Janet Jackson – Feedback
The rumor was that Janet Jackson’s new single was supposed to leak this weekend, but it’s just Wednesday and here it is. I have to admit, I was completely excited when I heard that Janet was going to release a single this early, and the album isn’t due out until February of ’08. I guess she wanted a little feedback on the new single, “Feedback.” It’s definitely a cool dance record.
I must say, I am much more impressed with this track than I was with anything else that she dropped from last year’s 20 Y.O. I’m definitely rooting for Janet. I think she’s made some good choices, as far as her move to Def Jam and allowing L.A. Reid to be the executive producer of the album. Supposedly, the new single is produced by either Danjahandz, Timbaland’s protege, who produced the bulk of Britney’s new album – or Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who is responsible for countless hits. I wouldn’t be surprised. I always said I wanted them to work together on this new project.
I’m rooting for Janet this time around. This could be her comeback record. I think she got done dirty on the last go ’round…

hmmmm… so there is a little bit of a debate about who produced the song.
some say that it’s danjahandz, some say it’s rodney jerkins aka darkchild. I guess we’ll see. the production sounds like nate “danjahandz” hills, but I will say that the vocal arrangement definitely sounds like it could darkchild.

In July 2007, Jackson signed a new record contract with Island Records (ironically under the same ownership as her first label A&M Records, the label she left for Virgin. Island is also the label that picked up Mariah Carey after she was dropped by Virgin). Janet’s upcoming album will be released sometime in 2008, under the supervision of label.
Mariah & Janet are on the Same Label now & they both left Virgin.lol
Both albums are coming out in February & both prodcued by Jermain Dupri. Interesting.

her music sounds the same from when she was 22… when will she mature? its getting old and she cant compete with these younger girls anymore.
The beat is hot, definetly will go hard in the club. But I am dissapointed nontheless. Like others have said, I was hopng for a more mature R&B sound. I mean she has been doing this trendy type of music since “All for you”, and Im just ready for some introspective and meaningful janet. She had great dance joints, but my favorites were always here ballads and R&B tracks. I dont know how this will do because I thought her second single off of 20 yrs was hot too. Oh well, I guess ms badu wll have to quench my thirst for now.
