I’m usually not one to be a mind snob (okay, maybe I am now and again) but some of you need to seriously move beyond “sexy,” you need to stop thinking because someone looks good in something or because it’s shiny or costly, it’s hot. Having someone look at you and think YOU are hot is NOT NECESSARILY THE SAME as someone’s looking at you and thinking WHAT YOU’RE WEARING is hot. And, I don’t think enough of you women make that distinction. You aim for “sexy” even at the expense of more individual, expressive dress. Erykah’s outfit isn’t even as far out as she usually goes…the jacket, black jeans, knit top, platforms, braided bracelet…alll pervasive stuff this season…so I’d hate to read some of the comments on her REALLY WILD STUFF.
I just wish more of us were inner-directed…you can attack me for that statement, but nothing I’ve read on this site about fashion dispels anything I’ve said.
I am a Badu fan, but sometimes…..just sometimes…sister girl takes her eccentric style just a little too far…what is that on her head???

The hair seems to be fake (wig) but big ups to her for rocking natural hair and not being ashamed for doing do. My hair is natural and everytime I go to the salon to get my hair washed and conditioned – I hear so much snickers around me from the stylists to the customers- People Accept yourselves and the natural hair that you were born with!

Mama’s Gun was a really exceptional album. Rarely do I find an album that I can listen to every track and say I love all the songs. She nailed it for me. I can’t wait to hear her new album. Erycha’s style has always been different, and I respect her for being her. It looks cool to me.
