okay, so the mp3 is slowed down in the audio player for some reason. I’m checking up on it right now to see if I can fix it. I knew the song sounded funny. when I stream it from using the URL, it sounds fine, but for some reason, the audio player on the site is slowing it down.

Michelle has always been my favorite member and even though she hasnt got a voice like Whitney or Mariah, different and very unique and that’s what I like about it so I’m diggin the song and I betcha Michelle does a helleva lot better than Kelly’s whack behind who has to re-release her dumb cd Ms.Kellly

I’ve always tried to like this chick even when other ppl would call her talentless, I’d say her voice was “original” and “unique” but with this song, I can’t help but feel that if it was any other voice singing but Michelle, I’d like it more. I like it. I can’t wait to hear her album. Judging by the way she’s handled herself since the end of the group i think she’ll do well which is more than i can say for Kelly Rowland. I have always like Michelle and her voice is very different, reminds me of Brandy somewhat. And alot of the hot artist we’ve had in the past didn’t need to sound like Whitney case in point, Brandy, T-box of TLC, Toni Braxton, Patty Labelle, so people get over the vocal ability. It really isn’t everything. Honestly it believe it’s all in how you deliver a track so as long as she can do a hot job at that then she’ll definitely do alright. Maybe she’ll prove that it wasn’t all about Beyonce and I’m sure B would agree!

I come on here to be supportive of black owned site. It is constructive criticism. Asking them to chill with the spam which is spyware is not being mean. The problem with her jumping across genres, IMO is that it shows a lack of sincerity and how can you be even remotely artistic if you aren’t sincere? The situation that leaves you in is either having A. either so distinctive or phenomenal a voice that people don’t mind that you’re indifferent or B. falling into the seen-before-heard category, in which it’s all basically retinal…you look good, who cares what you’re singing…
And, Michelle falls into neither category IMO…So, she’s basically the insincere, Machiavel, loping across genres and casting the blanket of “Destiny’s Child” over serious, struggling *stars*.

“Stop this car” by Michelle Williams is original, clean, and rythmic. The key players who produced this cut did an excellent job. Of course, Michelle’s performance was superb. Looking forward to the CD.

First off, as Brian mentioned, the media player is not working properly and the song is off beat and way too slow. That’s why Michelle’s voice sounds way off and sort of deep. You need to hear the real snippet to get a better feel for it.

Second, it doesn’t sound like a Stargate production at all. Other than that repetitive tapping in the background, it sounds way different then the “Irreplaceable” beat they’ve been overusing.

I really like Michelle’s voice. Its has a nice smooth yet raspy sound to it. I can’t judge this song from just a snippet, but so far I’m liking it. Sounds much better than some of the material Kelly has been releasing.

I’m hoping her first single… which was produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, will be hot!

Its funny how people are talking about this young woman’s sincerity in reference to her Spiritually . How would you know? Better Yet How Dare you? She has her own relationship with Christ and should be allowed to do so. I get tired of “Power Christians” thinking they have the right to speak on or take away someone’s right to Praise God. Life, relationships, events happens around us why can’t she sing about that? The truth of the matter is that Gospel Music is filled with the same snakes the same judgmental assholes as Secular music yet she has still remained who she is. Plus, I am sure if she wanted to be that way, she could point out a few of your flaws too.

I don’t know why people say Michelle cannot sing man, I remmebr the first time i rreally heard her was in the “survivor ” song and she has a soulful voice, Me lovey that.
And yes, she reminds me a little of fantasia.

i do like michelle, and i actually believe that she can sing a lot better than kelly. i heard the two of them sing live, and michelle had so much more clarity in her voice than kelly. but i don’t like this song. it sounds corny. sorry michelle.

Nice song. Michelle sounds good. Michelle always had a wonderful voice thats why she fit so well with DC. I think her R&B CD will be better and do better than Kelly’s.

what do you mean she cant? for those of you non musically inclined people michelle has an amazing diverse sound and incredible range. To say she cant sing and shes boring even kills your own opinion it shows a big portion of music stupidity. her R&B sound is different i will admitt it did shock me at first cause i didnt think she could pull of a hit record but this is clearly a hit record. it may not become one because of her past but i dont think shes trying or her label is trying to make hits with michelle but she will make history win more grammys and continue to be very great at what she does. she cant sing you need to punch your self in the face for that you need to watch her performances and listen to her albums before you make that dumb comment, maybe you dont like her voice and thats fine but she cant sing you really have over did it fact of the matter is she has a record deal grammys and money and clearly your a hater cause your on hear posting negative comments

I like it a lot and I didn’t expect to because I always thought Michelle was boring one. Personally, the song reminds me of old school Janet Jackson, it could easily have been on Control or Rythm Nation. Back in the days when similar themed lyrics were more prevalant. I love the vocals and the message which very refreshing in these days of drop it like its hot type songs, I can’t wait to hear more.
