Good Luck Whitney, waiting for the new cd!

Wow. I’m shocked. Absolutely SHOCKED. I am rooting for Whitney as much as the next person, but her voice sounds AWFUL. I expected their to be some damage after all the abuse, but not this much.

I’m gone continue to pray for her, and I hope her voice continues to heal. I want the sister to do well. I really do. I just wasn’t expecting to hear that.

It’s unfortunate, but her voice is probably permamently damaged - that’s the consequences of some bad choices and decisions. But, the most important thing is that she is clean and hopefully on the come up.

She would probably do better to develop some new material because people will expect her to sound the same on her old stuff and judge her accordingly. She can probebly retrain her voice and deliver some some good new music.

I love that Whitney’s back. Her voice does not sound strong right now, but she’s just getting warmed up. I wish the best for her and hope she stays clean. As a singer/performer myself, Whitney’s a true inspiration. Go Whitney!!!!!!

There was nothing wrong with her voice. There was a lot of echo from the mike that may have made it appear that she was cracking, but her vocals sound clear to me. I think some of yall are on some crack if you can’t hear the difference………sheesh.

i actually though she would sound alot worse, they can still work with this voice in the studio. shes never going to sound like she used to but who does anymore anyway. Thankfully her album will not be out for another year. Thats sufficent time for her voice to heal, and won’t be what it was 5 or 10 years ago but it will still be pretty good. She needs to work with a coach, and practise dilligently. Not only that stay prayed up too.

Whitney sounded horrible compared to how she use to sound over the years. Another example of how drugs will damage your vocal cords is Mary J Blige. She use to blow back in the day, but she has to force a note. MJB still my girl though so I’m not hating.

I don’t want to hear the age excuse, Patti LaBelle can still blow as old as she is. I still think Whitney will be successful though cause after all shes been through and the fan base she’s maintained, people will be eager to support her.

The way people are talking, i’m scared to even watch the You Tube clips. I will say that Whitneys reality show sort of turned me off of her. She is an amazing talent..but she’s ignorant, something I would have rather not known about her, I thought she carried herself better then that. I agree with everyone who is saying that this performance was ok and there’s still hope. I am a whitney fan and pray for her to get better. I think a lot of people are just waiting for a chance to knock this woman down for all her wrongs…yes she made bad choices but who hasn’t…there’s no perfect person in this world. I think she should really hook up with some jazz singers for some vocal training and some powerhouse OLD TIME singers…the real ones. She didn’t sound good to me I know she has aged and of course the drugs so I really wasn’t expecting her to sound like she use to. Maraih Carey sounds a mess now to she hardley even sings just kind of wispers. Most of the older sigers (Jennifer holiday, sometimes Pati and even Aretha at times) scream through most of their songs now so I think age and the drugs played a major part in Whitney’s vocals being how they are. Unfortunately for Whitney in the singing scale of 1 to 10, Whitney was a 10 and she is being judged by those same high standards today. I personally think it is too early to say whether her voice has been permanently affected by drugs.
Yes your voice does change as you grow older and that change doesn’t necesarriy have to be for the worst. A good singers knows how to work with that change. By the way I saw Gladys Knight and Dianna Ross live in concert and they were absolutley fantastic.

I love Whitney Houston she is the bomb, but I only wish that she didn’t pick up the pipe. All i want is to become a singer, and i wish my voice is as good as Whitneys used to be. She ruined a wonderful blessing and it just makes me mad.
