♫ Hollyweerd – Have You Ever Made Love to a Weerdo?
The newest splash on to the MySpace hipster scene is Hollyweerd with their funk-jazz-soul-hip-hop fusion hit, “Weerdo.” Pictured from left to right, The Love Crusader, Tuki, The Dreamer and Staggo Lee, make up the fearsome foursome that music columnist and critics have called “Beatles-esque.” Regardless of whether or not you agree, you can’t deny the feel-goodness of “Weerdo,” with its pulsing baseline and warm saxophone interlude.
Performing to sold-out crowds and not even being able to keep promo CD’s in their position anymore, Hollyweerd is most definitely a band that you need to be on the look-out for in ’08. The roles have switched. You used to laugh because they were different – now they’re laughing, ’cause you’re all the same.
Make sure you check out Hollyweerd on MySpace and let them know CL sent you! Also, be on the look out for more music and updates about their project.
Hmmm I dunno about this one.
WHAT THA…
I’m loving this!!! Thanks for puttin me on Brian!!!
Why does Brian only promote Atlanta artists? Spread out a bit more man. I’m sticking to Angel’s artist spotlight’s atleast she is switches it up.
These fools sound like a broke-down Outkast.
I can dig it.
TomorrowneverKnows:
These fools sound like a broke-down Outkast.

They do remind me a lot of Outkast lol…
i like it… very diffrent..
#4, I’m from atlanta – so when I see artist that I like perform, I post about them because I have seen them live and know what they can do.
don’t worry though! we will be posting about other artists soon, because we’re in the process of setting something up. it should be interesting.
I like it. And yes they do make me a little reminiscent of Stankonia, but its better than Soulja Boy and that blasted T-Pain mess.
Its hard trying to be an individual and market to the urban audience. But I support these “WEERDO”S”
yea i def hear some outkast influence….but um…i can appreciate their attempt at doing something different.
I likey, I likey alot. Step yo game up youngin’s! (Soulja Dud) Different and ecclectic!
Doesnt the dude in the Maroon vest look like Professor Ogalvy from the parkers….LMAO….seriously look at him then look at the Parkers….
By the way they sound dumb as shit…..everyone trying to make money…..
Tuki is one of my good friends…he and my BFF Miya Bailey are the famous City of Ink tattoo artists.
Without sounding too biased….I kinda dig it…..hope they go far…so proud!
HMMMMM….I likes…I likes a lot!!!!
OMG I LOVE their name!!! lol
Whaaat love it.
Love the song and they are some cuties! They remind me of Outkast though.
i like it….
DEAD @ these fools saying “hunch” LOL
Heard the first 10 seconds and instantly loved it! Reminds me of the Andre 3000 sound which I love!
hmm i will think about it a little more
Lol at Professor Ogilvie!
I like the sound..Very Stankonia/Love Below-ish..I like them though.. I do agree with #9 Still Tragic..It’s hard to promote not-so-mainstream kind of music to an urban audience..Hopefully they will go far, tho.

I SAY HE LOOKS LIKE SHAWN WAYANS
LOL
THEY’RE HOT! I WANT THIS SONG!
I like the beat…A LOT!! You’re right you can’t deny the bassline and the saxophone. The groups sound does have an Outkast feel to it! I love CONCRETE LOOP’s Artist Spotlight!
BY THE WAY I DO LUV THE SONG
IT IS VERY LOVE BELOW/ANDRE 3000
i actually liked the song… the intro reminded me of Andre 3000 .. The sax was HOT, i might add. I love me some JAZZ!! I can see myself listening to more of their music for sure…
Not bad. I kinda like it and I’m really feeling the saxophone solo at the end.
Not bad. I like the use of a solo sax. I admire musicians who use live instruments on their music.

yay glad to see some people I know up there.
I seen them perform recently & they were good.
It was alright but the first guy sounded like an Andre 3000 wannabe to me.
its okay…but ima stick to my outkast they rappin slower than Wayne and Wayne is the slowest i can take. that’s why I cant handle houston rappers lol…too dang slow. And the dude in the first verse remind me of T-Pain too much.
THANK YOU BRIAN for this one. Been following these guys for a lil minute. Their sound is innovative and they dont really sound like outkast. They maybe reminiscient of them but not the same exact sound. But who isnt in the industry. KOOL KEITH- KANYE WEST/ BEYONCE-DIANA ROSS/ AMY WINEHOUSE-JANIS JOPLIN/ T PAIN-TEDDY RILEY/ CHRIS BROWN- MICHAEL JACKSON/ I COULD GO ON FOR DAYS. everybody is a copy cat. MACY GRAY-NINA SIMONE
STAGOLEE keep doin ya thang. Im ya fan. THROW YA J’s UP.
Ummm okkay, i can dig it, kinda.
I like….I like!
*nodding*
Lord, I pray you find Jewel SAFE!
This sounds a lot like Organized Noise. It’s sounds like something Sleepy would make. I’d have to hear more than this to be sold, because this sounds a bit gimmicky.
I have to say, I am feeling this track…Brain you are correct once you see a performance it gives you a totally different out look about the song.
This single does not require no performance for me to see the direction these young men are headed, however I would like to see the performance because I like good music.
Support these raising star while the other fall…this goup has the potential to stay in the sky

UP and COMING artist Zerk( I’am THAT Dude) Super Shug (Paint DA Picture) DoMo(DC Streets)
Oooo i love this!
To me listening to the first few minutes sounded Outkast-y, but i’m sure they have other songs with more of their own flava.
The second guy, Tuki looks like a cross betweem Malcolm X and Q-Tip.
uummm…I wouldn’t buy it, but its cool. but dudes are definitely biting Andre 3000 style, and not even Andre 3000 curent style like Outkast Atliens album.I mean i get that they are trying to be creative, but usually that means coming with somethin original and innovative and just becuz you switch up a few words with spaceship (whip) and wierdo (playa or thug) and talk/sing in a lazy flow and add a few space age soundz dosen’t mean this is different or creative. And what is up with the picture of these dude, they like some old washed up dudes who didn’t make it years previous and decide to group up. i am sure they would probably be good LIVE group like this usually are. the song just o…k
Sounds like Outkast but bout time Brian a song that is actually good. He always says “I can definetely appreciate….” UGH…enough–not EVERYONE is good!
But I look forward to these guys doing something, I could stand another Outkast…+2.
This song is dope and dare I say refreshing seeing as what being pawned off as HOT these days… Shouts to Dreemer and Tuki
1HUNIT
the song sounds dope but do they have anything else withe a more up tempo….
This shit is HOTNESS! Since they’re from ATL, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re connected to Outkast, but they’re dope in their own right. Breath of fresh air if you ask me, and there’s DEFINITELY room for new energy in the biz right now. Hollyweerd needs to head straight to Los Angeles ASAP! I’ll be at the show with the rest of the artistic, fashion savvy, creative peeps when you come!
Appreciate goood muziK!!!!
Keep doin’ a thang!
The title of that song is hilarious!
what record label are they on?
that will determind how successful they will be with this project
“You used to laugh because they were different – now they’re laughing, ’cause you’re all the same.”
i like that tag line. very creative and true…lol
One of my friends has this song on their Myspace page…I was like what is this???!!! I like it though…very different and the title of the song is very eyecatching!!! Sounds like early Pharrell and Outkast…
Just sent them a friend request…keep the unique, creative stuff coming Brian!!!
Yeah to you the Love Crusader (Chris) !!! I still want my painting (smile)!
hahaha i Like them love the jazz persuasion
thanks for the insight
they’re different but i really like their style
It’s different and I’m glad that it is but I just wanna hear the real Outkast.
I’m sorry but I can’t deal w/ this type of music. It’s too…I dunno…there’s something extra weird…and not in a good way!
Altho, I do like that so many artists are trying to different, trying to break the stereotypical mold of what music is ‘suppose’ to represent. But this is just…wow…I’m like speechless!
check out my creative comrades doin’ the dayum thang!
HOLLYWEERD • CITY OF INK • PROPHET FAMILY
all day er’day bay-bay!
PURE GENIUS ..ITS ABOUT TIME SOME GREAT MUSIC COMES OUTTA THA SOUTH..THESE GUYS ARE GOIN FAAAAAAAAR REAL FAR….FORGET THE HATERS GUYS KEEP DOIN U
I’m loving the song…been a fan for a while
YAY!!!! This song is the shit!! I am happy that these guys are getting their shine on!! Everyone that is from atlanta and a little weird does not have to be compared to Andre’. There is alot of leftist musical talent in the “A”, but this song is definitely one of my favorites:)
