But, I must say this, I feel that the Emmy’s, Golden Globes and Sag’s are really sleeping on Tichinia Arnold. She is a brilliant comedic actress, she was hilarious on Martin as well as Everybody Hates Chis. She is just as funny if not more than Tina Fey, Mary Louise Parker and especially Christinia Applegate whose show really isnt funny at all. There were so many performances from people of color that was overlooked this year as well as years before, and it pisses me off. Martin was another show that was over-looked so many time s at the Emmy’s Sags, Golden Globes. Does The Wire ever get nominated for anything? The Soprano’s isnt the only show on HBO you know–sheesh!

Anyways–congrats again to Miss Ruby Dee. Well deserved.

I watched the show & it was actually a gem to watch. Everybody looked AMAZING, I didn’t see any reason fo the fashion police to be called at all lol. Actually I was in tears when Mickey Rooney came up at age 87 WITH NO CANE, NO WALKER, NO NOTHING & the audience came him a standing ovation & he started CRYING & I just starting bawling. It was also sad when “There Will Be Blood’s” (YES, I did see it & YES, I loved it!) Phenomenal actor Daniel Day-Lewis dedicated his stellar performances to the late Great Heath Ledger, there was hardly a dry eye in the house after that. I love the SAG awards because its from actors to actors & to me that makes is so much more real. I have seen all the movies for best cast & found something I loved about everyone & sometimes with the Oscars its difficult to say that.

@Back DDS, Luda has a SAG card from his Crash days so he should be invited especially since his last two films did awesome at the box office (well in terms of films that are made my more independent studios anyway)

Yes, Queen Latifah DID indeed win for Life Support. If you have not seen it I believe it is on DVD I suggest you pick it up because she acted her a$$ off!!! But I was PISSED because she was NOT even there!!!! WTF how you going to be nominated for an award at a major awards show & NOT even be there??? I don’t care if I am shooting a film or not an Actor or SAG award is a BIG DEAL so they would need to let me take 2 days off my shooting schedule so I could be present, JUST IN CASE. She won & for some reason they expected her to be there because everyone was looking around all STUNNED when they realised she wasn’t lol!!

I watched the Sag awards last night and enjoyed it. I was so happy when Ruby Dee won because I just knew that Cate Blanchett was going to win for “I’m not there”. I thought Ruby looked great and her speech was so eloquent. I felt so bad for Queen Latifah not being there to accept her award also. Since she couldn’t accept her Golden Globe due to the strike.

Responding to an earlier mention about THE WIRE, it’s undoubtedly one of best shows ever. Always the brilliant “wallflower” show that although it has a small, but fiercely loyal following amongst critics and viewers, it’s continuously ignored by Emmy and SAG awards. Much like The Simpsons, and Rosanne in the 90’s, the show turns off voters because of it hits too close to home; The Simpsons for subversive humor, Rosanne for it’s unapologetic and realistic portraying the white blue collar family and The Wire for just seeming to be too damn REAL period!

Still in all, I’m gonna miss it when it’s gone, and it DAMN sure should have taken best ensemble drama cast from The Sopranos HANDS DOWN!! Every lead and supporting player is dead on, and compels a story arc of their own, from Omar to Stringer to Avon to Bunk to Greggs to Herc to Prez to Bubbles to Bodie to Snoop to Marlo to McNulty to Prop Joe………

But then again, I like the fact that there only are a few of us who watch it faithfully and can discuss it at length. Once a show gets too popular, it loses it’s appeal, in a way.

I started watching the SAG awards last night and after once again James Gandolfini won for the Sopranos I thought about how the Wire is AGAIN overlooked and I TURNED the show off !! I am always in disbelief at how award shows such as SAG and the Emmys can overlook a PHENOMENAL show such as the Wire. Also Tichina is THAT chick! She is a wonderful actress and looks beuatiful here! She is definitely on the come up. She has what looks to be a great role in “The Lena Baker Story” .

I think everyone here looks great! America simply radiates in that dress!! Vanessa is timeless, Ruby Dee is beautiful and a legend! The Whitakers seem like a strong couple–Taraji-huh girlfriend, What costume shop did you dig that dres up from?

Calm down, #38….these people could give two snaps and three twists to what you think about them! And, to be fair to Brad, Jennifer lied to him, and the nation, on a nationally televised program (Dateline, Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters—-I can’t remember which one) when she said that she wanted to have children, and really didn’t. Three or four years passed after that interview, and no kids. Jennifer knew that Brad wanted some rugrats—-she should have been honest with him from the jump. Don’t try and make Jen out to be some saint in all this—–she lied first!
