Nicole’s already had 2 failed singles this past year, so her team resulted to sticking some tracks up on her official site, hernameisnicole.com, and having some of her fans vote on what the next single should be. Among these tracks were the Akon-produced, “Puankenikeni.” It also features a cameo from Konvict signees, Brick & Lace. And it seems to be the winner. If you’re unfamiliar, the puakenikeni is a beautiful Hawaiian flower. So it seems as though Nicole is paying homage to her heritage.
“Puakenikeni” is the third single from the lead Pussycat Doll’s debut solo album, Her Name Is Nicole. I can’t say whether I like or dislike the song, but I will say that I think that this is what they should have been going for straight from the beginning. People know Nicole for dancing, and I think that if she puts out a solid dance video for the track, it may be good for her.
Check out this new video coming from Grammy nominated songtress, Chrisette Michele for her third single “Be Ok”.
This anthem is one of many great songs on her debut album I Am. The video features a cameo from Persia White from Girlfriends.
