According to Billboard.com, the dynamic duo Gnarls Barkley’s sophomore album is near completion. Even though there is no release date, title or additional information about the upcoming release, Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green have revealed that the process is nearly complete.
“I’m hoping that I don’t fall out of grace with whatever I’ve done to deserve this to pass through me,” Cee-Lo told Billboard last summer. “So I become concerned with it in that right. It’s not something I want to get in every publication and explain. Music is a natural mystic,” he continued. “This is not something that we contrived. It’s truly something that we just can’t explain, you know what I mean? So why try to explain it at all? It just is.”
I am so excited about this project. St. Elsewhere was an album that was constantly blasted around these parts, so I am very eager to see what these two came up with this time around.
Last summer, Billboard was given an exclusive listen to one track that has been confirmed for the album. Billboard tagged the cut a “psychedelic soul tune,” where Cee-Lo howls the lyrics, “Who’s gonna save my soul now?” Honestly, I can’t wait.
KEYSHIA COLE PREPARES NEW ALBUM

Keyshia Cole, who got a great deal of promotion being the featured artist on MTV last week, revealed in a recent interview with SOHH, that she is already getting prepared and conceptualizing for her third solo album.
“I’m writing down ideas now, just what I feel like the album should be about. This is the first time I’ve actually done that so that should be fun. They want it out by Christmas.”
Just Like You was a pretty solid effort, and I think it solidified Keyshia as an artist with staying power. I was actually a huge fan of her debut album, The Way It Is so I was very pleased to see that she was well received this time around, even though I wasn’t as big a fan of Just Like You. I see she’s trying to keep her fans pleased and keep up with the momentum of her success. Get it, Keysh!
ASHANTI PUSHED BACK AGAIN
Although a single cover has leaked with a stunning photo of Ashanti, her awaited fourth solo album, The Declaration has been pushed back once again.
With the release of a couple of buzz singles (“Switch,” featuring boyfriend Nelly and the close cousin of Diddy & Keyshia Cole’s “Last Night,” “Hey Baby [After the Club]“) in ’07, a previous release date for late last year, as well as in March, it seems as though Ashanti fans will have to wait for June 3rd for the singer’s set to drop.
This may be a smart move for the Universal/Motown, who has been a little shotty as far as their reputation with releasing albums within the last year (remember Mya?). With Janet dropping at the end of February, she is anticipated to rule the charts for that month of March, and Mariah dropping close behind her, I can see why the label would chose to move Ashanti a little further back.
Her new single, “The Way That I Love You,” will impact radio soon. With the great response that it’s gotten from avid blog readers, people are interested to see what Ashanti will do this time around.
