Reverend Run and his wife Justine Simmons adopted an American-born baby girl in September, who they named Miley Justine Simmons. Miley was one month old when they brought her home and will make her debut on the family’s MTV reality series, Run’s House, in January.

BRANDY NOT AT FAULT?

According to recently released reports, Brandy may not have been at fault for the death of a woman in a car accident that took place in Los Angeles late last year.
Apparently the women hit the car in front of her first and then slammed on her brakes causing Brandy to barrel into her. They also found traces of marijuana in the women who passed.
The L.A. City Attorney has until the end of the business day on Friday to decide whether to file criminal charges against Brandy — that’s when the one-year statute of limitations runs out. Sources tell TMZ there is significant division in the City Attorney’s office, and a decision still has not been made. The problem for the City Attorney: if they file manslaughter charges, they have to prove Brandy did something negligent — and we’re told that could be difficult if not impossible. [SOURCE]

I’m so very happy for the Simmons! The baby is adorable and I’m sure they will give her all the love she truly deserves in life. This is the type of news that makes you proud of being black. We need to adopt our own babies and stop letting white folk confuse our children in these mixed race adoptions.

Adoption is a great thing – to me it is the ultimate way of helping someone in need, to give them a family. My husband and I have been looking into adoption, and it is expensive. I commend The Simmons for what they are doing, and that baby is beautiful.
