TV ROUND UP: THE REAL WORLD “HOLLYWOOD” CAST / ALICIA KEYS ON ‘THE VIEW’ / CLASH OF THE CHOIRS
Friday, December 21, 2007

The Real World just wrapped up on its twentieth season taping of the new Hollywood cast and here is half of the confirmed cast members. Now of course, all 5 were not originally in the house - Britini and Nick were later added to the cast after 2 houseguests ended up leaving for whatever reasons.
One glance of all of these good looking black folks, and you would think College Hill was moving to MTV. According to the Vevmo Real World forum, the cast of this season’s real world are aspiring actors, models, and etc.
ALICIA ON THE VIEW

Alicia Keys stopped by The View this week and spoke on Jamie Lynn Spears and her pregnancy. She was quoted as sending this message to the young teen:
“I think that maybe she can use this opportunity to talk about the ways that it’s really important to have safe sex and it’s difficult [for teens] to refrain and restrain but it’s really important because it changes your whole life.”
Right on Miss Keys. Mary J. Blige and John Legend were also quoted on congratulating Spears and giving wise words of advice.
CLASH OF THE CHOIRS OVER

Yep its over and I felt kind of sad that Miss Patti couldn’t take this one. Nick Lachey and his choir won the $250,000 for a charity of his choice. Though I felt Patti and her choir was more raw with it, all contestants come out winners and will still receive funds for their charities.

Nick’s choir deserved to win. Patti’s choir did awful on that gay medley. Wtf with her kicking her shoes off. Be classy. She doesn’t know how to do that on stage. And Nick’s choir were the only ones to do a cepella! People only saying she should of won because she;s a so-callled “legend”! SO WHAT? it’s about the choir not her! Those members in Team Labelle didn’t even mention the chartiy they only cared about meeting her! Nick’s choir had fun with it. It seems kind of racist to want Patti to win. I bet if she came on stage without her “face” no one would even had watched it!

I only watched yesterday and I am sorry but Patti was phenomenal and her choir too. They did ‘No more drama right’??! That’s was FIYAAAAAAAAH

I co-sign with # 7 I saw on t.v. where Mary J. Blige and John Legend congraulated Jamie Lynn Spears on her pregnancy. I know they were trying to be supportive but Jamie is only 16 years old. She’s still just a child herself I think it would have been better if they just would have said “no comment”. LOL at # 31 my dad was shocked also when Nick Lachey’s choir won over Patti’s.

Wow..Real World lost alot of it’s black audience when they didn’t add more minorities on the show..I know alot of blacks watched “Real World: Las Vegas, Chicago, Back to NY. etc. because it was more diverse. Ever since they had Real World Australia with a predominate white cast it wasn’t good because it wasn’t a variety. This season they have more Blacks so it might be interesting and different. Of course it would be drama and ignorance because for many years that “Real World” has aired has always been about drama and ignorance so please not let this be a race issue…because those white folks on Real World were always foolish and ignorant because we the consumers love watching it
Who watches a a show to see two people make up nicely after verbal assaults? No one! we want to see hennessey bottle busted on top of someone’s dome..lets be real..lol
Jamie Lynn Spears made a mistake like many teenage young girls..she is no different she is just a public figure that parents want her to be a role-model..which I despise because celebrities should not be role-models but rather inspirations..which is a difference..I think Alicia’s comment was appopriate..she should speak about teenage pregnancy and could be the first young celebrity to be a spokesperson on it..you can change something that is a negative view-point to something postive
I don’t watch clash of the choirs but much success to the choir that won

Cosign # 25 Judah, I think what you said about beyonce & alicia is true but their living in Hollywierd & their lifestyles don’t represent REAL LIFE.
& Mike WHy’d you cal Rhianna a jumpoff? She may dress in scanty clothing but so does beyonce & all the other pop star. Doesn’t mean you have to call her a whore….
& #28 I cosign but when was the “REAL World’ intending on ever portaying real life touching on real issues. It’s reality tv, which means it’s not real, not fully of course but still. All you ever see on the real world are: 1) the cast going clubbing 2) the cast getting …..tipsy & 3) the cast getting laid. & yea they have jobs but still….

Judah not everybody in the world sees having kids at a young age as good, whether you are financially stable or not. It so happens Jamie is at an age where she doesn’t even know who she is yet. No matter how old you are having kids is a BIG decision, it changes everything about you drastically. Its no longer about you its about the kid.
U brought up Beyonce and A.Keys…for what? They are women who are in control of their future and very career focused. Kids is (and should) be the last thing on thier minds. So if they have kids at 30 I’m sure its because they wanted to wait so they be mentally ready to handle them.
Cuz personally I’m the same age as them and I’m definately not trying to have kids no time soon. Im looking at the bigger picture….i’m focused on my career. Kids can come later I’m living “the good life”.

And I dont think the black cast members is what made Vegas so popular cuz none of them were interesting to me. I think Treshell’s ass made Vegas popular all by herself!

@ #76 - Really
You REALLY need to go and sit your a$$ down somewhere!! For you to talk smack about Patti’s performance like that tells me that you wouldn’t know talent if it walked up and slapped you in the face. Most people did not want her choir to win because she is a living legend (which she is). We wanted her choir to win because they brought raw talent to the table! It is funny that you mention that she was classless for kicking her shoes off while on stage. It is that kind of ‘realness’ that she displays that makes her one of the queens of her game for the last forty years. REALLY, you need to go and take that shish to your cohorts over at TMZ!

This is going to be a nightmare. They always make the Black people on The Real World look really foolish and their ratings have been extremely low lately so they are just trying to do something that is going to mix things up a bit. I predict multiple fights, a pregnancy scare, excessive use of the n-word and a bunch of inappropriate stereotypes (including the whole “brothas playing basketball” thing and Blacks being able to dance better than white). *sigh*

Lmao, we don’t have to agree. I don’t understand why so many black people have such a small mental capacity that they can’t grasp that. Sadly enough, most of you people that tried to respond to me are too stupid to even understand my point to the degree where you could even retort it. Let’s establish one thing first; I don’t engage in “n****r nonsense” arguments or debates so if you happen to worship these people, more power to you. If you think that these black celebrities have “control” over their careers, their songs, their movies, and their lives, more power to you. If you think that the “image” that they present on television is actually them, then more power to you. If you think that they say things because that’s what they really think 100% of the time, then more power to you. If you think that they’re “stuntin”; lmao, and making an actual difference in the black community which controls 0.05% of the American economy with their vain nonsense, folly, and encouragement to worship money, then more power to you. The comments of many semi-braindead people make me understand why the abortion, AIDS, and divorce rate in the black community is so high and the marriage rate is so low.
No disrespect but there is no argument about the young girl having a child because she has decided to have it. Move on, and more importantly, stay in your damn place. What should people do, stress the girl until she has a damn miscarriage? They’re trying to use this girl as a platform to push their population control agenda. I comment on this because I see this in the black and hispanic community and it’s the reason why there are so many angry children. There are too many idiotic, selfish adults. Everybody doesn’t want to abort their child or throw them in a dumpster because they have to live the “good life” until their teeth get brown, their vagina gets dry, and their breasts sag to their ankles like some people. Everyone also doesn’t want to whore themselves out at different clubs every weekend, and wipe away tears and blame the black man when your HIV test comes back positive. Clown-ass negroes.

112 Judah: So, you are basically stating that they have a small mental capacity, because they think that you were wrong for assuming - with what evidence? - Alicia Keys is a closeted lesbian? Why do you think that behind every single action - as innocent as that statement by Alicia Keys was - is puppeteered by white America? Has it ever crossed your mind that these artists could be genuine people?

@97 TJacks - co sign all day.
Nope, Judah is either a homophobe or closet case himself. It’s why he/she calls everyone stupid and brings up gays and lesbians in everything he writes about. He/she believes the longer his/her post (including as many biblical references as possible) proves something. In actuality it shows insecurity and ignorance on his/her own part. Neither Beyonce or A Keys is worried about people like Judah.
Jamie Lynn is not the first, won’t be the last in this sitch. I think the only reason celebs are “congratulating” her is because she decided to take responsibility for her actions rather than take the easy way out. However, regardless of the fact that this goes on all the time, her situation is going to cause discussion among young teen girls (and hopefully boys) with their parents.
Have a great day all and Happy holidays (if you celebrate)

This is the first 1/2 black cast for the Real World perhaps they think more people will tune in-the ratings will increase…I used to be a fan, the cast was so typical. It should be interesting…I am thinking another College Hill, although I hope not!
I think the Spears family is simply going through what any average (non-Hollywood0 family would be going through. People make bad decisions all the time their dirty laundry (Brit’s and her sister’s) is just in the open.

@ The real world MTV cast:
Thank you MTV for confirming the power of the black dollar.
The token black thing was getting a little played out. And MTV has way too many I’m rich and white brat shows for my taste. This will indeed boost ratings with the blacks. It also seems like a very productive and inspiring cast of black folks. Then again, they could have picked the most ignant negroes out the bunch. I’m interested to see how this turns out. Hopefully they are trying to project us in a positive light with this casting choice. If not, MTV is going down in my book……….

Motherfuckin’ word. Being a confident black woman myself, I get so SICK of my fellow black people ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS blaming the white man for their situation. And whenever a black person becomes succesful, they say ‘oohh, they white now, they CATER to white people now’. Fuck that! Stop being so sour over everything and nothing, because EVERYONE can reach something in life. I know I did.
