ARTIST SPOTLIGHT UPDATE: JAIDEN

Jaiden – Paradise

I’m sure some of you remember our Artist Spotlight feature on Jaiden from last year. Well this NYC based singer has been on his grind since the last time we spoke on him. He recently got off a run singing back-up for Jay Z’s American Gangster tour and just sent his newest track to Concrete Loop. Dubbing himself “The Cure,” Jaiden definitely has what it takes to bring the R&B game back to the top. “Paradise” was produced by horn player, KeyKat.

For more info on Jaiden make sure to check out our first feature on him, not to mention his myspace page.

CL, love the post today. Jaiden is awesome. Fresh sound. Fresh face. SOLID, uplifting message…. rather then the JUNK we all (as black folks) run out and buy… Maybe it would be a good idea to support something other then women shaking their cakes and dudes flashing their gold teeth… Support something with substance… JAIDEN ROCKS!

  17. Ladyssolady

Like his voice and the horns in the song, but not feeling the song as a whole.

  18. archera

I love it!!! Everything from the horns in the background to his smooth voice. Sounds like rain. I wish him the best. The music game is tough but it is in dire need of some fresh TALENT. This dude has it for sure. Where and when can I cop his cd? I especially want this song!

The lyrics & subject matter actually make sense & have a nice flow to them & nothing disrespectful or derogatory in the joint. I will be watching for him. You just don’t see cats out there like him these days getting the appreciation they deserve. THIS is music I can get behind & support. Excited am I lol!!!

  22. MishelmyBelle

JAIDEN!!!! (this dude is the business). I was just browsing concrete loop and who do I see…Congrats J!!! You’re the real deal and you know your Southern Cali peeps are holdin’ u down! — Cam

  23. Princess Amelie

He’s talented mos def! Reminds me of a more contemporary Kenny Lattimore vocally.

  24. PRISTINE

I’m sure Jaiden does have what it takes to bring R-n-B back to the quote on quote ‘top’, but let’s not forget about other underground- or rather under rated artist who have the potential to do the same (i.e. Raheem Devaughn). His new LP- Love Behind The Melody is sicccckkkk. Still, it’s clear to see that a definite turn around is coming to R-n-B, whether it be through Jaiden, or through my fav- Mr. Devaughn.

  25. SOUNDZ LIKE MONEY

Handsome guy, great voice, refreshing sound (for mainstream). Not anything out of the ordinary, I wish him luck though he is definitely talented but doesn’t really stand out from other “neo” soul or Soul Artist on myspace or on the underground circut. He should focus more on Radio friendly love songs, that what we need a “Cure” for these days I think we have enough R&B artist trying to speak for the streets and go for street cred hasn’t history prove that this doesn’t sell (Govenor on Grand Hustle/Shareffa on DTP). There is nothing wrong with a tradition R&B song. Example I Wish by Carl Tomas, I would love to hear a sound such as this on Jaiden.Artist like Alicia Keys, john Legend keep a street image but leave the ghetto lyrics out of their Radio singles for a more broad appeal for old school/ new school alike. There is no need for the obligatory street refrences, along you went on tour with Jay Z his audience isn’t going to be the one buying you records (Ask Jaguar Wright) try to appeal to the females on your first single for get the guys, I mean if you get the male audeience great but females are the ones buying and supporting Male R&B artist not male hip hop fans….Just my opinion and advice. …for more hit me up soundzlikemoney@gmail.com

  26. This song is nice.
**goes to check out Jaiden’s Myspace**

  32. OBAMA4PRES

I bought Raheem’s CD I think the Love Exp is the best… I’m not feeling the second one..

  33. SONGBOY

SOUNDLIKEMONEY…..I’m not really sure what makes you think the song is trying to gain street cred….i think it’s a page out of a lot of our lives. I think it’s crucial to be honest to a total life experience….LOVE is part of that ofcourse…please believe there are more than enough incredible love songs by the dude!! check into him further….and don’t be so quick to put a person in a box off of one song….

  34. Liberated Spirit
