JAY-Z & BEYONCE – 2007′S IT COUPLE
No one can deny it, Jay-Z & Beyonce were the definite IT couple of 2007. From their many vacations across the pond, to their late night dinner dates – these two were the most talked about couple in hip-hop this year.
I wonder if they’re going to keep their title next year or will someone else take the throne? Who knows? But with all those wedding rumors going around, it looks like we’ll see them at the top again in ’08.
USHER & TAMEKA – MOST HATED ON LOVE
Drama, drama, and more drama can only describe the love affair that is Usher Raymond & Tameka Foster. They were heavily talked about this year on CL and many other popular blogs. People hated on them so much that it prompted Usher to release an official statement about the whole situation. Not to mention, the rumors about his mama not approving of Tameka. Who could resist that juicy info?!
With their marriage back in August and the birth of their first child last month, these two were all smiles. Let’s just say if they are in love and happy let’s just let them be.
DIDDY & KIM – MR. & MRS. PUBLICITY STUNTERS
Even though they supposedly broke it earlier this year, I still say Diddy & Kim Porter make the top couples list this year. Their on and off again relationship was heavily talked about in the mag and blog circuits and don’t even get me started on Diddy’s other child with Sarah Chapman (that’s a whole ‘nother topic).
We all know Kim covered Essence Magazine back in September, and talked all that jazz about her not taking Diddy’s mess anymore, but when we see her popping up at random parties with Diddy by her side, it makes me think this whole thing was a publicity stunt of some kind. Cute twins though!
T.I. & TINY – RIDE OR DIE LUV
Forget Beyonce and Jay-Z, T.I. & Tiny are hip-hop’s real Bonnie & Clyde! What other couple do you know was taken down by the ATF and FBI and are still going strong? All jokes aside, these two went through a lot this year with the lost of their daughter but kept moving forward.
Tiny made many appearances with her man in ’07, from his album parties to his movie releases – she stood by his side. Now with T.I.’s upcoming court date on weapons charges (among other things) we can just say that she is a true ‘ride or die’ chick.
KANYE & ALEXIS – THE STYLISH DUO
Another couple that made waves this year was Kanye West & Alexis Phifer. From his record breaking album, Graduation, to Alexis’ first showing at Fashion week – they supported each other to the fullest.
Can you think of any other couple that was spotted at more fashion events than these two in ’07? I know I can’t! We all can’t wait to see what ‘07′s fly’est couple‘ will be up to in ’08. Wedding, perhaps?
MEL B & STEPHEN – THE P.D.A PROS
No other couple this year showed as much P.D.A. (public displays of affection) than Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte. Hate it or love it, these two were spotted everydamnwhere getting their kiss on in front of the cameras. Even though Mel B had a lot of drama with Eddie Murphy in ’07, she seems happy and in love with her new man. Now get a damn room!!

Bigga! Love ‘em they know how to do it worldwide….but Ashanti and Nelly always look like they’re having a great time. Will and Jada keeping it strong for the long-term as friends lovers, parents, and they keep the family tight, extended and otherwise. I love them for that…..love, love, love its a beautiful thing….

Love Jay and Bee. Tehy definitely are the hottest couple today. And I love Melanie B with her new husband. She looks really happy with him. And he looks really happy with her as well. You can tell by the way he looks at her that he really loves her. I hope this marriage lasts becuz she’s been married and divorced once already, and she doesn’t have the best track record with previous relationships. They look cute together, I love the public displays of affection. I’m rooting for them.
I’m with you #121……..We just have to accept the fact some people dont know how to read or comprehend what they read. Angel explained what the list was based on, but some still dont get it. Its based on who was covered the most and talked about the most by bloggers on CL in the year 2007!!!!!! Could it be put more clearly? Real Talk Beyonce and Jay-Z aren’t just Concreteloop’s top couple, they’re MTV’s, VH1′s and millions other people or networks top couple. Beyonce is the hottest chick in the game and she is the number one black female artist. No one else is even in the same league as her. Jay-Z is the best rapper alive and they are both at the top and well respected. Concreteloop is right, it’s a given. J and B number 1 every year!

This is why there are so many dead beat black parents out there. We have to see a ideal family that doesn’t neglect their kids and say “I want that kind of life for my family”. We have to adapt to folks in the clean middle-class family neighborhoods and not come in there and ruin it for them by bringing in the ghetto with crimes and gangs. Ever wonder why when you move into a clean neighborhood, white folks moved out? We have to start blending in so ignorant folks could stop stereotyping us. We have to nurture our kids so they won’t steal, pour acid on people’s face randomly, snatch purses from others, shoot people randomly, loitering on a neighbors front porch or intimidate others with thug tactics. This has to stop if we want the white man to take us seriously. We can’t say “I grew up without a dad therefore I’ll make 20 babies and let them run lose just like I went through growing up.” We have to change for the better. I’m sick of all the discrimination but I believe we have to change to convince the white man that we are no baboons running lose in the zoo. Mos Def will look at me and say “That brotha is a trader” but let me tell you somethin Mr. Def, we fill up prisons not because we were held back but because we neglect our kids and when they grew up, they run wild on the streets sort of like a wild animal. They do not understand morals at all. This is why we filled up prisons. We have to follow the law and not depend on affirmative action as our helping hand. Let’s get real folks. Real talk.
