You may remember never seeing any of Janet’s videos on MTV during the promotion of her last album, 20 Y.O., but apparently, MTV has added the video for her new single, “Feedback” to it’s video playlist.
The video for “Feedback,” premiered last week on BET’s 106 & Park and Yahoo! Music, and will debut on TRL on Monday, according to TRL’s schedule. Interestingly enough, Janet’s second single, “So Excited” was added to the list of videos for play on MTV, but only saw air time on MTV2 and MTVJams.
Back in 2004, Janet and Justin Timberlake teamed with the NFL, CBS, and MTV for the halftime performance of the Super Bowl XXXVIII. During the performance, there was a wardrobe malfunction and Janet was brutally ridiculed for the display. Coincidentally, this was just days before Janet’s lead single from 2004′s Damita Jo, “Just A Little While” was rushed and leaked. The whole thing was a big mess and from then on, Janet’s relationship with MTV has never been the same.
Hopefully, with the debut of “Feedback” on TRL and the release of the new album, Discipline, due out February 26th, Janet and MTV can rebuild their burned bridge.

MTV smells a hit and you know with the VMAs having horrible ratings since 2000 they want to invite her to the show to perform and give it a boost. No matter what people think of Janet’s vocal ability they will still watch the girl move! LOL Does MTV even show videos anymore? lol

Janet has an amazing ability to transform…..While her performance in ‘Why did I get Married?’ was superb, for much of the movie, she kinda looked a lil to’e up. Or was it just me? However, here on this cover, and many other covers we’ve seen…she got it going on! I know about photoshop and all that, but she’s looking GOOD on here!

I am positive “So Excited” appeared on MTV. Many do not know that because MTV does not show videos when most people are awake.
Looks like MTV’s jumping on the bandwagon, but she don’t really need them because when it get’s to radio it gonna be on heavy rotation and if anyone wants to see the video they can watch it on the internet, nearly everybody has internet access nowadays.

The MTV ratings are slumping, so NOW they want Janet back lmao. Expect the ratings, especially for the VMAs which has been a mess for the last decade, to go way up. You’re a fool. Did you even read the BILLBOARD article, or follow how mediabase works? The single is doing VERY well, especially considering it just came out a few days ago. Its already in the top 40 (and top 25 in itunes) I wouldn’t be surprised if it reaches at least the top 10.

I agree with # 33. I didn’t realize that MTV never aired her video in question after the Superbowl incident either. I also agree that delirious, deranged, and demented Britney Spears still got airtime after flashing her bald pussycat on several occasions also. She was also the opening act on the MTV Video Music Awards as we all know.
I was a HUGE Janet fan in the 80′s, 90′s, and early 00′s. But frankly I think that Janet is too old for the type of genre music that she sings today. She is also too old for the overly choreographed cheerleading style dance moves that she still tries to do. I mean how much popping and locking and ticking and flicking is she gonna do…is she still gonna be doing this at 50…cuz she will soon be pushing 50!
Also she IS a bonafide SUPERSTAR…but let’s be honest…Janet cannot sing. Her voice is so weak, that on several of her songs, I haven’t a clue what she is saying. When Janet was in her teens and early 20′s singing Let’s Wait a While, Control, The Song with Blackstreet, Pleasure Principle, Twenty Foreplay, The Song with Busta Rhymes etc…SHE WAS THA BOMB!!!
I really think Janet has lost her creativity. So true MTV is probably being biased by not airing her videos, but until she puts out some quality content and belts out a huge ballad, I am no longer interested myself. I think she should stick to acting, because she is very good at that.

Janet was an innovator back in the day, but IMO, this new song is weak,and the video is wack. I really don’t see the need to say if Madonna is doing it then Janet can too. Madonna ALWAYS sells out her concerts and she is still a multiplatinum selling artist. I have no idea why, but she is. Janet is no where near Madonna in sales of CD’s or concerts, and trying to compare the two is like comparing apples and oranges. Yes Ciara and the other newer “artists” copy her dance moves and such, but why does she need to keep trying to validate that she was the trendsetter for them.
