Kelly Rowland feat. Travis McCoy – Daylight
Kelly Rowland has teamed up with Gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy for her new single, “Daylight.” This track is taken from the re-release of her sophomore effort, Ms. Kelly, which didn’t do as well as expected. This sounds completely different from anything else on Ms. Kelly, so hopefully there will be some more songs added to the record, including some tracks that were left off of the album originally.
“Daylight” is a nice song, though. It sort of reminds me of something that would have been on her first album, Simply Deep. Not really in subject matter, but more so because of the alternative sound that it has. I definitely wouldn’t consider this the typical R&B track, so I’m wondering exactly where this will fit in with radio. Hopefully they will shoot a video for “Daylight,” although I’m still wondering what happened to the videos she did for “Comeback” and “Put It In (Work).” Remember those photos?

hmmm….im diggin it. I was one of those who wanted to support the “Ms. Kelly” CD so i bought it…its ok….not the greatest. She has a song on there with Tank called “The Show” its a really sexy song, its been on the radio out here in DC hopefully it makes it to the re-release version.

I used to love Kelly’s voice when she was in Destiny’s Child. Maybe she does better in Beyonce’s shadow. I didn’t like this one..
I just want Kelly to go back in the studio and get some better songwriters, sing her little heart out, put it on a blank cd, have 20 random brutally honest people review it and then appear onto the streets and not waste anymore of our time. And when she comes out she better not promote no one else’s shit but her own.
I really hope Kelly will be able to get her shine on soon. She has a pretty, laid back voice.
I kinda like the track, but if she’s trying to get people to buy the album… that is not the way to do it. The “indie” sound doesn’t sell enough records.

Actually I like this song. This type of song kinda of suits Kelly. She has definitely been having a difficult time finding her place as a solo artist. So maybe she needs to experiment with alternative sounds.

The song is amazing to me. Kelly has stepped out of her comfort zone and taken a risk. Her vocals were good, the beat was catchy, and to top it off she has an international superstar on the track with her. This song will do exceptionally well. I can definetly see it going #1 on the billboard Hot 100 and winning a grammy in the year 2009. I believe in you Kelly and keep doing your thing because I’m a true fan of yours and will support you in whatever you do. And when these haters start hatin, tell them do what you do but WATCH MY SHOES!!!!!!

this song is a hot track to have on a album but shouldnt be released. Kelly has the potential to be a big star, she has more personality and chrisma than beyonce. beyonce is a awesome performer, but when it comes to interviews she dont fly. I understand that they are family but buisness is business and if someone isnt properly representing you then you find someone who will. #36 Kelly don’t make music for all audiences. She said herself before she dropped Miss Kelly that she wanted to be more her roots of an urban rnb album. But since that didn’t work, she decided to jump on the bandwagon and recruit an alternative artist to help her sell records.
I heard this on another site and I really liked it. I think she does her think musically but she needs a persona. Maybe she should get an alter ego cause her personality, though she seems pleasant, doesn’t shine through. Although I like her style and her music, there is nothing that really makes me want to root for her or buy her album. Hell, I burned it from the copy I borrowed from the library. She needs to come out stompin in some big black boots or something if she wants to be seen and heard.

The song is okay nothing special. I think kelly is beautiful and appears to have a nice personality but she is boring if this song was perfect I still wouldn’t buy her cd. She should act and do something with dancing (Beyonce can’t touch her in those areas).
