Ok, I just listened to the entire song and she can really blow!!! I mean, you feel the intensity in her singing and words. Whoever she is in love with she is passionate about how happy he makes her and pleasing this person to the point that they never have a reason to go any where else. And the end is so hot! the crescendo to the finale’ blew me away! She really made me feel what she was feeling for that man. It is so rare that you find a song with a deep message and true vocal prowess and feeling now a days. She is a dynamic artist. Great choice Angel!

I totally agree. It sounds like “Bohemian Rhapsody” meets “Benny & the Jets” with a sprinkling of some random, old school Broadway tune. Her voice is slightly akin to Chrisette’s, though. Never heard of this gal before today but I love this song. I’ve had it on repeat for awhile now. Gotta hear more of her stuff.

Watch out Alica Keys….yeah right never not in this lifetime wasn’t in my right mind…However her voice and music seem comparable but never will she be A.Keys…she is the epitome of everything…But this Alice Smith chick is very gorgeous as well and her voice is very soothing also. Music is comparable too but nope not A.Keys and not saying she is trying to be but she is very comparable to her. I have loved Alice Smith since 2006! Thanks Concreteloop for putting the spotlight on uber talented yet not mainstream artists, because as much as people complain about music today there’s so much GREATNESS out there. But sadly, most of it is NOT on the radio or TV.

Alice Smith has LEGENDARY potential with that voice!

I LOVE LOVE Alice Smith, I got her CD a few months back after stumbling upon it on Amazon, love her style. Perosnally I liked the songs “Gary Song”, “Woodstock” and “Fake Is The New Real”. This is the kind of talent that should be more recognized, people like Joy Denalane, Emily King, Kevin Michael, Ledisi and Chrisette Michele have massive talent but not much support. Like many people said, “Do I” is definitely one of my favorite joints off the album. “Fake is the new Real” as well, because it doesn’t get any truer than that.

I’ve been talking about this cd so much that someone asked me if I was on Alice Smith’s promotions team. LOL. But honestly, I’m an advocate for the things that I enjoy. I LOVE this music. “Do I” is my JAM. I’m telling all my friends who like good music to check out her myspace page. Yes it’s different, but the “normal” stuff is the reason I don’t listen the radio right now.
I understand why people want to say she sounds like someone because it gives you a frame of reference. I tell people, think Macy Gray, Nora Jones and now that I think about it Joi meets someone you’ve never heard before.
I like Beyonce, Alicia, but I’ve got my Chrisette Michele, Feist and Corrine Bailey Ray. Good music is good music. Period.

alice smith is the star on the rise. her live performances are out of this world. my fav songs are “know that I..” “fake is the new real” and Love endeavor. if u all havent heard of her u have to get the album. she different she not ur ordinary singer. there’s no one category for her. she has a mix of blues/rock/soul/pop she does her own thing. that’s what i love about her. i havent been to any of her concert yet this year but i def going to try and see her this fall. she touring with citizen cope. in case yall didnt know she engaged to citizen cope a.k.a clarence greenwood. he a cute white guy. there a song that she performs with him called “107 degrees” OMG! her solo in that song is amazing. if u want to see it, the link is below. i recommend that u all watch her live performances on youtube. u will be amazed. her music is addictive.
