MOVIE NEWS: WILL SMITH TOPS THE BOX OFFICE / GOLDEN GLOBE FOR “GREAT DEBATERS”? / “MEET THE BROWNS”

Will Smith proves once again he’s the million dollar man with a record breaking debut for his new film I Am Legend. The movie landed at #1, making $76.5 million dollars and is the seventh consecutive chart-topper for Mr. Smith. The film also ranks as the best December opening of all time despite all the crazy winter weather hitting the Mid West and North East over the weekend.
Did any of you happen to see the film? How did you like it? I say the best part of the film was this scene.
The Great Debaters has not even hit theaters yet and it is already receiving award nominations. The film has been nominated for Best Motion Picture Drama from the Golden Globe academy. Another Denzel film, American Gangster, was also nominated for a Golden Globe in the same category.
Be sure to see which film takes the award when the Golden Globes airs on January 13th.
Tyler Perry is bringing in another film for his die hard fans next year with Meet The Browns. This movie will bring back Madea and also stars Angela Bassett, Rick Fox, Lance Gross, and Sofia Vergara. Read more about the film below courtesy of blackfilm.com:

Okay i saw the movie yesterday..overall i think it was good but i hated the ending…
I wanted to see what that girl on the table in the basement was gonna look like when she was completely cured..i hate that will kiled himself in the end…..but Will did carry that movie all by himself..it made me thnk like damn what if it werereally noone around but you? he wuz bored outta his mind
whch is why i cried when he had to kill his dog…
The great debaters is sure too be good…

Yeah that was my favorite part of the movie too! I swear Will’s on HGH! He was back on his Bad Boys 2 in this one. Overall the movie was ok… not bad but nothing to run to the theater for.

I really wanna go see I am legand now I’m a huge fan of will smith’s anyway so what ever the does I want to go and see it. It don’t come out over here untill boxing day and i’ll on holiday then so I wont be able to see it the first day it comes out.
Im not really a fan of scary or sad ending films but I’ll brave it to see this.
I starting to be a fan of Denzel as well I love the way the acts in his films (i still need to go see american gangster)
I hope that I am Legand is a 15 ca I really want to see it when I come back!!

The movie was AWESOME another reason why Mr. Smith is one of my favorite actors. I mean who can do a whole movie by them self basically and make it entertaining!?!?

Damn is there anything Denzel CANT do!!!!! I mean the man is an AMAZING actor and I love the way he picks his roles. I heard that Denzel is creating Oscar buzz for his character in ‘American Gangsta’. Thats cool and all but come on Hollywood, Denzel has already received an Oscar for a similar role (Training Day). Isn’t it about time that he receives this honor for a more thought-provoking, positive role ….All of you out there U know what I’m talkin about….
And i hope Will Smith gets his Oscar this year cause he certainly deserves it……I thought he should have received one for his role in ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’…

I saw I Am Legend three times this weekend… I don’t know what was going through my mind. IMO it’s wasn’t worth seeing three times but I guess when you not paying for the movie ticket I guess it doesn’t matter. LOL

I just saw I AM LEGEND last night and i walked out in awe. The movie was FANTASTIC!! It was crazy and scary as shit. I didnt even know it was s scary movie. It was just an overall beautiful movie. I almost had like 9 anxiety attacks b/c the movie keeps you on your feet throughout the ENTIRE movie but it was still fab. Will Smith is a beautiful man and is a great actor. The movie reminds me a LITTLE of a whole bunch of end of the world movies that have been made but this one is wayyy different and has a lotta twists that I didnt expect. Whoever wrote this shit has a crazy ass imagination! Will smith is great and anyone who says this movie was bad has NO INTELLIGENCE. You do have to be a critical thinker to truly understand and enjoy the movie……NO DUMMIES ALLOWED! luv u will! =)
