NEW MUSIC FROM GNARLS BARKLEY

♫ Gnarls Barkley – Run

Even though Gnarls Barkley only confirmed that they are almost complete with their sophomore album, now titled Odd Couple, new material has already leaked. It has that same funky, soulful feel that can be found on their first album, St. Elsewhere. “Run,” apparently the first single, is fun, funky but a tad bit more organic, with more live instruments. I have always loved Cee-Lo’s voice – even in his Goodie Mob days. He takes a lot of risks vocally and I complete respect that.

I am so excited to see what else Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo have up their sleeves. Can I get a soul clap?

Make sure you check out the dynamic duo’s MySpace page. And be sure to check back on CL for more information on their upcoming release, Odd Couple.

    Ummmm…it’s okay I think.
Has a slight old school, seventy-ish, Brady Bunch / Partridge Family sound…

They are such cool people…my friend met Cee-Lo, got to show him around the city…said he’s really cool…I wish I could have met him…I know he’s cool, though, cause there’s no way an a-hole can stay in a group…look what happened to LSG, Lucy Pearl, The Firm…
I just think they’re artistic and for real…And, ohhh I love the song, of course…sounds like Curtis Mayfield on speed.

Cee-Loo + Danger Mouse = THE MUTHA TRUCKIN TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. blackisbeautiful

I love this song it’s been on repeat all this week!!! Cee-Lo is a talented artist for real vocally and lyrically. This man can sing any song and it would be hot no matter what genre it is lol..the lyrics to this song is very positive. Also my boy Dangermouse (the light skin guy) is one of the most eccentric and experimental producers to date. If you didn’t know he had remixed Jay-z’s “The Black Album” and name it “The Gray Album” remember all the hype back in 04′ of mashing Jay-z and The Beatles records? Yep that was him!. Cee-Lo and Danger are the dynamic duo for real! “St. Elsewhere” is one of the most creative and innovative albums of the millenium era. I know that’sa broad statement but if you get passed there eccentric sound and listen to Cee-lo lyrics, you would like them more and accept it because I know I did lol

  28. GreatestLoveOfAll

sounds like anythin off St Elsewhere!

  29. Yourockmyworld

Pure, unadulterated hotness. I’m loving the drums.

  30. Taji

I love it !!!!!! It’s eclectic, it’s different and simply superb. Cee-Lo as a solo artist is dynamic, but combining his talent with the prolific Danger Mouse is icing on the cake.

I happen to love that song…

  32. punnkfresh

THIS IS AMAZING. PURE FUCKING GENIUS.
It makes me think of The Wiz, with the bird noises, the children, the “you can’t win” line. Like it could be a track on an anniversary cd maybe.

  33. Tizzy-T Whistlequeen

    Lovin’ it!

  34. "gangsta, gangsta" that's what we yellin!

I like it always different. You guys also have to remember what they are doing, they are catering to foriegn markets first…. Crazy blew up in Europe way before the US. But it’ll catch over here too just like “Hey Ya” did.

  39. Say

He need to sit his ass down!

  40. Sherance

yeah ceelo went psychedelic on here truly from ther school of p funk and the doors reminsds me of the beatles and rotary connection.

  41. Gem

I just wanted to add…I really love that so many of us appreciate groups like this… This is truly inner-directed artistic music…and I hate that so many people in the mainstream don’t get that art is profound expression for us too… I hate that they patronize us, seek favor in rewarding the most pseudointellectual and contrived acts…
