Bill Clinton said Friday that Barack Obama’s campaign was very impressive, and the Democratic presidential candidate “might win.”
“He’s put together a great campaign. It’s clearly not a fairy tale, it’s real,” Clinton said. “He might win.”
Clinton had called into activist Al Sharpton’s radio show to try to address the controversy over his remarks just before the New Hampshire primary that seemed to say the Illinois senator’s campaign was a “fairy tale.”
On Friday, he said that reference was meant to describe news coverage of Obama’s war vote, and of his campaign, and not the viability of his presidential run.
“I was addressing a specific argument. That doesn’t have anything to do with my respect for him as a person or as a political figure,” said the former president.
But he said black voters should support his wife Hillary Clinton over Obama because “You know where her heart and where her life has been.”

luvin that pic!
Oh, forgot to add as far as the comment goes, Bill was being condescending as usual and used a black radio station to mock Mr.Obama. he knows damn well he did nto mean that shit.
All the black leaders are kind of laying low but waiting for the day for some one to tell all their hypocriticall asses off especially on CNN.
They keep talking about endorsements for Obama don’t mean anything well why they hell you keep commenting on them and why you so upset that he did not endorse Kerry or the Clintons if they are not worth shit.
White folks a full of shit and they don’t know us young folks are listening to their game and turning us towards Obama.
And as far as the Clintons helping us they the reason why my grandmother who has worked all her life was told she could only gualify for $12.00 in foodstamps because of his welfare reform.
And Hillary is a phony racist whatever she and Bill, did anyone see how she looked at Obama at their last debate like she could kill him after her won Iowa.??????
If they could lynching and get away with it they would.
Angel thanks for keeping us posted with all the political stuff.
@ KMNILES:
Of course you bit, dummy. No one saw that one coming.
Of course Latane proved my point by conveniently ignoring the comments challenging his/her position. Of course you took the bait and jumped in to spew more incoherent rhetoric. All the while failing miserably at proving my assertion wrong. Latane posts random campaign mantra on every thread without relevance, and many people find that distracting/irritating = fact. Is that really hard to disprove? Are you really that slow? You just stay on my jock for no apparent reason. If you’re trying to suck me off, ask nicely. You’re way too easy. The only thing worse than a dumb bitch is an unwanted one. Moron, you are dismissed.
Bill Johnson has done nothing for the Charlotte community except gave out free tickets.
@ Unreal, I have defended my position multiple times, I have provided facts to defend my argument, you are the one to yet provide any facts or defend your position. And personally attacking me for my position is NOT a way to defend your position.
If you want my reasons for defending my position here are some:
Clinton wants to:
-make health care affordable and accessible to EVERYONE, she has a actual universal health care plan that will cover everyone
-She wants to end the war in Iraq, she has stated multiple times that if she is elected she will begin the withdrawal of troops within 60 days of her presidency.
-She wants to promote energy independence and fight global warming, these will help our economy, and makes us less dependent on foreign sources of oil
-she has a plan to help support parents raising children
-she fights for women’s rights
-she wants to reform the government
-she wants to reform the immigration system to help make it easier for immigrants to gain citizenship
Those are just some of her plans, Unreal if you want me to go into more detail on any of these topics just let me know. Now stop with the personal attacks and defend your position, since you haven’t done it AT ALL.
What people in the Media is failing to realize is that Obama never said he was JFk, or MLK, he used quotes that both of these men stated as does any other candidate. those candidates are not blasted for quoting other people. Why do Blacks always have to be held to a highter standard. Hillary stated earlier before Iowa that america needed to look at what is real, and not looking at candidates that or an abstraction. I took deep offense to that, because the media dismissed that statement, it hurt me and then with Bill saying that Obama or the judgements of Obama on Iraq is a fairy tale still comes down to the same belief. That they believe that this Black man is un real, a fantasy. I will never vote for Her. Obama is not a fantasy. check it out that is what Hillay stated. I would encourage EVERY READER TO GO TO YOU TUBE AND CLICK ON “CLINTON: AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY IS A RISK TO WHAT???, then write back to tell me if Mr Bill was calling Obama’s candidacy a fairy tail. Hillary states the same thing just using other terms.
BET IS AIRING THE SAME EXPOSE AS THE DID FOR OBAMA WITH HILLARY WHAT”S IN IT FOR US……AND THEY CALLED OBAMA THE #1 LOSER ON THEIR SPOOF FOR 2007.
I LEFT BET ALONE ALONG TIME AGO, BUT I AM HOPING THE YOUNG PEOPLE WILL SEE THROUGH ALL OF THAT AND SEE THEY ARE SUING THE NETWORK IN A NEGATIVE WAY AND I AM NOT WATCHING HILLARY, I’M TIRED OF HER LIES AND PRETENSE, I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF HER AFTER WATCHING HER THIS MORNING.
BY THE WAY THIS IS RACIAL THE LAST ELECTION WAS NOT THIS MESSY, ALL WHITE FOLKS AND OBAMA WAS NOT EXPECTED TO WIN IOWA OR GET ALMOST AS MANY VOTES AS THE WINNER IN NEW HAMPSHIRE THEY NEARLY TIED.
EVERYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PRAY AND HAS FAMILY MEMBERS OR GOT TO CHURCH WE CAN PRAY FOR OBAMA AND HIS FAMILY AND WE SHOULD HIS FIGHT IS FOR US…IF HE SUCCEEDS THEN WE ALL SUCCEEDS WHEN ANY AFRICAN AMERICAN THREADS ON NEW TERRITORY AND SUCCEEDS IT AFFECTS US AND OUR FUTURE, IT TRULY IS A CHANCE FOR US TO MAKE HISTORY AND THIS GENERATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE CAN DO IT!!!!! LET’S NOT TURN OUR BACKS ON OBAMA……HE IS OUR BROTHER YOU KNOW….THEY STICK TOGETHER AND WHY SHOULDN’T WE!!!!!
GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!!!!
EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM PRAY FOR HIM, HE HAS WRONGED NO ONE HE ONLY DESIRES TO BE NEXT PRESIDENT!!!!!!
HE HAS ALREADY MADE HISTORY BECOMING THE FIRST BLACK US SENATOR, AND I AM PROUD OF HIS COURAGE!!!
ANGEL KEEP US POSTED OKAY!!!!! THANKS.
IGNORE THIS FOOL WHO OBVIOUSLY HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO, THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER. THEY NEED TO TAKE THAT MESS OVER TO ROSANNE BARRS BLOG AND LET HER HEAR ALL T HIS RHETORIC.
WE KNOW WHAT THE HELL WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH AS A PEOPLE AND WE KNOW AT WHAT EXTENT FOLKS WILL GO TO DISCOURAGE US AND HOLD US BACKED THEY LYNCHED US YEARS AGO NOW THEY TRY TO BRAINWASH US LIKE WE CAN’S THINK FOR OURSELVES, IGNORE HER LIKE OBAMA HAS IGNORED BILL AND HILLARY!!!!
Obamas got my vote for sure.
^ Correction Bob Johnson, Owner of the Bobcats has the largest penthouse in downtown Charlotte. He is now single and cheapskate as you can tell by the basketball players he has on his team (except Jason Richards). He gives away tickets in the nose bleed section LOL..
Latane: What change has Hillary made? She has only been a senator for three years longer than Obama? Are you seriously thinking that just because she was a first lady that gives her experience. She has experience using the White house bathrooms and closets, that’s all the experience she has. And then she had the nerve to say that Lyndon B. Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act, not MLK. Oh no mam. Johnson may have signed it, but MLK did all the leg work. It takes an organizer, like MLK and Obama was also an organizer to create change. Not a person who votes on something, or signs something. Obama is an agent of change and I CAN NOT believe the people on this blog are falling for the lies the Clinton machine and throwing. It is a sad day.
@ Teni, this video talks about some of the changes she has made
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhydLhz48_k
Also to add to that, along with Ted Kennedy, she was the force behind the State Children’s Health Insurance Program in 1997. This was to provide children with health care, whose parents couldn’t afford health care for their children
She also urged medicare to provide mammograms to older women to help detect breast cancer.
She helped to increase research for prostate cancer.
Together with Attorney General Janet Reno, Clinton helped create the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice.
She initiated the adoptions and safe families act.
She helped create Vital Voices, an international initiative sponsored by the United States to promote the participation of women in the political processes of their countries.
Clinton initiated and was Founding Chair of the Save America’s Treasures program, a national effort that matched federal funds to private donations for the purpose of preserving and restoring historic items and sites
Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, Clinton sought to obtain funding for the recovery efforts in New York City and security improvements in her state.
There are many other things, all you have to do is look them up.
LATANE said: “I have defended my position multiple times, I have provided facts to defend my argument, you are the one to yet provide any facts or defend your position. And personally attacking me for my position is NOT a way to defend your position.”
First of all, you’re helping me prove my point by consistently straying from the subject matter. I have never stated a position on the subject of Obama vs. Hilary, which makes me question your comprehension skills.
I asked you a simple question, which you have yet to address. I’m asking you again: why do you find it necessary to spew completely irrelevant campaign jargon on threads obviously geared at totally different topics? You do it over and over again, and it is very distracting. Do you finally understand my question to the level that you can address it logically without hurling more immaterial campaign bullet points and videos? You said once that you’re in college, and I’m wondering what college would admit anyone with such poor cognitive skills. I made a call on your level of intelligence based on that. It’s not a personal attack, it’s an accurate observation. The only thing you’re capable of teaching me is to make me believe that you have the intellectual maturity to stick to the topic, which I seriously doubt.
@128
Every real black person knows exactly who LATANE & Co are. They are transparent and damn near funny. It’s just ironic to me that they have the nerve to think folk are docile enough to be brainwashed while they’re obviously not too bright themselves.
Unreal my posts in this thread were responses to other posts, which from the beginning very few people actually addressed the actual topic. Your inability to state your question clearly until now has nothing to do with intelligence, I do find it offensive that you feel the need to insult my intelligence, and even go as far as to say that you don’t know what college would admit me, that was uncalled for and unnecessary. I have not tried to make this an Obama vs. Clinton debate as there were people already talking about it before I even posted in here. So I never strayed from the topic I added to it, just read the posts before my first one.
Also the what I am saying is not irrelevant, everything I have said pertained to something someone else has brought up, someone asked me to defend my position and I did, someone asked me to show the changes made and I did.
So again don’t say I strayed from the topic, when there are multiple topics being discussed all at the same time. And as for the main post I have addressed and again I am not the only one who is talking about something other than the “topic” as I was responding to other posts that surely were not about what Bill Clinton said about Obama.
LATANE you dont have to keep explaining yourself to them. That is what this forum is for……….to give your opinion and tell who your supporting. J. Dakar doesnt make these posts just for Obama supporters, he makes them for all that are interested in the campaign. No matter who they support.
If they dont like you supporting Hillary, then too bad. No one is stopping them from rallying for Obama. So why should they question who you support?
UNREAL….no one is trying to brainwash anybody. No one can convince you to vote for Hillary, just like no one convince me to vote for Obama. End of story. Dont attack people for their opinions……..cause your the one that comes off unintelligent. IMO.
#127: I just wanted to point out that Obama is not the first black U.S. senator; that was Hiram Revels in 1870.
Peace and blessings,
J. Dakar
I agree with former president Bill Cliton that Obama will win. Yeah, Obama’s campaign was really really impressive. If you have ever been in the thick of a Presidential campaign, and you were to hitch a ride with the candidate on his plane, there is something that becomes very clear, very quickly. It’s a question as to whether the candidate is competent or not. And I see Obama is very ambitious! Once I have read a book — “The Audacity of Hope” by Obama, it seems that his analysis of the world situation, from the US, to Indonesia, to Africa, to Iraq shows a much deeper understanding than would be evident from
the debates:
dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=39018&ru=279 ,
I absolutely think his ambition will make him win.
so of you need to stop giving barack your vote based on the fact he’s black. and not his issues.
im black and a dem. but obama’s views are very liberal.
for instance. how safe do yall think we’ll be and smart it will be just to pull out of iraq in stead of doing a slow withdrawl
im against thewar but you cant be naive. if you pull out what little stability their will crumble and we might be fighting the enemy as our doorsteps
i rather now
Clinton has my vote

Your pea-brained ASSertion wasn’t heavy enough to provoke critical examination on my part to be honest. The method of your questioning was my primary focus and given the constant use of your irrelevant jargon, I’d say my character observation of you were dead on. And may I politely remind you that you’ve yet to give any relevant explanation as to what warranted such a foul display of disrecpect twards Latane other than your neurotic admission of what makes you tic, which still holds no merit when it comes to anything posted here on CL. One thing you’ve confirmed with your ridiculous response happens to be your erotic fetish with dick sucking and jock straps which I absolutely want no parts of. Save your enticements for your fellow DL brothers for they are wasted on me, HomoThug.
LMFAO @ the pic tho.
Hillary is not dumb, that is why she stayed with Bill after that scandal, because it’s payback for him…lol
I am voting based on judgment..the experience should be spread throughout the administration, not just the president.
For Bill to say that black voters should support his wife Hillary Clinton over Obama because “You know where her heart and where her life has been.” effectively means that she should be associated with the “first Black President” so it’ll be “all good for you”. It must be that because he sure can’t be encouraging black voters to look at the part of Hilary’s life that involved her being agianst the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as a republican and a follower of Barry Goldwater (i.e. the anti-civil rights dude); thank God he didn’t win the presidency then..
I obviously look like I have something against Hilary but I wasn’t impressed when she faked her Southern acccent campaigning last year. She just appears too crafty and calculating to me. I’m probably just imagining things (seen too many movies, LMAO) but there’s something fishy here. Why would Bill Clinton hype up Obama when the latest polls indicate an increase in the polls for Hilary as well as a substantial lead for her? This must be an indirect call for help; you’ve got your forces in place and you’re in a good position; you effectively let your support not become complacent by complimenting the oppostion so as to make your support feel weak thereby making them not be complacent. I also think that Bill is trying to hype up Obama because some say in the wings that Obama is all hype and so I expect the Clinton camp to focus on policy now asince they screwed up with the MLK/race thing yesterday and she got boed. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the primaries turn out.
