, the most.)

* Superwoman (while this one isn’t my absolute favorite, I think that it’s one of those great pick-me-up type of songs. It’s also empowering and the beat is really nice.)

So, those are my picks. I think that this album is very good. It far exceeded my expectations. And while a few of you say that AK is boring and that you are not moved by this album, I think that you would just have to be in a certain place in your life for these songs to touch you.

If you are kind of closed off, then, no, these songs will not do anything for you. But, if you have experienced loved gained or love lost, or if you have come to the realization that it’s time for you to get your own self together, or if you have already gotten yourself on track, then “As I Am” is the album for you.

You will simply love it.

This video is just great! It had me on the edge of my seat like what is gonna happen then Commons fine ass took a breath so sweat when she kisses his hand in the end like he is precious to her. Alicia looking fly and natural she set her CD up for success. Then I got the CD at Target and I’m telling you if you don’t have it you are truly missing out 1-14 goes hard! My favorites right now (it has changed a lot over the past day) Tell You Something (nanas reprise) just beautiful Sure Looks Good To Me ( I’m about to “risk it all freedom to fall” I was contemplating going for a promotion at work and it sure looks good to me to at least try at this point. Lesson Learned will be performed at the grammys in 09 she and John Mayer did a great collaboration! Teenage Love Affair made me want to call my old sweetheart just to say hi! I could go on and on.

I like A. Keys…however it’s something about her music that’s slightly boring. It’s like the songs on her album are cool but they all start to sound alike after awhile. ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’ would stand out more if ‘I Need You’ , ‘Thing About Love’ and ‘Wreckless Love’ wasn’t on there.

I am a bigger fan of uptempo A. Keys music so in that way I am bias. However, ‘Sure Looks Good To Me’ and ‘Prelude To A Kiss’ are my favorite songs on the album : )
