Kelly Rowland feat. Travis McCoy – Daylight
Kelly Rowland has teamed up with Gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy for her new single, “Daylight.” This track is taken from the re-release of her sophomore effort, Ms. Kelly, which didn’t do as well as expected. This sounds completely different from anything else on Ms. Kelly, so hopefully there will be some more songs added to the record, including some tracks that were left off of the album originally.
“Daylight” is a nice song, though. It sort of reminds me of something that would have been on her first album, Simply Deep. Not really in subject matter, but more so because of the alternative sound that it has. I definitely wouldn’t consider this the typical R&B track, so I’m wondering exactly where this will fit in with radio. Hopefully they will shoot a video for “Daylight,” although I’m still wondering what happened to the videos she did for “Comeback” and “Put It In (Work).” Remember those photos?

I love Kelly and Ms. Kelly was an awesome album in my opinion. I still listen to it…Im upset that she does not recieve more credit for her talent…her album was just as good as B-Day they were just two different type of tempos…I feel Kelly has a more grown up approach to her music was B was bouncein her a** around yellin and screaming about something some man did wrong to her…but dont get me wrong B cd was tha shyt i just dont appreciate people not awknowledging Kelly for her great work! Her Simply Deep album was crap in my opinion and Im happy that she bounced back from that!….Team Kelly
Kelly PLEASE LEAVE Mr. Knowles and get better management. I can you come out with a song by yourslef? Damn step it up a bit. The people on your songs don’t hale you at all. P.S. Travis is cute in a crazy way.

lets face facts . kelly’s new song is alright nothing wo about it and definitely not a good look for a single. This is not kelly’s style, it hurts me to see that kelly is trying to appease white crowd and not blacks, as stated where would this fit. this aint no rnb. Kelly’s style was absolutely Ms kelly album she put out, only if she could stop thinking she is a brandy or whitney, let her realise she is kelly. The problem is that kelly does not just have the ‘IT” factor. She was thinking right when she said she wanted to quit music. peace kelly, but i guess the music(as in female singers) industry favors lighter skin people, just keeping it real.
I think it’s cool. It’s like old-school Whitney Houston. I love Travis but I think the track is cool with or without my baby’s daddy. Travis is a great artist. I think this will make people more aware of him than her.

That song could’ve been HOT if Kelly could sing it right. I love the hook and I love the beat and whole feel of the song…but Kelly couldn’t do it any justice. Im so pissed. I hate when I hear a good track with a weak singer. Uuuuh. It’s like almost having a orgasm but your partner finish before you. Pissssssed. Such a waste of energy:(

I love this damn song, I keep playin, it, it should be on the CD and a single, but I think she should have started over with a whole new CD like Janet did for 20YO then did a tour promoting both of them. Just my opinion.
I’m trying to be supportive of Kelly, but honestly I think she needs new management and a different direction. She also needs better choices in songs and then better promotion. I loved “Stole” and even “Dilemma” from her first album, I think she needs to make more songs like those. She’s not a bad singer, but lacks charisma, stage presence, and the whole “IT” factor. All the singles she’s released from this album thus far (“Like This”, “Ghetto”) were rather lackluster. This single sounds alright, but I honestly doubt it’ll be a huge single, as much as I love Travie (he’s my current celeb crush).
Kelly being dark-skinned instead of light may play a factor, but I honestly don’t think it’s the main one. Her music just isn’t that good and the singles she’s released of “Ms. Kelly” thus far are lackluster. She really needs to step her game up if she plans on lasting long.

nuthing to do with light or dark, i just don’t see me putting this song on my playlist. it’s ok but her voice is weak. i mean look at Christina Milian and Kelis, they are lighter females who got dropped. And while A Keys is doing very well, there are a lot of people who don’t like her, light or not, i’ve never bought one of her albums. If your voice doesn’t vibe with the times or it’s off, people won’t buy it. I mean Rihanna light as hell and her sales weren’t all that. Black people (and others visiting) let that shit go.

Get her a reality show on BET or VH1. That way she can talk bout all her insecurities and ppl can connect with her.. Make her a household name. She can talk bout her albums not doing well. Show her determined to succeed.. EVERYONE ROOTS FOR the underdog look at KEYSHIA COLE’S wack ass..
Get Timbaland on a beat, Stargate, Swiszz. Shop different record labels like GEFFEN..
Sell the show as a means of endorsing. Shop creative projects to magazines so she can get a few covers… She can use dat time to promote the show and her music .. u kno
Drop an album coinciding with a release day in which there isnt competition like T.I.
Get her a hot script where she can show her oscar acting scraps..

Oh, I love some Travis, you just don’t know! I like the song. But Kelly, sweetheart, you need to heed our advice and RUN. I know she’s your best friend, but old Matt is only looking out for one artist…it’s not you, it’s not Michelle, and it’s barely even Solange. Run girl!!

she’s super boring to me. and this is a remake of Bobby Womack’s “Daylight”. The beat caught me right when I heard it. It’s not bad, though. That’s probably because I like the original so much! She doesn’t have the pizzazi that Beyonce has.
If anybody heard “LOVE” or “BETTER WITHOUT YOU” (Beyonce’s personal fav) off Ms Kelly, you’d stop hating. She’s a victim of owing Matthew for all he’s done- and being stuck with crappy singles. She blows in that song Solange wrote- hands down- like never before. Everybody wh ACTUALLY hears the album admits it aint bad.
