MARY J. BLIGE’S GROWING PAINS

Mary J. Blige – Roses

Mary J. Blige definitely did her thing on the new joint, Growing Pains, which hits stores this Tuesday, December 18th. I’m definitely going to pick up my copy. This time around, Mary worked with a plethora of producers, some that she’s done tracks with before. The album includes productions from The Neptunes, Bryan-Michael Cox (with whom Mary has excellent chemistry), The Dream & Tricky Stewart, Jazze Pha and Stargate. I think this album was a good melting pot of huge name producers, coming together to make a cohesive album for an established artist.

It’s hard to choose a favorite on Mary’s album because I actually like a lot of it. She really gave a solid effort – not that I was surprised, because The Breakthrough was a hugely successful and impressive effort from her. I’m proud of Mary.

i”m sorry, the new artist these days really are crap, the only two good artist in r&b femaie these dayz is keyshia cole and mary, i think people need to stop hatin om mary, she is the longest r&b singer out there, where is rhanna now?? all her other 3 songs after umbrella, all the songs flopped and jay-z wants to drop her, its all the same crap music of party party party, no realness of real life and how people is struggling in real life and they overcoming it, thats i respect keyshia and mary because they tell it how it is, so people who are hatin on Mary and Keyshia cole, get it together!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@106 You said: Mary’s story tell is a coming of age story for a lot of African American women. Cuz baaby, if you’re in your late 30’s, and you’r still stuck back there somewhere around “No More Drama,” you need to get it together.”

    Preach sis!

Its ironic because I didn’t like Mary’s music UNTIL I heard Breakthrough and that made me go back and buy everything. She grew up. Some sisters had mothers who are stuck in misery and aunties stuck in misery so all they expect is misery. Mary’s music does show the transformation and she makes me proud. I love this new album as well.

Sisters we really need to work it out. “Mirror” is so real. “Work That” is so real. You won’t understand Mary until you allow yourself to grow up.

And any sister who isn’t going to put “Grown Woman” on repeat in her truck, car, suv etc and blast it is missing out. That song is fire! Found my new anthem! My husband heard it and laughed “oh here you go!”
    Go Mary!

Mary J. Blige is one of my favorite artist, I love each and every CD she has ever made especially Mary, Breakthrough and now Growing pains, I think Mary has grown a lot mentally, physically and spiritually, her vocals are incredible. She looks good and her style is incredible, I am very happy and proud of Mary, I think she is awsome, and most importantly she loves God and she loves herself . I also think if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all at least that is what my mother taught me.

    You go Mary!!!!
