Meet J*Davey. The Los Angeles based duo has been doing it for a long time, making their mark as underground superstars, featured in several publications. For years, they have generated a huge buzz. I have always been a fan of theirs, so I decided to feature them with the new track “Slooow.” I love J*Davey because they transcend genres and their music is what I like to call “raceless music.” Everyone can relate to their sound, their melodies and their lyrics.
J*Davey definitely needs to be on your radar in ’08. Make sure you check them out and show some love!

That was different. I don’t know how I feel about that one. Her voice is kinda weird, but not in a bad way really. Sounds like it was mad ein the 80′s but I guess that sound is coming back anyway. I could see Erykah Badu on this track too.

J*Davey is the shit. They were featured on The Roots criminally underrated Game Theory and on 4hero’s Play With The Changes (super dope ish by the way). They are doing something against the grain and I support that to the fullest.

She sounds like an electronic voice of “Left Eye” mixed with Eryka Badu… I’m not really feeling this track though. I’m more focused on her voice than the subject of her song! Once she starts the verse, I’m already in another zone! lol

They are AMAZING live.
The energy, the ability to capture the crowd, the one on one feeling you get, they are dope.
But explore their stuff a bit more.
They aren’t a one-serving type of group.
It takes open ears and minds to get with them and enjoy.
Hope you can re-train your ears to listen for unique artistry.

okay I’m a J*DaVey stan!!! thank you Brian for posting them. I do realize to many that J*DaVey is old to the underground heads but they are not popular enough for everyone to know who they are. For the person that said that her voice sounds too studio-like. Well the music that you are listening to is soultronic/alternative new wave. Her voice is going to sounds strange or altered. I love it! She has a lazy sound to it. Yes she is not a vocalist she is an expressionist.
