♫ Sterling Simms feat. Cassidy - Stuck In Traffic
Sterling Simms was someone that I was looking out for this past year, but he disappointed me a little bit. I was impressed with his collaboration with Jay-Z on 2006’s Kingdom Come on “Dig A Hole,” but with two failed singles released earlier in the year (I hated the first one, featuring Sean Paul from Youngbloodz, “Jump Off,” but I was absolutely in love with the Prince-inspired “Nasty Girl”), I wasn’t sure where that was going to leave Sterling. My interest in his project was revived slightly when Mario brought him on stage at a concert over the summer and he performed a little bit.
But he’s back with a new single, “Stuck In Traffic,” featuring Cassidy. Even though I’m not in love with it, like I was “Nasty Girl,” I can see it’s appeal as a single for radio. It feels a little bit too much like R. Kelly for me, but I guess it’s whatever works. Hopefully “Stuck In Traffic” will give Sterling the lift he needs to get his album released.

I work for a magazine and I met Sterling in person and he’s a cocky little bastard and my question is how are you cocky and you’re a nobody? He already thinks he’s on top of the world. Anyway this song is not hot but Nasty girl was different. But im glad to see that finally a young boy is not making it based on his looks and body because he hasn’t reached any status yet and thats saying just because you’re cute doesn’t mean you’ll be successful!

Yeah, this song is okay. It needs something else to it. No. #11: I’ve found most (NOT ALL) unknown rap artist in Philly are a little cocky nobodies from my experience. But the song sounds good for radio driving; need some originality, reminds me of Usher. This young man has potential, and everyone is trying to make it in the industry. Just give him some good songwriters/producers and he’ll be alright. But let’s give it up for Philly!!! Sterling, cool down with your cockiness, even though you have great genes and you’re a cutie, but that won’t work totally in the music world. Looks help, but they are not everything IF YOU’RE REALLY COCKY!!! STAY HUMBLE, AND LET GOD LIFT YOU UP!!! Keep up the good work though. Everyone has to start somewhere!!!
