I hate to be the crazy person, but I’m sure a few rappers from the East coast and other places are…I guess I’ll say…not too sad. Everybody knows people have been salty about the South’s success of late…I’m sure they’re loving the fact that the biggest Southern artists are getting taken out: TI got bosted, Wayne’s in legal trouble, and now Pimp C is dead.
Again, it’s trivial, but I’m sure they’re not too sad about it.

My prayers go out to the fans, family and friends. He’s in a better place, so celebrate and try to hold back your tears. God allow all things to happen for a reason.Pimp C will always be remembered.

Rapper Pimp C of the rap duo UGK was found dead this morning in a Hollywood hotel room. Local police said his death is being treated as a homicide.

Police responded to a 911 call and found the 33-year-old rapper (real name Chad Butler), dead in his bed at the Mondrian Hotel. His publicist confirmed his death this afternoon.

Pimp C had performed in Los Angeles last Saturday.

UGK — which also featured Bun B — formed in Port Arthur in the late-’80s. The duo released its major label debut, Too Hard to Swallow, in 1992, and drew more attention when it appeared on Jay-Z’s hit single Big Pimpin’ in 2000.

Any momentum from that guest spot was halted when Butler was imprisoned in January 2002 after falling behind on community service required after pleading no contest to aggravated assault. He was paroled in December 2005 after serving half of his sentence.

His release initiated national interest in a new recording by a reunited UGK. The album was scheduled for release in late 2006, but was oft-delayed. The two-CD opus Underground Kingz was released in August and debuted No. 1, UGK’s first chart-topper.

I’m one of their biggest fans, but it’s never too late for drug awareness. He might have died of something else…NOBODY knows at this point BUT why can’t they discuss drugs? Pimp C certainly rapped about purple stuff and lean and weed and white girl…let them discuss it. Let the younger kids read about drugs and see that, though it’s glorified, people die. This is the same thing I was saying when Jay Z decided to do that album…well, guess what…unlike Jay Z, this guy REALLY WAS a drug dealer and a pimp and guess what? This is what happens…even if he didn’t die of a drug overdose, he’s dead and instead of mourning, we’re guessing which drug might have killed him…that’s bad enough.

I’m from Jersey and everyone from CL that knows me know I love UKG as much as I blasted them while having our conferences and they’d yell at me telling me to turn it down(well all but Caramel Skeelite lol).
Being from the east or south has nothing to do with it, a man had lost his life and there was no beef that was that great that anyone would be happy over this shit. Capt. Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner’s office tells TMZ that it appears as though rapper Pimp C died of natural causes in a Hollywood hotel room today.

We’re told no drug paraphernalia or other drugs were found in the room. The rapper, we’ve learned, was found fully clothed on top of the bed. He did not seem to have fallen or injured himself and he was positioned on his side.

Winter said it did not appear that there was anyone else in the room at the time of his death. An autopsy will be performed and toxicology test results will be available in six to eight weeks.

Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, was one half of the Houston rap duo UGK.

I remember listening to Pimp C’s interview a few months back and he sounded off on more people than just homosexuals in the industry

It’s sad but not as shocking as one would think. Given the lack of details about how he died, it was probably a homocide. And since he talked so much mess since being released from prison earlier this year, it’s safe to say he made so new enemies somewhere. Either way, RIP.
