Who the hell is making the decisions on what singles to release? Its like they are hell bent on making sure this album flops. This choice was a disaster especially since his first two singles flopped.

Are you serious??? Why, No definition, Kryptonite all wouldve been much better choices. Go is probably not even going to go gold. So sad.

This is a beautiful song and has a nice message not only to his mother, but to all families going through things like this. Mario is back on track with some nice material and I will now go out and support him after this. Beautiful video very raw and real! Love it go head Mario! Oh and this is the first time I am the 1st post yay!!!

Mario SUCKS and his nose looks like Ms. Piggy. He has woman hips, breast and butt. In addition to that he’s just another R&B singer like the rest with these white looking chicks all over them NEXT>>>

I agree entirely with 1 & 2. it’s a sweet song for his mom but it’s not single material…Kryptonite or No Definition would have been better choices. People don’t even know that he has an album out.
His label must be trying hard to drop him…

I love this song and video! Both are realistic and have great messages that many people of all kinds can relate to. Mario has a great album and I’m sure he will do well. Stop all the damn negativity and ghetto mentality and turn your minds to something positive and uplifting. Go Mario!

I have to say that I really like the song and the video. I am not a big fan of Mario and haven’t followed his career much, but I have to say that this puts him in a whole new stratosphere for me. I tend to not listen to the radio much or a lot of new music because a lot of it is trash, but I like the fact that the subject matter of this song was something he cared about and that people who’ve been through tough times can relate to. Music is suppose to move people not only on the dance floor and I think it’s moving. I may even by the album now.

Brian, the album is already in stores. Aren’t you supposed to be on top of these things?
Anyway, I like this. It takes a strong person to not only deal with their mother’s addiction , but for them to put it out there for the world to see.

daaanng all these comments show exactly why mainstream music out now is waaaaccc as hell. i never understood how people could let a pointless song with no meaning (like soulja boy - crank that) stay at no. 1 for so many weeks and let other artists like tamia and mario go unnoticed when they put out music with thought and passion and lyrics that have meaning. but i guess thats how people like it. a dope beat is all you need to make it big in the industry. how sad is that.

What is up with all the hate you guys have for Mario?Mario is one of my favorite artists out there right now. This song not only has a positive message, which is hard to come across in today’s music, but is also a really great song. Just cause he aint singing about money hoes doesn’t mean it isn;t good stuff.
Go cop his album, it is really good and refreshing. You can listen to basically every track on it without skippin a track

I like the video, he and monique make me proud to be coming from the old high school. Very successful people. I love how much Baltimore imagery was in this video and how he stole some of the video footage from his mtv special. But its cool. Its a nice song and people need to stop putting him down so much. He doesn’t make the decisions on his singles so you can’t be mad at him directly, get pissed off at J Records.

There are a lot of dumba** comments on here. How can anyone criticize a POSITIVE song and video like this? To hell with album sales and critics. Music is SUPPOSE to be real and healing, especially R&B. The kid has talent and I hope he does well. Black Folks really NEED to start being more positive. REAL TALK…..1

The clip is well shot, but this looks like a PSA against drug abuse NOT an R&B video. If he really wanted to put this emssage out there then he shoulda released a double A-side with “Krypnote” or “No Definition” as the main tracks. Real talk, i bought this CD and i’ve liked every track. But his single choices have not been great. He’s turning out to be another Kelly Rowland.

I dont care what anyone says. Im sure Mario and his team want to sell records, and like it or not songs like this dont do it. Songs like this are great for an album but not single material when you are tryiong to push your record. None of the songs on his CD are on the level of Soulja Boy’s BS so no matter what he released it would have some level of substance. SO get off of your high horses and platforms we all love this kind of music but not for the radio. Some of you people would never make it as record execs.

I love this song and video. It takes alot for a man to open up to his fanbase about his personal struggles and I commend him for it. Keyshia Cole ain’t the only one with a mom that has issues. It’s funny how yall get upset cause he isn’t promoting the singles that YOU want to hear. Did yall ever stop to think maybe HE believes in quality music over record sales and this single may be HIS choice to release. Seeing from how long he’s been in this business and his record in cd sales it’s NOT about money but more about Artistry and being free to express it?
I glad he released this it sounds better than the payola crap out there that’s forced down our throats until we begin to like it. Like some mediocre artists out there.

I love Mario SO much! I have been a fan of his since “Let Me Love You”. I’ve been hooked on him since then. He’s so handsome and has a unique voice, which to me, makes him stand out. He’s got a lot on him trying to concentrate on his music carreer and have to deal with problems on the home front. I love him and will keep him and his mom in my prayers.
Go Get The Album!

I love this song… By Mario wanting to put this song out I don’t think it had anything to do with popularity but to share his and his mothers testimony. Forget that his nose is big why don’t some of you grow up and the get the message. Why his looks matter when the message of this song can motivate and strengthen a family in a similar situation.

I love Mario cd and Do Right is a good song. The cd is on repeat in the car and he has one of the most beautiful voices around. I was reading an article on Billboard.com this morning and he said he may release a new cd next year late summer. He should because Go was leaked and delayed for over a year and when it finally dropped on Tues everyone had heard it.

Why are y’all dissing that wack ass Soulja Boy song for being #1? When you could really be pointing the finger at a wack R&B song for getting to #1…mainly Chris Brown’s “Kiss Kiss” the lyrics in that song are horrible yet people are still buying it because they like the way he looks rather than the lack of singing talent he has.
How come a wack ass singer like Chris Brown can sell 294,000 in the first week with his album but a great and talented singer like Mario can sell only 75,000 in the first week?
These little teenage girls need to be beaten senseless for buying albums solely because of the artist instead of the music.

I agree with you both Destined and ILL.
The song and video are beautiful. Anyone who saw his special on MTV can understand why they chose this song as a single.

Mario and Tamia are both talented artists, that get little recognition.

That video made me cry. Music that makes you feel. I agree with everyone who stated that most music today is ridiculous and not real music. thats exactly why music lovers know that the tracks you like best on the album are the ones they never play. Go Mario! This is such a beautiful message and so many families can benefit from this message being put out there. You have so many rough necks out there putting out music about how they are making so much money selling drugs but now we can see how their duties effect the families. Shux, just look at Keyshia Cole’s mom. I don’t even know if drugs are really her issue any more. She really needs to calm down because she just makes Keyshia’s image appear more ghetto and sloppy than real. Neffe is such a real woman about hers but Frankie really needs to calm down. I mean you can be real without being all loud and rambunctious like that, but this is not about them. But back to Mario, I am really glad that he is even stepping up to the plate to help his mom because I know that that just has to be a hard thing to witness and go through as a child. I hope and pray that she remains clean. Oh and i’ve always liked his music. He is very talented. Team Mario!

no matter if this is a single or a PSA Mario has major talent and there are many artist out here who are riding on the BS high of the industry where most of the music that they sing is meaningless. Over half of the music that Beyonce puts out is meaningless but people still love her. there are major artist in this industry whom if they were asked to write a song that had substance could not find the first word, y bcuz half of them don’t write anyway…at the end of the day, the record companies don’t care about anything but record sales. Anyone who knows quality music knows that the real artists’ of the industry will never get the shine cuz people don’t want to hear the positive but thrive on the negative so the can have something to put down or gossip about!!!!!!!!!! Take the song for what it is worth and give the man his props!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
