NEW MUSIC FROM JAY-Z

♫ Jay-Z – Ain’t I

An exclusive from DJ Clue, Jay-Z releases a new song, produced by none other than Timbaland for the I Am Legend mixtape. Upon downloading the track, I was thinking Jay was just doing it for fun – something strictly for the purpose of the mixtape, but low and behold, Clue screams out, “New music from The Blueprint 3!” and that’s when I had to raise an eyebrow.

Jay-Z, also known as Sean Carter, just put out his album, American Gangster and it seems like he’s already gearing up for something new. With his name all over the media with label disputes, regarding Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella, I think Jay-Z is just taking the route of shaking it all off, and going back to record. The Blueprints 1 and 2 are great albums. Hopefully #3 lives up!

Make sure you check out DJ Clue’s MySpace for more music and info on the I Am Legend mixtape! Also, stay tuned on CL to find out more about this Jay-Z project!

whateva man…i’m ready for him to hang up “Jay-Z” and just be Shawn C. Carter. Its not the same, he’s a different person, and its time to REALLY work at building Roc-A-Fella Records again.

As soon as AG came out, the hype was soon gone. I respect him more as a businessman now than a rapper….sometimes its best to leave out gracefully.

    i’m just saying…that’s all i’m saying!

  3. No disrespect, but I am tired of Jay-Z and Beyonce. They’ve oversaturated the market and need to take a break. Seriously.

  4. Miss Cathy

Its cool, but doesnt stand out that much… Really sounds like he just messin with this track

  5. IAMDARKAQUA

and i’m tired of him talking about same thing OVER and OVER and OVER AGAIN!

yes, i know about nets, vacation, lacefront beywoulf, etc…I got it JAY…YOU PAID!

Until Jay-Z looses his “touch” I will always look forward to his music….

He will always come with stuff outside of this “BUBBLEGUM” rap thats out nowadays…people that really appreciate HipHop appreciate Jay-Z especially in the state of Hip hop now….

    Keep doing ya thing Jay!!!!

  8. I put J in a diff league than the rest..his work is classic and original….just like bey

See the problem isn’t the State of HIP HOP….ITS WHAT PROMOTED BY RECORD LABELS AND PLAYED ON RADIO!!

Please believe REAL HIP HOP is still ALIVE(sans okayplayer), but RECORD LABELS CONTINUE TO PUT OUT HOT GARBAGE cause that’s what SELLS RIGHT NOW!!

  10. peedi peedi just called into my local radio station talkin bout the roc-a-fella situation….

    @ IAMDARKAQUA….

very true statements…I believe that real hip hop is still alive also….Its just a shame that when I turn on the radio I can’t hear “real hip hop”..you feel me..so when all that is being promoted is this “bubblegum rap” then to people, it seems like hip hop is dead because most “rappers” are no longer coming out with hit ALBUMS just hit ringtones and catch phrases…..trying to get paid quick

I guess i just miss the back in the day hip hop..back in the 90′s…but most of those artists that are remaining “true” to hip hop get all of my respect….

  18. STLCHICK

On second listen, the beat kinda sounds like Slim Thug’s “I Aint Heard of That.” Doesn’t it?

  19. UMMMM, ITS A WRAP….I LOVE HIS FLOW….

  21. Don't retire

The sign of a great entrepreneur. Keep going! Don’t let people tell you what you can and can’t do. If he loves making music…..he shouldn’t stop. He has a established target market and that’s who buys the music.

I Lovve Timbo beats, and This Shit is FIYAH! But I hope he dont give these type of beats to Beyonce cuz it just wouldnt work.

  30. Cherry

Jay-z is a great rapper!! ..I have nothing negative to say about him even if I tried!!

  31. THE GOAT

FIRST OFF, THE PEEDI SHIT WAS WRONG – ROCAFELLAS STILL EXISTS AND BEANS AND FREE ARE ON THE ROC. THOSE REST OF THOSE NIGGAS ARE HISTORY WITHOUT JAY – NO LABLE IS PICKING THEM UP WHEN THEY NEVER SOLD ANY WAY.

THIS TIMBO TRACK IS THE OLD JAY “DIRT OFF YOUR SHOULDER”.

HOT TO DEATH – JAY STAYS ON TOP OF THESE WHACK ASS LYRACISTS BY SPITTIN’ THE HOT SHIT LIKE THIS.

THIS AIN’T EVEN HIS BEST AND HE STILL THE BEST – “AIN’T HE?” – YESSIR!!!

  32. JAYZ GO BACK TO BEING RETIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. ANGEL_MINDED

Umm…can someone explain to what real, ‘Hip-Hop,’ is?

Is Hip-Hop music about selling drugs, bragging about how much $$ you got, how many women you banged. Or is it about discussing topics that affect minorities everyday? I have a hard time trying figure out what people mean, in terms of, what’s real/constitutes hip-hop.

  34. Keep It Comin'

Jay keepin these young boys on their toes! I don’t think this song is complete – it’s a snippet that DJ Clue played and he mostly played the chorus. No rapper can touch Jay lyrically that’s why he can still do it. There are a lot of similar rappers and they definitely try and bite the flow, but no one delivers like Jay. Stop hatin’ and keep appreciatin’ that he’s been giving you hotness for over 10 years. No other rapper can say that they did it consistely like him.

    Jay is whassup.

  35. Knuck

don’t like it.. and do he still think he God? talkn bout “They hate me, they atheists..” I guess

  36. @ #36. I agree with u BUT there needs to be a diverse content for rappers because our culture is very diverse. We hve people who are from the hood, suburbs, middle class n high class that listen to hip hop. So that’s y there are artist like Common n Talib Qualee, and Rappers like Yong Jezzy ,Lil Wayne n Boosie who talk about real hood ish and personally I love it! I love the diversity in music. The problem is that the RECORD COMPANIES don’t really promote there artist as much as they do the street atrist music. So until then we will keep hearing about how much $, drugs n women they can sleep with. @37. “NO RAPPER CAN TOUCH JAY Z LYRICALLY” LMAO! PLEEEAAASE, LIL WAYNE has been doing that for years now the guy is a genious. as I said earlier JAYZ NEEDS TO GO BACK IN TO RETIREMENT!
END OF STORY! P.S. him n B needs to go into seclusion for like a year.

  37. Scorpio

^^^ That’s NOT what he said, this is what he said get it right:

God made me, ya’ll hate me
Ya’ll athiests, ya’ll safety is at risk
Its the return of the messiah, one and only Hov
No, i ain’t God, but i been made in his mold

Do you Jay, and for all you people saying he should leave the game why don’t you make it even easier for yourself and stop listening to him.

  38. Scorpio

LMAO @ 39, Wayne is a Genus huh? More like a Crackhead!

  39. Jay and his lady LOVES LOVES LOVES that spotlight…I hate to see the madness when that light no longer shines on THEM!

  40. BlogXilla - Winner of Best New Blog

Deja why you so mad at Jay-Z he’s a trend setter, he stopped rocking Jersey’s and the whole industry stopped rocking them… he was single handidly ended Fabolous’s gimmick!! YOu can’t hate on that now can you? lol

#39..u playin right? LOL at Wayne bein all that. Nigga is wack as fuck theres plenty of rappers without even namin the legends who’s better than that nigga. AND theres better rappers than Jay-Z 2. Jay-Z is a legend n all that but overrated. And Boosie and Jeezy aint for the hood them niggas mark ass niggas, Lil Boosie a fuckin 5’5 ass nigga talkin all that gangsta shit.

Better than anything Lil Wayne has done. N i got ALOT of more comin from dude. Even the nigga Lloyd banks is better than him. N i could go on and on.

I just have to say a few things, what’s crazy to me is you all complain about Jay and Beyonce but i am sure you all have purchased something from them. Not only that they are entertainers what are they supposed to do? Just stop working because a few people think it’s all about them. The crazy part is aside from Kanye and a few other people who can you name that’s doing it like either one of them? For real? Janet is okay but her production has fell off, Ciara is okay but can she really sing? Mary is old but who is complaining about Mary stopping, and just like Jay says it’s funny how Rock& Roll artist can perform well into their 60′s but rappers have to stop. Like he says, he made “Big pimpin and Give it to me and was named as a critically acclaimed rapper, he make some thought provoking ish you all question whether he fell off” i am with him. He is damned if he do and damned if he don’t , personally i hope he never stops. Nas is on his level but Nas doesnt put out like Jay, Kanye is hot, Common, TI is not even in the running no more after the nut crap he pulled, Jeezy and Rick Ross ahh Fab has always been hot but looked over, so now some one tell me who is there to listen to?

  45. SMILEY TODD

    FIYAH!! THAT WAS HOT!

PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT’S HOT RIGHT NOW IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO AND BUYING. WHETHER YOUR LIKE IT OR NOT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER CONSIDERING YOURE THE MINORITY.

JAY HAS A CLASSIC DELIVERY AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO BIG THINGS. MAYBE IF WE START CONGRATULATING, RATHER THAN KNOCK THE BRUH FOR BEING A SUCCESSFUL, STRONG BLACK MAN, WE WOULD BE MUCH BETTER AS A PEOPLE.

OTHERWISE, WE JUST SOUND LIKE THE SAME HATING ASS BLACK PEOPLE. ONE CRAB TRYING TO PULL THE AMBITIOUS CRAB BACK INTO THE DAMN BARREL.

    SMH

  46. Can i hold a dollar?

Come with it Jay! If Jay was to leave what would be left of hip hop right now? You’d have a bunch of complaining ass rappers mad because the same people saying they want something different aren’t buying their albums. And you’d be stuck with the one hit wonder Soulja Boys and all those other one hit wonders who aren’t worried about longevity but rather what song will get popping in the clubs and make them a quick buck off ringtones. Jay always brings something to the game whether you love him or hate him he brings real music.

    I’m a Hustler’s hustler
    A gangsta’s gangsta
    I’m a rapper’s rapper
    Your favorite, ain’t i?
    Ain’t i
    Ain’t i
    Ain’t i

Damn right you are Jay keep doing you.

  47. Scorpio

@43, when was the last time that you’ve seen Jay and/or his lady ANYWHERE since they “LOVE LOVE LOVE” the spotlight so much as you put it? You either like the song or you don’t it’s as easy as that lol.

    *****************************************************************************************

The last thing I bought from Jay was Black Album….nothing since

Beyonce…….Hustle man got my money for DIL and Destiny Fullfilled. I don’t pay over $5 for Beyonce juvenile hits.

A stylist did that…the same woman who brought you Diddy’s shiny suit… She’s got an eye for menswear… It was a very smart thing to do…he was basically a model, a super model, but nevertheless, a model… But I guess he deserves the credit for being a popular enough figure for her to pull it off… She will forever be remembered for changing urban wear…

As for the song…I don’t know exactly what you think is separating Jay Z from the fold…he’s saying the same stuff even if you consider him to think of smarter ways of going about it…ultimately, they all lead us to guns and dope and bit**es. I don’t know…this is the most pseudointellectual generation ever…

  50. ANGEL_MINDED

I think the reason why people want Jay to stay retired is b/c of his rhymes. When you think about it, he’s damn near 40 rapping about how much drugs he sold like 11 years ago (pathetic) and how he’s rolling in all this dough…*coughs* (pathetic)…talks about how he’s the best rapper..compares himself to God…dude is beyond…PATHETIC…lol!

Mary J is old too, but the difference is that she sings about things that people can relate to…can’t nobody relate to Jay’s rhymes except for black Hollywood. GTFOH

  54. @ #46, you sound stooooooooopid!!! Only talk $hit that you know. “Lil Boosie a fuckin 5′5 ass nigga talkin all that gangsta shit.”

You know why he talk gangsta $hit? Cause he lived it his whole life a$$ hole. Like I said, talk what you KNOW. Not what you assume. Someone’s height has nothing to do with how gangsta they are. WTF? And if you are young, I’m sorry I cussed at you. I’m thinking by what you said, you should be no more than 14 years old. So I apologize.

I wish Jay-Z would sit his big nose down somewhere.

  56. luxe life

    YAWN!!!!!!!!

    I LOVE J, BUT THAT’S LAME!

    NEXT!

  57. I LOST MY PASSWORD lol

    FOR THE RECORD…..

This song is NOT new and it’s NOT from the Blueprint 3. Jay recorded this over a year ago for Timbo’s Shock Value album, but it wasn’t done the day of the deadline, so it didn’t make the cut. This is NOT going on any album for Jay and that’s a fact.

However, the word right now is that Jay is actually doing a collabo album with Mary J on a Best of Both Worlds type tip. And if this goes down, you know to expect a classic because every song they have done has been a classic!
