Janet Jackson – Feedback (Extended Mix) (full) – listen
Just a little re-cap. I posted the radio edit of Janet’s new single, “Feedback” last Wednesday, but an extended mix edit has surfaced with some additional vocals. I actually heard this song at a couple of clubs over the week. I knew that people would respond well to this song. Even though they say the song isn’t set to impact radio until the 7th of January, people are certainly digging Janet. I’ve heard it on a local station here already. Perhaps this version is for the clubs.

I got a few e-mails asking to post this song in the new music review, so I guess this is another re-cap. “Swagger” is not LeToya’s first single from the new album, just a buzz single. My opinion of the song still stands: it sounds like something from her first album, but I was definitely jamming to it last week. I hope LeToya’s sophomore solo set is a good album. I’m hoping she does well just like she did on the first release, LeToya.
Chingy feat. Ludacris & Bobby Valentino – Gimme That (full) – listen
Chingy’s album Hate It or Love It was released today, and here’s the follow-up single to his current single “Fly Like Me,” featuring Amerie. The deeper voice still always gets me! But I think that the label really is making good single choices for Chingy this time around. They’re playing the right cards. Even though I’m not a huge fan, I can definitely see the appeal of the songs that he’s released. Nice work.
Chris Brown feat. T-Pain – Greatness (full) – listen
I’m assuming this is a track that was recorded during the Exclusive sessions. I think that T-Pain and Chris Brown could do good songs together, because I think that “Kiss Kiss” was a good single for him. “Greatness” had potential but it is definitely missing something, which is probably why it was just scrapped from the album. Chris’s voice, to me, doesn’t need the voice box effect that T-Pain uses, but I guess it’s his trademark. Either way, I definitely understand why this remained bonus material and wasn’t thrown on the mix.

Actually selling records is all that matters for janet at this point! Homegirl just got a new record deal and her last two albums didn’t really perform well. She needs a hit record and she needs it fast! She’s doing what she has to do. And for the record, britney’s whole style is a Janet knockoff, so janet can’t steal or copy something that is already hers. With that said, I like all the songs and I’m rooting for latoya!
