Michael Jackson is set to release a special edition packet of his classic album, Thriller. It is the 25th of the album, and Epic/Legacy Recordings is proudly putting out the set with remixes from Kanye West, Will.I.Am & Fergie of Black Eyed Peas, and Akon, in stores February 12th. Streaming above, is the remix to “Billie Jean” that Kanye West twerked out.
The 25th anniversary celebration kicks off in December 2007 with the release of a new single and continues throughout 2008 with a multi-faceted global marketing campaign featuring high-profile television, radio and online events around the world. It will include the original album in its entirety as well as eight bonus tracks and a DVD featuring Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking short films from Thriller (“Thriller,” “Beat It,” and “Billie Jean”) and the artist’s Emmy-nominated breakout performance of “Billie Jean” from the legendary “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” television special (first broadcast on NBC on May 16, 1983).
In February 1984, Michael Jackson held a record-breaking 12 Grammy nominations, going on to win eight, which stands as the record for most Grammy Awards to be won by anyone in a single year. Awards grabbed for Thriller that year included Album of the Year, Record of the Year (“Beat It”), Best Male Pop Vocal Performance (“Thriller”), Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical (Thriller), Best Male Rock Vocal Performance (“Beat It”), Best Male R&B Vocal Performance (“Billie Jean”) and Best R&B Song (“Billie Jean”). He also won big at the American Music and MTV Video Music Awards.
There have been talks of a Michael Jackson comeback project, rumoredly working with Will.I.Am and hitmaker Ne-Yo, but no solid information on the project’s release date. Also, his brothers have confirmed that Michael will be working with them on the Jackson 5 reunion tour. Big ups to Michael, he definitely did his thing on Thriller! Solidified classic.

I love Michael! He is truly a Great perfromer and a Legend. Although I dont agree with all the “changes” he has done, it does not take a way from How great he is.
Thriller is still one of the best albums ever! I remember watching the Motown 25 special in 1983 and I was barely 8 years old. That’s how much of a real performer MJ was. I don’t care how much they compare these young artists to MJ, none of these young dudes have that same charisma and fire MJ did.

I think this is a good way to “introduce” a real artist to the younger generation…..these kids are so lost when it comes to music…they think Soldier Boy is the ish…I use to be embarrassed to say how old I am (31 in January, God willing) but I am glad I grew up during the time I did because I got exposed to such good music…Michael Jackson, Prince, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman, Patti, Aretha etc… I mean I could go on and on but yall know what I am talking about. I thought I would never say this but I hate listening to the radio now….So what I am really trying to say is I think that this is a great idea and I will buy the album.

I love this man!! Yes, he is a complete weirdo an all, but no one can deny his talent!! When I was younger, I remember how much of an influence that he had over music, and still does. I use to buy all his posters and stickers, and my walls and doors were covered with him! I can truly understand why those white girls were fainting and crying over him! That is the kind of influence that his music had! Even now, when I hear a MJ song, I get this great feeling! He is hands down the best pop artist that has ever graced this earth!!! Regardless of all his flaws, we cant deny him of that!

Is it just me or does anyone else think Kanye’s messed up this classic! WTF! Keep your voice off of it I personally think Pharrel would have done a better job. MJ needs to stop going for producers that are the most popular and go the ones who can work with his voice and style. Kanye is a popular producer but he is not that versatile.
