A return of REAL R&B. None of this wack ass Chris Brown/Omarion shit.

Tianna needs to be doing the music cause she knows whats really good.

  3. xcal

  4. I can’t see the video or hear the song right now, but knowing Anthony Hamilton, it’s fire. I’ll peep it later.

I feel you #2. Besides that, the review is precise and gives you everything you need to know.

The Return of Real R&B???? I’m sorry but where did R&B go???? it’s just that good artists like Anthony Hamilton you choose not to support him, due to the brain washing of the industry. You guys kill me with the Return of something!!!!! Excuse me but I did not get the memo on the Funeral for it. R&B will be here and it’s here to stay, get out of the Matrix and you’ll understand.

  8. Yasmine

#7 People kill me when they claim they know what somebody buys or who someone supports. The Official Soundtrack is really good.

  9. brooklyntookit

@#7, Look at the charts. Chris Brown Feat. T-Pain’s “Kiss Kiss” is number 1 and that has to be one of the worst R&B songs I’ve ever heard.

Akon has had like 4 top 10 singles and is considered an R&B artists when his material and voice are bad.

Anthony Hamilton is the truth and if you don’t think so then you one of the reasons why R&B is so fucking lame right now.

  10. brooklyntookit

And I have every one of Anthony Hamilton’s albums so I don’t know what you mean when you say I don’t support him.

  11. BigDaddyReg

    Great music as always

  12. Tamara

Shamefully, I am one of the many Americans who took advantage of the stolen studio copy that hit the streets. It was a great experience.

  13. Anthony Hamilton is in the movie as a singer

  14. B

Since I’ve seen the movie I’ve had this song on repeat. It’s so damn good.

  15. Nikki

#12 I guess you are contributing to the Hollywood Strike that is going on after 08 There will be no more movies unless they make a deal. The writers are walking out on Monday.

  16. FancyFace

I have to agree with #2 and 7. Sometimes you just want to hear a grown ass person sing a grown ass song.

TODAY IS BLACK OUT FRIDAY. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING TODAY
National Black Out Day, Friday, November 2, 2007

Many people marched in Jena, La last month in support of the 6
    > young men unjustly charged with attempted murder for a school
    > yard fight. There are many situations all over the nation that
    > scream of injustice and unfair treatment of people in this
    > country. There is the woman in West Virginia who was raped and
    > tortured for days with barely any national coverage. They
    > called her the N word but as of this writing, they still had
    > not confirmed they are treating this as a hate crime. We all
    > know the young groom in NYC who was murdered by the NYPD on the
    > eve of his wedding. There is the teenage girl in Texas who was
    > sentenced to jail time for an altercation with a school
    > official. How about the teenage girl who was sprayed with mace
    > for missing curfew. You can see her in the video restrained by
    > a police officer twice her size. She was in handcuffs when she
    > was sprayed. Maybe you heard of the California girl who had her
    > arm broken by a school security official when she refused to
    > pick up a piece of cake from the floor. It was filmed by a
    > school mate and is all over You Tube. You may have heard of the
    > young man in Georgia who was sentenced to 10 years in prison
    > for having consensual sex with a young girl. He was 17, she was
    > 15. There was also the young brother in Florida who died in the
    > custody of the state when he was admitted to their boot camp.
    > They said he had diabetes but they couldn’t explain his
    > battered body. All of these stories happened within the last
    > year or two.
    >
    > Those are just a few instances where people in this country
    > have been treated unfairly, while 4 young men in Raleigh, NC
    > sue the state for 10 million dollars each because they were
    > “falsely” accused of rape. There are people who spend YEARS in
    > prison and are exonerated that don’t get nearly that much coin.
    > By the way, who else is tired of the Princess Diana wrongful
    > death inquiry? I mean, come on, it’s very sad how she died but
    > does her death need to be the top news story 10 years and 2
    > months after her death?
    >
    > On Friday, November 2, 2007, Warren Ballentine, Reverend Al
    > Sharpton and other civil rights leaders are calling for a
    > national boycott. Black people alone spend 2 billion dollars a
    > da y in the United States and we are only approximately 12% of
    > the population. 2 billion dollars a day, lining the pockets of
    > companies that have shown no interest in our interests. We ARE
    > living in the new civil rights movement. We cannot allow the
    > march in Jena to be only an event. It MUST be a movement. In
    > the 1950s, the bus boycott was only supposed to be for a few
    > days or weeks. It ended up being over a year. The goal was for
    > fair treatment and bus integration. Our parents and
    > grandparents sacrificed and showed that with faith and
    > strength, they could show corporate America the power of the
    > community and demanded fair treatment. As we know, those buses
    > were integrated. This is not about color. This is about class.
    > The middle class and poor people in this country are not
    > treated as the Declaration of Independence says we should be
    > treated. It states that “all men are created equal”. Clearly
    > the governing class of the United States disagrees with their
    > document.
    >
    > Join us on on Friday, November 2, 2007 and don’t spend ANY
    > money. If you have to shop, do it the day before or the day
    > after. If you need gas, get it the day before or the day after.
    > We have to join together as a community. You may be thinking,
    > it’s only one day, what difference will it make? I had the same
    > thought at first, but just think about it. If we all save our
    > money that day, it WILL make a difference. That day may become
    > a weekend. That weekend may become a week and that week a
    > month. As we showed in the 1950s, we can make a difference if
    > we do this together.
    >
    > If you can pass the many dumb jokes and forwards we all get,
    > you most certainly can pass this important email to all your
    > friends and family.
    >
    > Show a sign of solidarity.

  24. I saw American Gangster a couple of days ago and although the movie is “alright” it leaves you wanting more from each character. The only appeal to the movie is the line up, Cuba Gooding Jr, Russel Crowe, T.I. (which shouldn’t have been in the movie in the first place) Common, (another flake) and let’s not forget Denzel Washington. Out every movie Denzel stars or co-stars in he makes each and every character he portrays remarkable. As I watched him play Frank Lucas, a known drug lord and organized crime boss in Harlem, although he played Frank the best to his abilities, his character seemed dry after every scene. Even though there are some good scenes when he murderd another drug lord in the streets of Harlem. Or when he was talking to Armand Assasnte who played crime boss Dominic Cattano. All in all, if I got a chance to rate this movie out of a 10 I’d give it a 5 1/2.

  25. Denzel is so damn fine!!! :o )
(Darn pop up ads are reckon my flow)

  26. Tha X

Not surpised all of his songs are excellent

  27. Melinda

No matter what the people say I gonna love Anthony Hamilton anyway.
    This man can sing

  28. MAI03

    I love this song!

Hey, why did Denzel’s character burn up her fur coat? Anyone whos seen it already know why? Just curious.

  29. I wasn’t an Anthony Hamilton fan until I saw him live singing my song…Can’t Let Go…and he took my hand an we did a lil step..he got into my collection! This is a good song..the movie was ok…all that damn money and Frank ended up with…..

  30. #31…because it drew attention to him…he was all about being low key…

  31. Dreamm

This has to Be the Hottest track. Anthony Hamilton toatlly set the tone for everything to follow from the “A.G.” soundtrack. SANG Boy, SANG!!

  32. bailey

I LOVE ANTHONY HAMILTON-EVERYTHING HE PUTS OUT IS SO ECLECTIC, BUT IT ALSO HAS SUCH A STRONG PHUNK AND R&B INFLUENCE

THIS MAN’S MUSIC ALWAYS DELIVERS, I’M NEVER DISAPPOINTED AS A FAN.

  33. charlee

gota luv anthony hamilton…… from the vid i believe “american gansta” is goin to b a chick flick

  34. sxcighanamamii

    great song, movie looks GREAT.
    cant wait to see it.

  35. Kuntry-N-Klassy

OMG I love Anthony Hamilton. He is such a soulful artist who needs much more exposure. Great song btw!!!

  36. American Gangster is no where near a “chick flick”

  37. @ 27 .. You don’t have a chance to rate the movie. And thanks for your rating. unfortunately for you nobody cares. Anyway I love this song! ( i’m just jokin with you!)

  38. Xcerie Marti

I have always been a fan of Anthony Hamilton, since he came out with “Coming from where I’m from”; He has a soulful voice and he doesn’t get the recognition like alot of other artist with neo soul backgrounds like Jill Scott, India Arie and countless others. He gives a good performance when he is in concert. I love him.

  39. Richard O'Reilly

Lovely song. I like the old school soul flavour to it. I do agree with you both #2 and #7; in my opinion, some R&B songs today sound a little “cheap” to me; like “bubble gum” music but artists like Anthony Hamilton don’t get enough props. I don’t know if he’s on a big lable or not; assuming that he isn’t, a big record company would only look at sales and take out the soul/passion out artists like Mr Hamilton I think because they only want sales and nothing more and that’s the problem in this every increasing corporate world so even if he is on a big record company, his kind of R&B wouldn’t be first priority for the powers that be, it’s “not mainstream enough”; at least how it appears to me. There are many like Anthony but you “have to look” for them.

Again, it’s a great song; really soulful. Long live R&B.

  40. Kiki

Thanks for posting ,I love this song!!!! So soulful def. 70′s vibe..hope it’s on the soundtrack.

  41. Chocolate Star

I looooove Anthony Hamilton! This is a great song.

  42. I fell in love with the song when I was watching the movie and was like damn what is the name of that song…..I NEED the mp3……omg I love this song….love the video even though most of the video was parts of the movie.

  43. Harlemblkchix

  44. Moniker

I’ve been playing it for a minute.

  45. leosag96

Great track. So soulful. Love Anthony Hamilton.

  46. van

aint nobody thinking about jay! anthony ham do you thing!

  47. teacher

Been supporting Anthony since he sung hooks for nappy roots – brutha has a voice that just cuts me to my soul and there aren’t many singers who have that capability regardless of how they are classified. As for R&B being dead, have to agree with the other posters, you may have to look a lil harder but it definitely ain’t dead. Much props to Anthony – me an sista big bones in your corner all the way – corn bread, collard greens and all.

  48. Softest Place On Earth

This is my favorite song right now. I can’t get it out my head since the first time I heard it. I love Anthony Hamilton.

American Ganster was a damn good movie, imo.

  49. John

great song,Anthony. Now this is that soulful R&B my parents grew up on.

  50. hellokittylover

the film looks good, might watch it if its out in UK

  51. Cashmoneychick

Great song…luv the old school feel!!

  52. MS. KATRINA

    @ 53 – I’m with you!

Love the song! Love Anthony Hamilton, but I can hardly understand what he’s saying other than “Do you feel me? Oh baby” lol…

American Gangster was a great movie. I think some characters threw people off, that’s why they say stupid shit like “T.I. shouldn’t have been in the movie”….Give me a break or “Common was a flake”…..Get the eff outta here, they played their characters how they were suppose to play them….Everybody wasn’t casted as “bang, bang shoot em” alright!!!!

  53. Rae

#53 and #55, its just the download of the video. Check the song out on Limewire, its comes across much better! I was disappointed listening to it on here! This is a hot song! I already luv Anthony Hamilton, and Im definitely feelin this song! I had to watch the movie twice too appreciate it! I think the first time I was too distracted (talking, drinking, etc.). This is in the top 5 of gangsta flicks, and Denzel at his best! Damn he is fine! Common too (Stop hatin on him)! Good flick with a lot of good actors! I hope it makes its numbers ALTHOUGH EVERYONE HAS THE BOOTLEG!

  54. Thalie

This song puts me in one of those thoughtful moods. His voice is priceless!
