Barack Obama and many of his celebrity supporters stopped by South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C., on Tuesday to speak with the students. Among the celebs were Kerry Washington, Chris Tucker, and Usher.

…Barack hit strong points as to why we should vote for him, lowering gas prices, college tuition, extending the age teenagers can stay on their parents health insurance and much more. It was a packed house and afterwards they were all willing to take pics and sign autographs. It was great!
THOMPSON DROPS OUT
Former TN Sen. Fred Thompson may have played a U.S. president in a made-for-TV movie (Ulysses S. Grant in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), but he will not get a chance at the real role in November.
Thompson announced Tuesday he had ended his run for the White House after earning a disappointing third place finish in South Carolina’s Republican primary.
According to a statement on his website:
“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”
As I mentioned in the Nevada Recap, South Carolina is key because since 1980, no Republican candidate has managed to make it to the White House without winning the state’s primary.
I actually thought Thompson might be a real contender; look at other actors who made the transition into politics: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, former President Ronald Reagan. Additionally, he ran the fourth largest presidential campaign behind Romney, Guiliani and McCain, respectively.
In farewell fashion, Sean Hackberth, who worked for Thompson’s eCampaign, wrote:
“Fred Thompson ran for President with his head held high. He offered conservative ideas that set him apart from all the other candidates. Politics is a strange affair. The person you think would be the best leader for America sometimes doesn’t win.”

A study posted Tuesday on the Center for Public Integrity’s website concludes that President Bush and top administration officials issued 935 false statements regarding the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the 2001 terrorist attacks.
According to the report, the statements:
“were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.”
The study found that in speeches, briefings, interviews as well as other venues, Bush and other administration officials stated on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.
“It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al-Qaida,” according to Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith of the Fund for Independence in Journalism staff members, writing an overview of the study. “In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003.”

Okay so you must have miss the first sentence that I said which was: I know some people are voting for him based on race, but alot are not. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton ran for office as well and not many African Americans voted or even would of bothered to vote for them. So if all African Americans were voting on race, why didn’t they make it past the first round.

#17 and #69 I feel you. Although they say education debt is not bad debt, but rather it is a investment. It still feels like bad debt to me. I do still believe education is important, but is worth all the debt that most of us come out with? So many people in our generation come out with so much debt they end up staying with their parents years after graduation and many forgo buying their first home because of their debt obligations. Educational institutions must to do more to help minorities succeed in their lives beyond college. Its not enough to just let us in, they have to make sure we finish in good standing. Some schools are not about making sure that it’s students are educated, many are all about making money at the expense of students trying to better themselves.

I agree that when you leave America, there is no such thing as African Canadian, African Chinese, African South American. America has classified people in categories for control. They want to keep track of how many foreigners are coming to this country. Well I know that almost 1/2 of the American population are consist of African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Caribbeans, and Africans. They use these statistics to create chaos and manipulate the media into a frenzy.
I refuse to vote for a Clinton. The Clintons are responsible for jobs going oversees, Clinton was the one that signed the bill to allow free trade in the banking industry. Thats why we have some many unregulated occupations (real estate). Savings has gone negative. Look at the mess we’re in we have to borrow from foreign countries that were supposedly involved in 9/11 (Saudi’s). We borrow money from Asia to fund our Wars, but who ends up paying for it, We do, the taxpayers. Slowly but surely America will become China, Japan and many of the nations that the media portray as the enemies. I know many of you will say that the Clintons balanced the budget, well guess what the deficit remained the same. We have not had a President that is capable to decrease the deficit. America borrows funds from Asia to help support their consumer drive, that we fail to realize how are we going to pay down a debt with a depreciating dollar. We are no longer competitors amongst ourselves, we are competitors against other nations. We are being laughed at because we praise on the Constitution. But we have failed to realized that we are allowing the government and media make our decisions. People need to do the research and find out what each candidate is about based on their past, not just the current. America has failed on its people. V for Vendetta.
