This is the first time I’ve seen Halle and her man together since she announced she is pregnant. The look good though, can’t wait to see what the baby will look like.

@GEM calling your child some made-up and/or strange name for the sake of being different from the white man (and being “free-spirited”) is just as bad as calling your child a “white” name because you feel obligated to. are whites really that important to us that we have to avoid calling our children “their” names so that we can be seen as “free-spirited”? and the person who commented wasn’t talking about names like shayla and memory. there’s nothing wrong with those names, but they are very different from names like Blonzell or Jacqueisha, names that are more commonly found in the ghetto and i’m sorry but when did ghetto names become “free spirited”. same with white trailer trash names like Cinnamon. not everyone wants to call their children names that are associated with white trash or the ghetto (no offense to anyone).

The cast of “Raisin” looks great — even Terrence with his manpurse (thank god we can’t see the conk under the hat). Anika is soooo beautiful. Halle is gorgeous as always and that pregnancy has her glowing. Iman is too damn fierce at 50+. Naomi and Eve — no comment.

nah…you misunderstood me…everything is somehow garbled…
My point was this: If you purposely avoid a name because it might be perceived as ethnic, while choosing one that is more conservative or “traditional” THEN your interest in the more conservative one amounts to naming your child after some white man’s Big Daddy. But (as I said) if you like the name, even the conservative name…well it’s a nonissue….whatever you name your child, Zoe or Bumquisha…if you SINCERELY want to call your child that then so be it… So, that’s settled, I hope…
But because I never can digress:
As for the free-spirited thing…I didn’t intend that to apply to us at all…maybe you were confused because I was sardonic, using “less ethnic” as euphemism for “white’ lol I was just being funny… Anyway, the only point in my mentioning that they are free-spirited is that some use nontraditional names, they enjoy inventing individual and personally meaningful ones…which means, untimately: a white person eschews her own Grandpa’s name for a more individual and creative one, while we adopt it whole-heartedly as some sort of social good.

#47 - i don’t even know where to start with you! how/why are you asking the Lord to send folks to beauty salon because they have a “nice grade” of hair? just ignant. i’m black and have TWO aunts named Zoe. you asked the question how could black people name a kid Zoe like they named her “Moonbeam” or something. the name Zoe’s not that weird. plus, her parents are both HALF white and very boho-hippie-eclectic on top of that, so the name Zoe is pretty normal considering what they could’ve come with. and last but not least, notice that word i used in that last sentence: could’ve - short for could have. not “could of”.

Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen look so good. They are aging very gracefully. Anika Noni Rose is gorgeous. Of course Terrance Howard is looking good. He pulls off so many looks. Who ever that is with Naomi needs a meal ASAP! That is not attractive. Halle is wearing pregnancy well, she looks so natural.

That cast for the remake looks awesome…I love an all black cast…and they are all very talented and many times underrated actors and actresses..Iman looks wonderful and Halle looks great.

Zoe looks cute. Her boyfriend doesn’t care he still loves her. Some people get their hair done every week and still can’t get a man let alone one that loves them on a bad hair day. That why she has the hat on. Don’t look much different from these chickenhead styles people go to the salon to get. Everybody isn’t so vain, that’s what I like about her and her family, they are being themselves no matter how plain and screw what other people think. They are happy and not hurting anybody, who cares.
